Very friendly and attentive staff, lovely old pub and well kept garden, lovely patio with plenty of parasols (as it was hot). Very nice food in the evening and for breakfast. Beautiful location, lovely green opposite, horse riders clip-clopping by. Also, at the end of the small lane is a very old church with stain glass windows and a roman coffin in the grounds, worth a look inside and out. Our room was well stocked with all you need. Clean and very comfy bed. Good powerful shower. Had a fan in the room which was much appreciated. Also, nicely decorated.

Being very picky here, the shower would benefit from a bit of Viakal, BUT it was clean. The room is quite compact, but it was fine for one or two nights ( I think the heat didn't help).

Lovely room and beautiful old pub in a pretty village with different 'rooms' for the bars and restaurant, all really lovely . Great for walking in the South Downs. Good choice of drinks, well priced wines. Breakfast was very good. Staff friendly and efficient.

Food wasn't great. We had fish cakes which were odd as they almost 'bounced' in our mouths and were covered in far too much bechamel sauce,they were also served with over cooked broccoli. We also ordered the vegetarian mushroom dish. It was pretty lacking,contained only basic mushrooms, it could have been elevated by having 2 or 3 types of mushrooms and some fresh herbs, the flavour was reasonable. It was served with watery, overcooked white rice which again, for the price, could have been wild rice or at least whole grain rice. If you're happy with fish and chips or burger and chips it probably would have been fine but the other fish and vegetarian dish are not up to standard.

The room was very well put together and clean. It is in a converted stable that is next to a beer garden and patio of a very nice English pub which had fantastic food! The hosts were fantastic and the stay was incredibly pleasant. At the pub, my wife and I had the homemade pie and Kiev, two dishes the White Lion is known for. The food was terrific and lived up to the reputation. If we are ever in the area again, we will certainly go back!

The room was a little small but very manageable, specially for a short stay like ours.

The White Lion proved to be the perfect place to stay for my friend and I to explore the history of the area. Excellent rooms (we each had a king size ensuite room which was very comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you might possibly need) which were beautifully decorated and quiet. The staff were exceptional. Dinner was top notch - and filling - and breakfast was delightful! I look forward to eating here again. The courtyard and garden are a lovely sunny spots to while away an hour or two and the bar is cosy and friendly.

The room was fantastic with a downstairs sitting room and bathroom and an upstairs bedroom, all was really clean and looked recently decorated. The restaurant had a good choice of excellent quality food & drink at a reasonable price. Plenty of on-road parking. All the staff were friendly and helpful.

The venue, the staff, the room, the restaurant/bar were all really good, can't fault anything.

Set in a really pretty village, we were amazed that the restaurant wasn't busier. Room was beautifully decorated and staff were very friendly and helpful.

In general we loved it, only thing I'd say was that the room is a little on the small side (unavoidable as they've been converted from outbuidings which were not very deep) so there isn't much room to put your luggage.

Beautiful location, next to a wonderful country pub. We had dinner at the pub which was lovely. The room itself was extremely clean and very fresh and new. Had everything we needed.

The bedroom ceiling is very low, I hit way head when I first got up and I’m only short. It didn’t bother me because it added to the charm but probably not ideal for someone very tall.

Fantastic location, we arrived and went for an 8K hike, taking in the local scenery and wildlife. The pub was nice & comfy with the real fires burning away. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room itself was a decent size with everything you need. Bathroom was a good size too with a large shower which had good water pressure & nice & hot. Bed was really comfy which twinned with the absolute silence at night made for a great nights sleep. We had an evening meal and a breakfast during our stay which were both delicious, plentiful & value for money. All in all a very good trip.

Can honestly say that we didn't dislike anything about our stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, including the breakfast. The pub itself is a real traditional old English pub with good beer and was obviously a very popular place. Would certainly go again if in the area.

If I was looking for negatives, the only slight downside was that the pub does not have a car park. However, we had no problem parking in the lane right by the pub within sight of our room.

Breakfast was top shelf. Customised fullenglish. Extra free coffee. Room set apart from the pub. It was quiet. Recently renovated and very comfy. Pub had local real ales. Food excellent. Location great. Good for days out or walks to other local pubs along Meon Valley line railway walk both directions. Top London chef does great Indian food in pub 20 mins away. Staff helpful and very friendly. Very recommended 👌

Parking a bit tricky but no problem. Remote village and always a space. Minor issue no dedicated car park.
