Sunninghill Hotel

The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. The lounge area where dinner was served was bright, spacious and attractive. Dinner on both evenings was excellent, with a wide ranging choice on the menu and the food cooked to order. I don't eat a cooked breakfast but was happy with the choice of cereal, fruit and yoghurt. The bed was very comfy, the room was clean and fresh looking but the decor was a bit dated.

The 'en suite' bathroom was very disappointing. It consisted of a very small, narrow room housing toilet and shower only, with the sink standing (in vanity unit) in the bedroom itself. Every time I ran water in the sink it made an annoying glugging noise for quite sometime afterwards. All this was unexpected after viewing a typical double room with a modern en suite on the website.

On first impression, I was worried it was a bit "tired", but the rooms were delightful - very recent upgrade to bathroom in particular. Staff, without exception, were focused on making sure guests were satisfied and did their best to accomadate any requests. Restaurant was very reasonably priced and very good food. Bar was a pleasant surprise - staff there was very friendly and Alistair in particular made the evenings a special delight. Can't thank him (or rest of the staff) enough! :)

it was fine though a bit of a walk from "downtown", not so far it was undoable so certainly worth staying at this property.

Breakfast and evening meals were exceptional and generous portions. All staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble for them Hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean with shampoo, soap and shower gel provided as well as tea/coffee etc. The bed was extremely comfortable. Large mirror provided in room and magnifying shaving mirror in bathroom

On our booking we requested the twin room be made into 1 extra large bed but Booking. Com had not passed this info on so the hotel had to rearrange the room on our arrival , also on Booking. Com site it said rooms had a view of the garden or city but ours looked onto the flat roof of the kitchen where there was a large extractor that ran all night and was hard to ignore. The walls are also thin so noise from other rooms like people talking, shutting drawers etc. made it difficult to get to sleep The shower was rather poor.

the rooms were very clean with good facilities. the food was excellent.

The vegetarian menu was not offered to us so my mother had to have fish (which she does eat and enjoy) however it was only when she questioned what they do if a vegetarian stays, that they said they had a dedicated vegetarian menu! The vegetarian menu is so good that I also chose to have something off it on our last night (despite not being a vegetarian). I think it should automatically be handed out with the main menu as a matter of course, or just combine them both into one menu. It is such a shame to have such an amazing menu that most people don’t even know exists.

Breakfast was absolutely lovely. The cooked breakfast menu had fabulous choices which I liked as never have everything on the full English, so very happy and quality of bacon, sausage and egg very good. The croissants were dry so a little disappointed in them. Staff are lovely and very attentive, friendly. I had dinner in the restaurant that evening, quite busy and a great vibe. food menu had interesting choices and I was very pleased with my order. I was given a room in the brand new annex, it was downstairs and a disabled bathroom wide door, large spacious room. Bed and bedding super comfortable. large TV on the wall and the wifi was great, no problems completing my work. I would recommend.

Parking area can get full and then need to find on street parking. Manager Alistair was fantastic and had said he had a space I could get parked in next to hotel but I had already tried 3 times ( the first few times a bus had taken up a lot of parking and then Manager had it moved) by time I got back to parking other cars had grabbed the spaces. Left me annoyed as had been up really early to drive up to Inverness and a long day working so just wanted to park and get into room. That said the Manager was fantastic and it was my bad I did not wait for him to show me the parking space.

Friendly and attentive staff, excellent food (best breakfast), smart tv in room so I was able to watch sky sports with my log in, location, value for money, very clean

The kettle in my room (20) was covered in limescale. The bed wasn’t overly comfortable with the gap going straight down the middle. Wasn’t particularly warm with the only radiator being at the window and to warm the room at night I had to tuck the curtains in behind the radiator.

Great location for access to the train station and my work. Lovely comfortable room and bed, appreciated being given a larger room. Layout of the hotel is really nice and the stained glass window in the central hallway is beautiful.

The food was nice but just missed the mark, main meal was bland, dessert flavours didn’t go well together and was really bitter, and cooked breakfast was all a bit underdone, watery eggs etc. For the price, I was expecting just a little better.

A comfortable bed, the room was equipped with tea/coffee etc, hairdryer and bible provided, good soft towels and adequate toiletries. Breakfast was excellent, as were the two evening meals we had. Service was superb.

It would have been nice if the room had been a bit bigger - but that 's an observation more a complaint.

Clean, tidy, well decorated. Very pleasant. Comfortable and well provided bedroom. Good bar and restaurant. Good breakfast. Excellent service from a very friendly and obliging staff. I will certainly look forward to staying here again.

Very good central location in Elgin with a decent sized car park. Staff were very nice during checking and breakfast. Room was a good size and stocked well with tea, coffee and biscuits. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was basic but good.

Upon arrival, the room was rather chilly but did heat up but that is the only thing.
