Days Inn Hotel Leicester

Drove from Fife, Scotland to Kent, England and this was a welcome stop on the way. Ensuite room was clean and well presented, staff were very helpful. Attached to service area with shops and eateries.

There are no plug sockets next to bed. I have sleep apnoea and have to use a CPAP breathing machine, this needs to be plugged in next to the bed so it works when I am sleeping. Would also be useful for charging phones next to bed so can reach if using as an alarm. Please consider putting sockets next to bed heads in all your hotels

Everything apart from position of room(see below). Room was spacious, modern, clean and well lit. Bed was comfy.

We were in a room facing the area where the lorries park overnight. Many of them kept their engines running and there was therefore a constant noise which although not extreme, meant our sleep was disturbed.

I love this place but its not for everyone, if my wife was with me I would have had to use a full blown hotel. This is a great place if you want really friendly staff, ease of access and location (car required). It's a motorway services hotel. I have stopped he multiple times. I like it because it's a motorway services, it's always open, have jet lag in the middle of the night, no problem you can go get food, stores etc. Rooms are very clean, bed comfortable. I'm an Ex-Pat from Leicester living in the US. When I visit alone or visit with the kids we stay here. Not the wife cup of tea, but very practical, affordable etc. I stopped here for 18 nights once when my farther past, apart from the occasion that brought me here, the 18 nights where great. I could work from the room, the WiFi was fast enough. Plenty of food and drink on hand. Highly recommend this better than some hotel I have paid twice as much for.

The staff were so accommodating! They took excellent care of me. They were very friendly too. The staff were definitely the best part of my stay.

It could have been cleaner. Some things were clearly not wiped down. Even some of the mugs and spoons provided were dirty on multiple occasions. Because it was a long stay, it also would have been nice to have fresh items provided to me everyday or at least every couple of days, rather than me having to go ask every couple of days. However, the staff would always get whatever I needed immediately when I asked, so that's a plus.

Room was clean and had the facilities we needed, friendly staff, met our needs.

2 small things if you are using the postcode it takes you into Leicester Forest East village! We did around 30 miles trying to get back to the M1 before eventually sneaking through the South bound service area and going across on a service road. Only other comment was our room (16) was adjacent to where the lorries with chiller units on parked so we heard the generators running on and off through the night

I had a booking for this night with Holiday Inn Leicester – Wigston – which they cancelled at 8pm on the night of my stay while I was driving up the M1. They promised to send details of an alternate but didn't. I found Days Inn on Booking.com and they had one room left. I was just grateful to get in but in reality, the experience more than bettered my expectation of a cheaper hotel at a motorway service area. Staff friendly, room clean, no discernible road noise and a friendly haven after getting booted out of a more expensive hotel. Holiday Inn is now on my don't trust, avoid list but I will take notice of Days Inn as an option for a travel rest...very impressed.

Nothing, everything met expectations

Days Inn is always reliably clean, the staff pleasant and helpful and generally quiet considering it is situated as part of the services on the M1. There is always plenty of parking although it is in the general services parking area which is well lit and has people coming and going 24/7. We choose to stay here every time we are in the area as it is quite good value for money.

No complaints. Can be a little nerve racking having to park a hire car in the car park overnight.

We have stayed here before and it's very conveniently next to the M1. The traffic noise is not annoying. It's a constant, lulling white noise like waves. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean with good linen and they smell fresh.

The communal corridors are showing signs of age - wear and stains on the carpets (not in the rooms). The TV is fairly poor. No links to iPlayer or pairing with your phone. Like most places, the rooms need a better supply of milk cartons.

We have stayed before on a number of trips and always find it clean and comfortable. The staff are always helpful and friendly. It’s easy to find and affordable with shops right next door for groceries and take away food. Surprisingly very quiet being on the M1.

We had great difficulty with the wifi. The location is great if you are travelling on the road and passing through but not so if you need to do business in and around town as it is away from everything.

Great location if you're a foody like me, there was plenty of choice next door. Room was equipped enough for my stay, the shower gel was lovely. The staff were friendly and the hotel was generally peaceful. The room was spotless. Wifi was very good and easy to log in.

I could hear an external noise all night which disturbed my sleep. I would of bought earbuds or my echo dot to play some low background sound if I would of realised. Even with this the hotel was good and I would stay with Days Inn again.
