This hotel is positioned in a very convenient place to easily reach all other attractions in Oxford. The staff was helpful and especially I want to thank you Minakshi who was able to change our room with a better view after my request. The rooms were clean, with air conditioning, a small fridge, a safety box, and many more helpful items. In general, it was a pleasant stay. Happy to stay again or recommend it to family or friends only if the price is more reasonable.

I wished I could stay in the room with the view advertised during my booking from the first night. Breakfast wasn't included during my stay and for a price above £300.00/ night, I believe it was overpriced. Balconies needed a proper clean from spider nets.

The location of this hotel in the heart of the city could not have been better. We got around to all the places we wanted to visit without taking any public transportation. We could walk to it all. Staff were exceptional — friendly, reliable, knowledgeable about the city and university and always helpful. Our room was on Floor 1 (Floor 2 in the American classification) and we were in the front of the building. For anyone who is bothered by street noise, this room would not be a good choice. But we are night people and sleep well enough, so the partying — it was Halloween while we were there – did not bother us in the least. All in all, it was a wonderful stay.

Nothing much, really. We knew going in that it did not have a restaurant, but there are pubs, cafés, and restaurants up and down the street. Perhaps our room could’ve been a tad bigger, but we adjusted easily. The bed, by the way, was a king size and very comfy.

The location is excellent, in the middle of town, walking distance to every major site in Oxford. The staff was very kind and accommodating. We had a room at the back of the hotel where it is relatively quiet. This meant we could open the windows at night for fresh air, in stead of sleeping in the air conditioning, which we thought was a nice perk.

The description mentions it well, the room (double standard) was quite small. So was the bed (also described online). The mattress was very good, though.

The rooms are nice, just like the photos, but small. Heated bathroom floors are a very nice feature. The location is wonderful, within walking distance to everything in this beautiful city.

Room #109 is located directly behind the check in desk and should be avoided. We spent one night here and were awaken by the noisy stairwell door which is next to the room. I feel this room should be offered at a discount due to this. The staff were courteous and kind and moved us the next day when we complained.

Excellent location. Loved the balcony with view. Everything was in order and clean. Sofabed for our son in suite was handy for our son. Nice to have coffee machine and tea in the room. Great communication on room and bed options.

We only stayed 1 night so went great and can’t fault anything. Too bad they don’t have parking but used the Westgate shopping mall recommended. Would advise providing instructions how to get there as we had trouble finding entrance to the parking (using gps even).

This is a calm, comfortable, quietly luxurious hotel in a wonderful location in the center of Oxford. The personnel is very friendly and helpful which clearly must permeate from the owner's ambition, hiring, and family-like managing. Any problem that may arise will be rectified. The suites on 4th floor (which we rented) have wonderful relaxing balconies for two people to have coffee, wine, food or just to sit and work; as stated in ads there is no food service in hotel but just around the corner is a well stocked grocery store (Tesco) where one can purchase items for the good (and quiet) fridge in room. And of course, if one wishes cooked food there are great pubs and restaurants within minutes of walking distance.

Nothing. Just don't choose this hotel if you wish to have breakfast and other food/drink service within the hotel itself. That is simply not part of this very fine hotel so there is none of that (except cookies and coffee/tea in the suite where we stayed). PS. Do not get discouraged by front door entrance; it is "hidden" and can be hard to find if you arrive at night (due to a first floor renovation by the first floor proprietor).

The best hotel that we have been to in Europe. Very spacious rooms, bathroom with a tub. It was pristine from the moment we were greeted to the room. Extras were beyond our expectations! The tea, coffee and biscuits, amenities. A quaint hotel with so much more than any regular large hotel. Perfect location and quiet even though it's on a main street. The staff were all so helpful and kind! Would definitely stay here again.

Location was great! It is quiet even though it’s in the very center of the town. Staff is highly accommodating. Room is very comfortably appointed.

Rooms are very nice but tiny. There are some things that need fixing. Staff was great in changing our room due to nonworking light fixtures. In the new room, a washbasin spigot handle came flying off when we turned on the sink ( that was manageable to work around).

We upgraded our room to one with a terrace view and that made a significant difference. The location was fabulous - right near the bus station - and a about a 2/3 mile from the train. It was walkable to all of the Oxford main attractions and colleges. The front staff was super friendly - and we met the owner on our way out. Definitely stay here again on our return! The room was large - and the bathroom, as well. Great in-room coffee, fridge and terrace!

It was a bit expensive - but ultimately, that choice was ours to make (the cheaper room was about 100 pounds less).
