The hotel was situated in a quiet street but within easy walking distance of central Oxford and walks along the river. The room was large and comfortable and all the staff we met were very friendly. Wifi and TV worked fine for us.

The 'continental' breakfast is a diabetic's nightmare. Lots of sweet items and although you can ask for plain yoghurt and there was a good choice of fresh fruit, it is really hard to avoid sugar (and fat), so we felt it was really poor value for the price. We had sunny weather, but going from the bedroom to the breakfast room could be cold and wet in other weather.

My room was big and well furnished. The bed was very comfortable, the TV was enormous. The staff were all very accommodating.

I paid for breakfast in advance but wasn’t told this was only the continental options. I was charged £15 for a full English breakfast on top of the £13 I had already paid for breakfast. The breakfast was good, but not nearly £30 good! My bedroom was on the ground floor and the windows were on the street. I felt rather exposed when I was in there as people walking to their rooms or down the street could see into my room.

The room was larger than expected and had the added bonus of a useable kitchen area. The rooms are accessed by a side door, which made it feel very private. The complimentary full English breakfast on our first morning was very welcomed, and while we didn't make use of the cafe/bar at other times, it was nice to know it was available. The location couldn't have been better; the hotel is in a residential street just two minutes walk from the river and around five minutes from the central shopping area and attractions.

It would be useful if more information could be provided on the website about car parking. We had to phone the hotel when we arrived because there was nowhere to pull over to ask for directions.

The reception staff were so kind, when I checked in they instantly upgraded my room (without me asking) to a ground floor room when they saw that I had a very large suitcase so that I wouldn't have to carry it upstairs! Although the windows in the room didn't open, the air conditioner was extremely efficient to cool down the room which warmed up very quickly during the day. The provided continental breakfast was very generous and varied!

The room was directly opposite the cafe's kitchen, so I was woken up by their loud chatter early every morning! Only a small thing but very irritating. It's really quite inaccessible to oxford, even if you're quite a fit walker! It's a good 15 minute walk to the nearest sites (eg. Christ church college), and the nearest public transport is a bus stop about a 10 min walk, so you really need to take a taxi if you're travelling to oxford by train. Only a small thing, but the electric blanket under the sheets was very uncomfortable and definitely not needed in spring/summer! Made for a very uncomfortable bed!

The Ethos Hotel had a bit of local character and the location near the river, the main streets & collages suited us although busses didn't stop nearby so there was a lot of walking required. (We are in our 80's) The restaurant close by was a bonus. The staff are friendly & helpful, restaurant had good food & cocktails so no need to go out again at the end of a days exploration plus quick, good breakfast made it a pleasant stay

As overseas visitors we had great trouble accessing emails & this place sent endless communications 10 in all about totally unwanted extras add-ons, feed back over & over again totally unnecessary for a one night stay . May have been worthwhile if we were staying a while. There should be a stop on information & feedback requests if not answered lets say the second time they are sent.

This is a great 'home from home' in Oxford and we would definitely stay here again. It's a short walk from the city centre (very nice walk, too) and they guaranteed us a parking space, which is hard to find in Oxford. Our room was spacious, and contained facilities we didn't expect like a kettle, fridge, microwave and proper desk which came in handy as we were able to load up on CHEESE from the excellent Oxford Cheese Company in the covered market. If you were staying in Oxford for several days for work, it would also be very handy I'd imagine. We had an evening meal in the hotel's own restaurant (they do a deal if you book this in advance) and it was excellent in terms of the food and the value, plus a really nice experience. The breakfast spread and hot and cold options were also great - do try their Polish cinnamon rolls. The staff cannot do enough for you.

Not a criticism, but the hotel is split into two properties which are across the road from each other. This confused us when we first arrived!

Everything! Nothing was too much for the staff. Very pleasant and helpful. The room was very comfortable, lots of add ons like complimentary hot chocolate sachets in the room, excellent air-conditioning and very quiet and peaceful neighbourhood. The city centre is a 15-20 min walk by foot but one can take a path along the river. It was just lovely. Could hear birds chirping and getting a good feel of the city. Cafe ethos right across was also very nice and we had one of our better afternoon teas whilst there. Would go back without thinking twice.

We stayed in a room above the Ethos Cafe as the hotel is spread across two buildings across the road from each other. We ate (delicious pizza) and had cocktails (also delicious) at the cafe which was very convenient The hotel is situated perfectly. It is in a quiet residential area - two minutes walk from the river and five minutes from the city centre. Our room was clean and spacious with everything we needed - tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave; iron and ironing board; and a huge TV with all the channels you could need. The super- king size bed was very comfortable. Even with the window open, there was barely any traffic or people noise.

Getting into one of the parking areas was a bit tight - but that may say more about my driving than the place.

I loved the location, which was not too far away from the City Center (about 15-20 minutes walking distance), with a beautiful walking pathway along the Thames. The facility is cozy and comfortable. An elevator would have been a plus. The room, although small, was airy and comfortable, with everything one needs in a room.

Not suitable for people with accessibility needs, but otherwise, very nice.

The staff at the hotel were fabulous. Hotel itself is located across more than one site, initially we wondered if we were in the right place when we arrived as it did not look like the photos. Room was a great size and very warm as we visited in winter. It was an easy walk into Oxford so a good location. Carparking available if you book it - but it costs extra. The breakfast was fab, and the team in the restaurant were great, as were the reception team.

The plug in the shower was stuck but managed to unplug it eventually. No views at all the room is functional and comfortable but not somewhere you would want to spend a lot of time in.
