The Stronlossit is run by the down to earth friendly sunny Gabriel, his wife and their little boy and they do an AMAZING job! The room we stayed in was a beautiful refurbished room. VERY spacious and a lovely bathroom. The inn is a bit outdated but you can tell it was a very luxurious hotel when it was built. Everything is very well preserved so it might not be your taste, but its not a mess. Its just a time-machine :) Location just outside of Fort William, away from the busy roads was perfect as well. Nice, specially prepared breakfast and a great bar and restaurant with lots of locals dropping in.

Our stay here was too short :)

The rooms were great and scrupulously clean. The bedding and towels were luxurious and top quality. The staff were so friendly, attentive and helpful. The food was brilliant quality. And the location, just a few minutes by car from Fort William, was great too. There’s even a railway station 100m away if you’re travelling by rail….

Theres nothing wrong with the exterior appearance (a bit alpine ski lodge like), but it might set an initial expectation that is completely blown away by the experience once inside….

Beautiful rooms. Exactly as the pictures showed. Bed was extremely comfortable, possibly one of the comfiest beds I've stopped in at a hotel. Our room overlooked an adorable duck pond on the back garden and was greeted by the ducks below our window each morning. Food was amazing and a fair price for what you got. In a perfect central area to access tourist destinations. Very friendly staff who were welcoming and helpful. Would 100% stay here again.

The only downfall to this hotel is that there aren't many other places to eat other than the hotel, cute little cafe about 15 mins away towards Fort William. But as stated the food was amazing so not so much of an issue.

Great location between Loch Ness and Glenn Coe, so much nicer to stay here than staying in Fort WIlliam! We had a very good meal at the restaurant, just perfect after a long day in a quiet and layed back setting, and then just walked back to our conmfortable and quiet room for a long night before another eventful day. Breakfast was very good as well and the breakfast lounge looks over the garden on a beautiful pink cherry blossom tree that was full bloom so it was a real delight.

Where to begin? I last stayed at Stronlossit in 1976 - it was owned by the parents of a fellow university student back then. I even helped out with building the extension, as a contribution towards my keep. So, 46 years later, and the setting and location have barely changed at all. Still the stunning views of Ben Nevis etc. We asked for, and got a quiet room with a view. And what a view! Being so far north, it was amazing to be able to look straight out towards Ben Nevis in the twilight, at gone 11pm. Breakfast was really good, and also good that we didn't have to check out until 11am.

Having to leave the next morning! We can't leave it for another 46 years before our next stay (we'll be in the Guinness Book of Records if we're still around in 2068!) so all being well, we'll be back soon!

Very friendly people who even allowed us to have quite a large delivery at their hotel for us. (We are Dutch so this was the only way we could order something in England as most companies do not deliver to Holland)

There was absolutely nothing not to like! Everyone was friendly and helpful. The food was nice, for breakfast as well as dinner. We will certainly stay here when we come to that part of Scotland again.

All the staff were friendly and down to earth and went the extra mile to make sure everything was ok Food was so good we ate there every night despite intending to 'investigate the area' foodwise.....we ended up doing that when we moved on to our next hotel

Nothing...unless you are going for the exact same service at a pittance of the price which is unrealistic

The restaurant was small and intimate. The food was very good. After dinner we went for a walk which was beautiful. Then we sat on the patio in front of the hotel to watch the sun set over the mountains. Very nice and quiet.

I had never stayed where a radiator was used for heat. I did not know how to turn on the radiator but I did find a portable heater in the closet. It worked great.

People who worked that weekend were incredibly attentive and helpful, despite being understaffed. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The room was bigger than what I am used to from modern hotels, had ample storage and more homey feel. the restaurant downstairs serves delicious food.

the bathroom was a bit outdated and there was weak water pressure in the shower breakfast portions were rather small

Friendly staff - Manager Gabriel and Oana were great hosts, polite and very friendly. Lovely, lively bar atmosphere, Ok perhaps a little dated but it had that rustic feel. Dined here twice and the main meals were excellent. Modern bathroom and a very good nights sleep.

Breakfast offerings not as generous as dinner portions - smoked haddock very small.
