The location was ideal as we were a 2 minute walk from the bus stop and 5 minutes from the train station. We were right in the middle of Oxford in a very central location, with a whole range of places to eat and drink a quick stroll from the hotel. The staff were really friendly also.

Considering the cost I was expecting something less basic. Also, as the old sash windows are single glazed, you can hear a lot of the noise from the street, including a pub across the road, in addition to the back doors of the theatre where equipment was being moved very late and very early. It’s important to note that this is out of the hotel’s control.

Excellent location right in the city centre. Comfortable. Easy access to rail station. So many restaurants around. Not very noisy. Good, powerful shower. Nice tea and coffee. One of the cheaper options to stay in the city centre.

No foot mat in bathroom. No wardrobe, just 2 rods in a corner with a couple of hangers. No breakfast options although there are excellent breakfast bars around. Kettle was coated with limescale, cups were discoloured

Location was perfect for spoon and the theatre, the bed was probably one of the best hotel beds I’ve stayed in for a long while it was firmer than most. The room was clean but not of the highest standard in my opinion but for a night it was ok.

We had a leak through the ceiling on the bathroom light coming from Upstairs. We didn’t report it as we first thought it was just the shower dripping and when we noticed it it was hardly anything at all but left a note for them to look at

Within walking distance from train station. Easy check in. 5 minutes walking distance of the theatre. Opposite a lovely pub. Location is perfect if you want to be near the city night life.

If you want a quiet night, this might not be the place for you, it is right in the centre of the action. This did not bother me. One reception staff member was there for check in then I didn't see anyone again, even when we left in the morning. It was ok, just felt a bit odd to leave the key on an empty desk and disappear!

The property is located on Red Lion Square, just off the main road with lots of places to eat. It was close to a cinema and within easy walking distance of the Westgate Shopping Centre. I was sent a text asking me to collect the key from the bubble tea shop, which has an entrance directly into the property. Entry was secure and I felt at ease in the room throughout my stay.

The square is used for a market and vehicles started to arrive before sunrise to unload and set up - the one downer of my stay. I saw no staff in the hotel side of the business either on check-in at 7pm nor when I checked out at 9am.

Great location. Welcoming, helpful staff. Room with a view (double room facing the Red Lion). 1 block from The Airline bus terminal (a great transit choice from Heathrow), walkable distance to railway station. Easy walk to all the top sites. Good food nearby. Quiet fan kept room cool during heat wave. Super ensuite bathroom. Very safe location. Great communication.

Fairly basic but clean comfy room in a fantastic location. Ashomolean is literally round the corner. Staff really friendly, this is perfect for a short stay. We used Redbridge Park and Ride, the 300 bus stops round the corner in George Street. The colleges are all in easy walking distance.

It's in a fairly noisy location, but ok after the pubs and restaurants close. If you like eating and drinking out then this is the perfect place to stay.

Comfortable, fairly small double room, en suite shower etc., opening windows. Easy afternoon check in, with friendly and helpful hotel staff.

Very noisy industrial fan in the commercial building over the road from our room, at recurrent intervals 24 hours a day. The water flow and temperature controls in the shower were a bit difficult.

Located right in the centre of Oxford and only a few minutes walk from the train station is perfect for walking around and visiting all the universities/museums and the markets! Loads of Pubs, cafes and restaurants around! The river is close by so it is really easy to go for a quiet walk there too! The staff was very welcoming and helpful! The rooms were nice and clean and in overall we enjoyed our stay!

Although soaps in the shower were provided they could have been of better quality.

Great location and very close to everything. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent

The room was opposite the air conditioning outlet for a building and this ran all night. Wasn't too loud in the room but you could hear it. The chair beside the bed was a bit awkward as well
