The Guardsman - Preferred Hotels and Resorts

Unbelievable travel experience from the moment we walked in the doors... check in was outstanding as we waited a few minutes for our keys and was served a welcome beverage and snack in an absolutely spotless lobby/waiting salon. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating during our stay in every fashion of service such as housekeeping, room-service. etc... everyday day/night was provided with fresh (glass) water bottles, coffee and fresh cream. Rooms were absolutely spotless and comfortable in every aspect you can imagine. Concierge service from obtaining routes via transit to shopping/site seeing areas or dinner selections was spot on. It was our daughter's 16th birthday and she was welcomed in her room with fresh flowers and a slice of cake wishing her the best. We will certainly return to the Guardsman and it's professional staff and well located hotel.

Good check-in - would have appreciated a better description of the Smart room amenities - lights etc I don't like all the menu's being on a TV

This is a very nice hotel. Comfortable, squeaky clean, very well situated. And I was so pleased by all the help I got from the staff: Bartek helped me solve a number of challenges that I had during my stay (NOT caused by the hotel!). He did this in a very gracious way that made things really easy for me. For example he organized the shipment of some goods for me and I really was completely hassle free, so I could do the work I had come for to London. Also the gentleman who showed me my room did a very good job explaining to me the lighting system etc, thank you! Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to taste the breakfast, I'm sure it's excellent.

I found the provided pillows way to thick to be comfortable - but the hotel provided me with a choice of much better pillows!

Bartek greeted us and made sure all of my requests had been meet. Fantastic staff help make the stay even more memorable. This could be my new favorite hotel in London! PERFECT for a cosy get away or business trip.

Car park about 10 min walk away, but that's not a reflection on the hotel as they have no space for a car park

The staff are absolutely lovely and the location is great, very close to the tube and also walking distance to the palace and Westminster Abbey. The bed is extremely comfortable, the softest sheets I’ve experienced at a hotel.

Minor things, but the lighting isn’t great in the room. You can hear some doors closing in the hallways. Thought it was odd that a staff member was ringing the door bell which was very loud to give me water at 10pm at night, something I hadn’t asked for.

Contemporary English design with cosy but modern furnishings and great amenities. All electronics were touch enabled including lighting, AC and shower floor heater. The attention to detail was great. They left a lovely welcome message with a complimentary pillow mist and a lip balm and night cream at the bedside during turndown service.

The location wasn’t as central as I’d hoped to walk everywhere but it was a short walk from Buckingham Palace and the Victoria tube station which was great. The lobby was super small with only one service desk which made it a little congested during checkin and checkout.

We stayed here for our Wedding and the hotel went over and above to make us feel special. We were given a welcome drink of champagne on arrival and on our wedding night they left a bottle of champagne and a lovely dessert in our room. The bathroom was stunning (we staying in the Guardsman rooms) and the bed was really comfy. The location was excellent really near Victoria station and some lovely coffee shops in the area.

For the price, I thought the room may be a little bit more luxurious and special. It was lovely but given how much the rooms were it didn't feel like it matched. Likewise, there are no facilities such as a gym or swimming pool, which again for the price is quite disappointing.

Great location, staff friendly and helpful.

The room was very small for a deluxe double. Housekeeping staff although friendly used to arrive when we were back. Staff tried to fix the bathroom mirror lighting which had gone out. Very high tech electrics connected to WiFi. TV was good, although couldn’t get rid of audio announcements during dramas - this is for those who are blind but no way of turning this off!

What an amazing find! This place in incredible, the staff are so welcoming and professional, from check in to the bar (great cocktails as well!) everyone was perfect. The rooms have such a high quality feel to them, really high spec finish. The lobby area again feels welcoming, bright and of a really high standard. There is a traditional feel in a modern style that carries through the whole hotel, making it feel quite special. Being only 5 mins from Buckingham Palace and 15 mins to Hyde Park / Park Lane is another huge draw, and St James tube station is just 5 mins in the other direction putting you on the Circle or District lines, meaning the whole of Central London is within easy reach. We will 100% return to stay here again the future.
