JT Abergwaun hotel

The food was phenomenal! We ate there three evenings and it was always delicious. The staff were both friendly and helpful and efficient. Thank you all.

Our apartment was not very good as it was furnished with very worn out furniture. It needed blackout curtains and bed heads and maybe some chairs since the sofa was truly "sat out"! But it was very clean and the bathroom was good. And some lampshades and better bedside lights would have been nice. But still we enjoyed it.....

Lovely room and excellent level of toiletries and beverages. Beautifully clean and great facilities. Central location and I would definitely recommend to friends who may visit Fishguard.

No-one around when we arrived at about 5pm after a very long journey so we were unable to gain access. Tried the phone number on the door several times but no reply. Went off for an hour to explore and eventually raised someone at 6. All fine after that, lovely welcome and as I said, room was fabulous. Would have been 10 out of 10 if we could have accessed it a bit sooner as we were both shattered after an all day drive.

The hotel is conveniently located in the city center and very near the bus station for local buses. The owners were very welcoming, and the food in the restaurant at night was stellar. Lots of breakfast options as well.

We noticed a few minor issues. The TV in our room wasn't connected and didn't function (but we really didn't care about that). The staff has not left any shower soap although there was plenty of hand soap, shampoo, and conditioner (and the products were very nice). A bit more attention to these small things would make this place the perfect place to stay in the area.

We arrived late from the ferry and there was someone to let us in and show us to our room - it’s a small hotel so this was really great. Our room was cheerful, clean and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were really comfortable! The shower room too was nicely kitted out and there was plenty of hot water. We have breakfast and that was served in the restaurant - the staff were very friendly and all was very tasty!

Nothing much. No parking immediately outside but there is some nearby so all ok really.

Central location with a short walk to shops, restaurants (but use the on-site dining) and amazing coastal scenery. Close to a good value car park. Well appointed room with lovely shower, TV and tea/coffee facilities. Very comfortable bed. Dining is superb. Obviously talented kitchen and bar staff with a delightful menu of lovely local food. Perfectly cooked and presented. Prices are reasonable too. This place will be a “must go” stopover for West Wales. Very helpful staff.

Minor quibbles - still some work being done. A little noise from traffic but it settles overnight. Some areas such as the staircase and lobby are yet to be upgraded. Slightly heavier curtains on a sunny day would help you sleep in.

Hosts very friendly and helpful and breakfasts amazing! Had starter & dessert first evening in restaurant and that was fantastic too. Helpful to have pull-in bay outside to load and unload as car park some distance away. Comfy bedroom and huge bathroom.

Horrid view from small window! Also coffee machine didn't work in room and there were some unnerving problems with the electrics - hotel still opening up with new owners after major renovations so hope these get fixed.

This hotel is best described as a first class restaurant with rooms. The room was clean and bright and the bathroom well appointed, The bed was very comfortable. The restaurant was first class and the food wonderful.

The hot water had an annoying habit of switching itself off over night. Great if you wanted a cold shower first thing and spark up your immune system. This did not affect us as we tended to shower in the evenings anyway.

Location was good. Lovely size bedroom

Outside side of the building when coming from behind is neglected and shabby. No pillow protectors and duvet cover had makeup/Foundation stains on the inside. It wasn’t from me as I seldom wear it and did not during my stay. Tried to check out at 10.15 but could not. No one around. No key drop off box. Left the hotel with the key and returned around 11.15 with it. No one answered the telephone at 10.15am.

Best breakfast ever, defo pay the £10, you will not be disappointed. Hotel situated in the main square with everything very nearby and a short walk down to lower Fishguard which is a loverly harbour with fab walks. Parking is no issue either, only cost £2 per 24 hours and only 100 yards from the hotel.

Could have done with a lounge bar in the hotel, drinks are served but the only area is a restaurant and not the right atmosphere for a night cap, although there are plenty of bars very nearby.

We had an excellent stay. The room was spacious and nicely done. The staff were very accommodating. The restaurant is fantastic, we had dinner and breakfast and would highly recommend both. The restaurant is also good value for the quality of food they serve. Arrived on foot from the coast path (about 1km up the hill). Easy to find. Decent CoOp just around the corner.
