Very quiet room, lovely garden views. Small peaceful hotel. 2 doors between the room and the corridor, so no noise. Good breakfast, included in the price, in a nice conservatory. Excellent coffee machine - the best I've ever seen! Also good coffee in the room, tea, biscuits... Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Good location, 15 mn walk from the centre, and next to a bus stop.

Some details could easily be improved: not enough light in the room (although the staff promptly provided another lamp); a coat hanger in the room is badly needed; so is a second chair (also provided on request); the toilet seat was inadequate, and very wobbly; more importantly, the tv/wifi sometimes didn't work; and the mattress was too soft for us. But our stay was a very pleasant one.

This is an old characterful property, oppoiste Lady Margaret Hall, so a good area, between central Oxford and Summertown, IMHO all the benefit of Oxford without the frenetic crowds. My room was comfortable, pristine and had a nice view over the garden, it was warm and well evntilated. It was at the top of a long flight of stairs - no worries for me - but may not suit everyone. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. It stopped it being just short of perfect because of the breakfast and being a little old fashioned (on the other hand, it's probably better to say it's unpretentious). I'd definitely stay here again as the staff are nice, it feels safe and warm and is in an absolutely brilliant location - if you'd rather be 10-15 minutes easy walk from the centre of Oxford but have a decent deli etc near by.

It was not cheap - but then this is Oxford. For Oxford, it's probably good value. The breakfast was a little disappointing - I understand why they don't do cooked breakfast, but I would have liked some options which didn't involve sugary cereals or spreads - no problem as I easily walked into town for my high octane coffee and fresh croissant (plus there are other options closer).

The room was spacious enough for a one night stay and the tea/coffee tray was well stocked. All the usual equipment such as ironing board, hair dryer etc were supplied

The organisation at breakfast could be better. There was only one staff member - the receptionist doubling as the waitress at breakfast. The hotel was full and she was having to be reactive than proactive, such as waiting for things to run out before replenishing. Also the conservatory where breakfast was served was rather cramped and one had to run an obstacle course to reach one's table when most of them were occupied.

This is a lovely hotel - a hidden gem on a quiet road. We booked 4 different rooms for family attending our daughter's graduation and everyone was pleased and very comfortable with their rooms which were all spacious and very well equipped. Very nice breakfast which we eat in the conservatory one morning and in the sunny garden the next. Coffee was gorgeous ! Angie was super friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome - nothing was too much trouble for her in making our stay happy and relaxed. Everyone wants to go back !

A nice hotel in a leafy road not far from the city centre with everything you could need. The breakfast is self-service but there are a good number of options (and while no served hot breakfast there is toast with warmed beans and tomatoes). It is in a lovely old, well-kept building with very high ceilings. The room and hotel are very clean and there is parking available at the hotel (either in front of the hotel or on the street with a free parking permit).

A hot served breakfast would be awesome but it's also fine without it. The room was also quite cold.

Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Helpful staff. All needs in bedroom met - comfortable bed, power sockets, hot drinks and biscuit, very good shower, reasonable space, quiet… Breakfast was fine, not 5* but good range of food, good coffee - hosts had made an effort. Free parking!! Walking distance to city centre, nice café and pub 5 min away.

Surfaces in bedroom could do with a dust!

The family room was beautiful, comfortable and well-equipped. The room was cleaned every day. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a large variety with flakes, juices, porridges, noodle soups, toasts, etc. The hotel situates on a quiet street and beautiful area. The bus stop is only a few minutes away. There was a grocery store on the North Parade Avenue (around 5min on foot) opened from 9am to 9pm. More grocery stores in Summertown or in the city right at the Magdalen Street bus stop.

Amazing space- our room was wonderful and we loved walking in the garden. A quiet location while still being walkable to town and great restaurants. We visited with our infant daughter and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and make or lives a bit easier (especially helpful when travelling with a baby!). My husband and I both went to Oxford and come back to visit quite frequently- we are absolutely planning to return to St Margaret's Hotel.

Easy to reach with a bus and very quiet area. I haven’t slept so well in a long time. The room was small, but for a one night stay absolutely fine, I liked the kettle with a variation of coffee and tea. The staff is very nice as well and helpful. Breakfast was amazing too - loved the fluffy scrambled eggs.

Interestingly the remote to the TV was broken as were the curtains to darken the room. A quick call fixed this issue though.

This place clearly listens to guest feedback. All of the usual problems at a B&B style hotel were taken care of without having to ask (curtains thick enough to actualy stop light, thick fire doors to stop noise, shower that works at a specified temperature etc). I especially liked the store of top-ups (coffee loo rolls shampoos biscuits(!!) etc) in the lobby that you could help yourself to if you ran out, what a lovely touch! Amazing location for exploring Jericho and Summertown and the amazing bars amd restaurants therein.

No phone signal in the lobby, and that is me scraping the bottom of the barrel for a complaint, everything else was wonderful.
