Holiday Inn Fareham Solent, an IHG Hotel

The staff from our welcoming evening receptionist ,female night porter , bar staff , restaurant breakfast manager and pool receptionist were all friendly , helpful and resourceful. The breakfast was beyond what we expected and again the personalised interactions were both helpful and of the right duration . A good location for a stay within easy motorway access and both airport and cruise departures

It wasn’t a dislike more acceptance that for a large hotel the bar area was rather small and on both our late Friday night arrival and Saturday evening return early for drinks we found the bar seating area at capacity .

friendly staff room was excellent and very clean good facilities inc fridge and tea/coffee nice bathroom

had dinner in the restaurant. nice food but very expensive. only ate there for the convenience swimming pool not great. changing rooms dirty. under 16’s can’t use jacuzzi (disappointed 14 year old who is able to go in jacuzzi at our local gym). not the most relaxing area. I didn’t realise it was £5 per night to park. why? it’s out of town and there was always plenty of space. don’t really see why I had to pay extra. no extra charge for other hotels close by. wish I had checked

The bed was comfortable and the hot water was lovely, the requested early check-in much appreciated

The carpet was literally thread bare around the bathroom door. We were left with literally no toilet roll on entering the room, having Been out all day ,resulting in a trip to reception which was truly not needed after a family event and a journey of 250 miles! The reception on complaint were curt and slightly aggressive. " we only replace toilet rolls when they are empty ". We hadn't even been in the room , only to change for 10 minutes! They did however deliver 2 fresh toilet rolls shortly afterwards

Staff excellent.

Charged twice for meal, mistakes do happen, however, I think reason may be that there is too many staff attending to the customers for example, one of the staff gave us the bill ( charged to room so no payment made at the time) then another staff member came over to ask if we wanted the bill! We were also overcharged in Rugby holiday inn the week before! We paid upfront for bed, breakfast and dinner but dinner was added to bill. Normally, we just pay and don't check but luckily on both occasions, we did. Bills were rectified

Very nice location, excellent staff: especially, Louise & Richard on the front desk, Tia, Nora, and Francesca in the restaurant. Lovely quiet room (111), very good breakfasts and acceptable if slightly limited restaurant menu. Excellent parking and very spacious inside the building all in very good order. Swimming pool excellent and included in our room hire.

Minor points, but to be considered: had to search for a salt cellar that worked, cutlery not always available when busy. No marmalade for breakfast for 3 mornings. Some families were very noisy(kids) and we couldn't easily find a quieter spot. Ran out of Stella lager. The wines were very expensive. No house wine at reasonable cost.

The property it’s self very modern and clean throughout our rooms were very clean. The staff made the stay they where all very polite and helpful!

It wasn’t there fault but put more people on the bar in the evenings especially for a Saturday, we had to keep waiting and there was a few that did also. Also in the day Saturday. You only seem to put one person on the bar but two on reception it didn’t make sense as the bar was busier… The only thing change wish you had more staff on. But the staff in general was fabulous just not enough of them :)

Extremely helpful and welcoming staff at front desk, great breakfast selection, easy access to swimming pool (we very much appreciated the opportunity/offer to swim evening and next morning!)

(This may not be the fault of Holiday Inn at all) The price I paid via Booking.com included an additional £5 for parking. I thought I'd pay this as it would work out the same as paying for parking once at the hotel, but it appears once there that parking is actually complimentary for guests.

breakfast was very good, rooms very good too.

When we arrived at the hotel a staff member who was checking us in asked for our car registration number. which he wrote down and he said he would put the details into the computer later. He never did this!!!!!!! when we got home we had a parking fine!! I rang the hotel and they did short out the issue straight away. Then we had another parking fine!! We rang the hotel again and again they short out the issue straight away. The lesson here is make sure you see the hotel reception staff put your car registration detail on the computer. I would still use this hotel again in the future.

It was close to where I wanted to be, clean and comfortable. The staff were courteous and helpful. Hotel very busy and only one person booking in I think more staff should be on reception at peak times when people booking in to avoid the long ques.

Noisy, children running around all over the place and could hear the people in the room above. I'd requested a room with a walk in shower, which had been confirmed by email but the one allocate had a bath with shower over. had to go back to reception and get this changed, 2nd room was excellent. complimentary water in rooms would be good.

Perfect location for a wedding in Titchfield The room was comfortable. We were able to check in early to change for the wedding thanks to the very accommodating manager. She was run off her feet with a wedding in the hotel but still took the time to help us.

The receptionist was less than helpful when checking in. I had called the day before to ask if we could have an early check in at 12 noon. I was told that although not guaranteed, it was most likely possible. The receptionist just said a blank 'No early check ins' without checking if a room was ready. A quick chat with the manager resolved the issue and I believe she had words with the receptionist. Excellent breakfast
