The hotel is in a perfect position to reach the city centre using the underground (two stations are close to it, which means you can find three lines of underground and go almost everywhere). The room was clean, the staff was kind and the breakfast was varied, good for both sweet and savoury taste

The size of the room is not big but for few nights it's still pretty comfortable

The room itself was perfectly fine for one person, it was clean, especially the bathroom. The bed was comfortable was well and the surrounding area just perfect for a city trip. There were two underground stations (Queensway and Bayswater) in walking distance, the first one even with an elevator, so perfect if you have a heavy suitcase. Kensington gardens were literally right around the corner. The breakfast buffet was perfectly fine and you were even able to order some additional breakfast options. As a solo female traveller I felt really safe at the hotel. I have been to London several times now and this was the best hotel I´ve stayed at.

The window in my room wasnt properly insulated (and had no lock...) so cold air was coming into my room through out the entire night and the small radiator wasnt working too. HOWEVER upon request a portable radiator was brought to my room a few hours later and the original radiator was working as well now, which solved the problem of a freezing room for the rest of my stay.

Fantastic location in Kensington; within a square of many other hotels and serviced apartments making us feel very safe. We enjoyed the quiet away from the crowds in central London, yet upon exiting the lane is a row of eateries, supermarkets, Boots, and the nearest train station just a 3 min walk away. A 6-7 min walk brings us to yet another train station, and a 15 min walk takes us to Paddington station, perfect for travellers heading to the airport or other cities in the UK. A 25-30 min train/bus ride brings us right to Soho. Staff are friendly and welcoming and the hotel lobby has a huge area for one to rest on the comfortable chairs and sofas with plugs provided. Breakfast is included as well. The room we booked had sufficient space for two of us.

The space is clean on the whole but there are certain spots hidden away e.g. ridges of the heater, towel hanger in the toilet, that could be better dusted.

Perfect location, tidy room, friendly team, tasty breakfast

No hair conditioner, only shampoo. Seriously strange. Sound isolation is not the best, you can hear your neighbor's TV very well. Aircon was pretty weak, had to turn on a ventilator in +20. The rest was good.

This is a very nice hotel. Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff, nice bar/lounge area.

The room was really tiny, not optimal when you're large. The shower head is fixed on the wall, so not very practical. Also, might not be great for people with mobility issues, there are stairs to get to the hotel and even to the elevator (which is very very very slow).

Good option if you want a decent hotel without spending a fortune in London. Rooms are tiny and no frills, but they're clean and comfy, breakfast is included and the location in Kensington - close to several subway stops - is convenient.

Room was ridiculously hot when I entered. Thankfully I could shut down the heater and open a window, which took care of it.

Very close to the tube and Kensington Gardens, with nice pubs and restaurants nearby as well as a Boots / Tesco / Sainsbury's. The breakfast buffet had a good selection and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I get cold easily and found my room to be just the right temperature, and was pleased with the hot water and water pressure of the shower.

The radiator or vent in the bathroom was a bit loud whenever I turned on the bathroom light -- I personally had no issues and did not ask for this to be addressed, but a light sleeper may have some trouble because it stays loud for about ~20 minutes after the light is off.

In my really tiny single room I had all my practical necessities - hair dryer, electric kettle (with some tea, coffee, cacao, cookies :) mini-fridge (on request), possibility to charge gadgets with EU USB cable. Good view to the small park through the 3rd floor window. Good room make-up every day :) Breakfast - not very rich with hot foods, but I enjoyed coffee served individually in thermo mug :) + alternative milk choices. Laconic but responsive communication from the stuff.

It was quite noisy due to bad sound isolation from outside and from other rooms. Window doesn`t opens fully so it`s hard to get enough fresh air. But it`s good that it opens at all! Bed and pillows quite solid, too stony for me.. Shower - only rain shower, no possibility to wash just hair.

This was my second start at the Phoenix Hotel and just as last time I’ve really enjoy my stay at this hotel. The rooms including the bathroom are always clean, the location is brilliant (with three underground lines right around the corner), and the staff is incredibly kind.

This time my room had a little bit less storage space than last time and the view wasn’t the best either, but considering that you are probably spending more time out and about it wasn’t that big of a deal. I did however had once again some issues with the heating which was a bit of a bummer but the issue was fixed by the time I returned to the hotel that day. There was also a brief power outage in my room, but that one was fixed by the time I’ve returned to my room from the reception which shows how brilliantly helpful the staff is.

The location simply cannot be beat. In the heart of Bayswater, you're four minutes from the nearest tube station and six from another, both of which provide excellent connections all around London. Lots of food and drink options, including some late-night shopping for snacks and sundries also available nearby. The hotel room itself is very small and compact but comfortable for one person. It's clean, there's a lift, and it's good value for money in London, which is notoriously expensive where accomodation is concerned.

The hotel itself is a little old and shabby, but it's well-maintained for what it is. You get a decent bang for your buck even if it isn't luxurious or spacious. The single room for a solo traveller really is that though - there's not much room for anything or anyone else. The location is great - it's located in a very quiet square which can feel a bit spooky for travellers returning late. But never had any issues and there's always someone at reception to let you in after hours.
