Advocate Arms

Me and my wife came for a night away on a rare night we where child free. We had a brilliant stay and couldn’t recommend this place enough. We arrived and parked across the road with free parking nearly at the front door. Upon looking at the hotel from the outside we both immediately thought it looked a little run down and a bit shabby. This was NOT the case from the second you walk in the front door the decor is classy and elegant and has a very nice vibe and all the staff where very welcoming. We stayed in a superior king room and the room itself was absolutely massive and again very nicely decorated couldn’t of asked for more. The shower was brilliant with a bath. The bed was super comfy and huge there was also some complimentary coffee and hot chocolate which was lovely. We had opted for the option upon booking which was superior king room breakfast and dinner and we are so glad we did the food was absolutely beautiful the scotch eggs for starter was to die for and the tomato chutney was incredible. For mains we had the belly pork which again was as 10/10 couldn’t of asked for better. We also ordered a fish pie which in all honesty I regretted ordering because my partners belly pork blew it out of the park however it was still nice. The deserts was absolutely the best part of the stay they was incredible worth the money alone we had the sticky toffee pudding which partner has absolutely everywhere we go and she said it was her favourite ever so that is high praise! I had the lemon tart and it was quite possibly the perfect dessert I wouldn’t of changed a thing! Another side note the cocktails where fantastic and a good choice of larger on tap to. Never waiting for drink the staff were supper attentive and was always there to bring another to us. Thank you for a brilliant night away and we shall be back soon that’s for sure!

Honestly no cons on our stay!

Good location and price. Comfortable bed.

Property was renovated in 2008 but now looking tired. Wallpaper peeling off all over the hotel. Bedroom carpet unsuitable for hotel use. Unlikely to be 5star as advertised. No phone in the room to contact reception. No lift and disabled access. Breakfast options are all individually priced so the normal all included breakfast offered elsewhere would turn out to about £20. Some dinner menu items rather mean portions for the price.

the rooms were clean and spacious. the restaurant attached to the hotel offered a wide range of delicious food with generous proportions. the staff were all very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help

parking was a problem as the hotel was on a main road and there was only a council car park about 100 yards down the road. fortunately when we arrived the car park was free from 6 and for all of the Sunday. if we’d arrived earlier on another day we would have had to pay parking costs.

Lovely staff and lovely food I had breakfast twice and one evening meal, all were excellent. Comfy bed Clean

No parking If you struggle up stairs warn them Cold on coming into room but i put heating on flat out and warm by the time i came back from dinner but might have been chilly if i had just wanted to relax in room. But was well aired and smelled fresh. No plug by bed or desk that I could find but there was by cabinet with tea in Luckily I take long wire charger.

Friendly staff. Nice size rooms with facilities like bottled water, a variety of hot drinks and a variety of toiletries. Hot water and we had a shower and a bath so win win. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful.

We always sleep with the window open so did hear some road noise, but it was not a problem and did not stop us from sleeping.

Hotel is fantastic! Staff were very attentive, room was well presented with good facilities (large selection of tea / coffee making), nice bathroom with large walk in shower. Breakfast was good. Evening meal was excellent, fantastic food served to a high standard. Would highly recommend!

Breakfast didn’t start till 08:00

Plenty of light! Some hotel rooms have very dim lighting. A Arms has bright centre light and lamps so there is a choice. Bathroom light very good and no hazardous glass shelf above the basin. Good breakfast menu catering for small and large appetites. Booked a family meal for 8 adults and 7 children. Food excellent. Promptly served. Staff thoroughly obliging.

Pity that the car park is now used as extra outdoor eating space. We managed the short walk to the car park. Had family to help when we arrived. On departure made two trips to load up the car. A grab rail in the shower would be appreciated. The timer switch on the stairs is slow to activate when going up.

The staff was helpful and one cooked very good food in the restaurant The location was excellent The bathroom was clean and convenient Free tea and coffee plus a kattle were provided to the room

The Internet signal was not enough for those living in the last floor though down the stairs it was excellent

The restaurant was lovely and the staff were very helpful and efficient. Breakfast was great also.

Nothing to do with the hotel it was Market Rasen itself. Pity the town didn't take a leaf from the Advocate Arms and make itself welcoming!

Fabulous breakfast. Lovely room at front of hotel overlooking market square remarkably quiet. Very clean with plenty of hanging space for clothes + drawers. Loveky big soft towels plenty of toiletries Friendly staff
