Foundry 340

From the time we arrived until departure my colleagues and I all had an exceptional stay. First impressions upon arrival were excellent and this continued throughout our stay of almost two weeks. There's an abundance of great restaurants and eateries in Penrith but we found that there was no real need to venture far from the Foundry when looking for a great dining experience. Food in the restaurant is absolutely top class with very generous portions and very reasonable prices. Rooms and bathrooms are pristine and nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff at the Foundry. I honestly can't rate my stay highly enough and look forward to returning hopefully in the near future. Huge thanks to all members of staff for making our stay so fantastic. 5+ Stars from me.

I can't think of anything that needed improving. My stay far exceeded my expectations.

This visit was part of a bike-packing trip. I arrived an hour before check-in time, but I was very grateful that they accommodated an early check-in so I could use the shower. Very friendly staff! I was able to book dinner for both nights in the restaurant and the pasta of the week was delicious. Very clean rooms and top-quality bathroom.

I received information from the hotel prior to the visit on potential night-life noise on weekends, which was present, but with some earplugs it didn't bother me too much. I could store my bike in a secured shed, but felt a bit edgy as this was also a space for food preparation and occasionally the door was open. Nothing happened though and I had a chainlock as extra protection :).

The staff were very friendly and helpful; the room was spotless, very nicely decorated and looked brand new; the room was quiet, warm and comfortable, with a good large shower, and all the bits and pieces I needed (hairdryer, kettle, iron, etc). The breakfast was good and the staff were quick to take and bring my order. It was within easy walking distance from the station, with plenty of shops etc nearby. I thought it might be a little noisy thanks to traffic and possibly noise from the restaurant, but in fact it was very quiet. A really comfortable and pleasant stay, and very good value.

Room was a little small but that was not a problem. We had room 1. Which we found was very noisy ,but this was not the Foundry 34 problem. Noise from Kidd's fish and chip wagon and lorries turning in the carpark . The eating is was very good the staff friendly but beware book a table to eat before you go as it gets busy in the restaurant in the evenings . Also at weekends live music .

Good location , had food below , looked modern and comfortable for a nights stay . Food was great and value for money.

Constant ticking from air con machine even when turned off . Woke me up constantly through the night of that hadn’t of been the case stay would of been perfect . Check out staff could of Been a bit nicer as in thanks for staying here hope to see you again rather than just leave the key card on reception thanks .

On my evening of arrival there was a noisy private party in the first floor dining room but very pleasingly I could hear no sound of this from inside my room on the floor above. Good breakfast, whole establishment very clean and modernised. Next door to Spar shop and post office, on the edge of the town centre with easy access to it.

I had single occupancy of a double room but the double bed left limited space for storage etc. The wi-fi was of variable speed, good enough on the first night but I had problems downloading even quite small files thereafter.

An amazing place. I stayed overnight in a good sized room with a huge bed that was incredibly comfy. The room was clean and bright with blinds plus thick curtains were helpful for a good nights sleep. Great walk in shower and nice toiletries. I met friends for dinner which was well presented and tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful. A lovely first visit but it won’t be my last.

Very comfy room. Good night's sleep. Breakfast was good and they actually served the juice in a proper glass rather than that 1 sip rubbish you get at major hotels. Sounds silly but that really bugs me! Bathroom was very clean with a good shower. Good Central location.

Had a bit of fun with parking to begin with- don't park behind as its a private car park. Was asked to leave at 10am on Monday despite Booking.com showing a 11am checkout.

Lovely rooms and restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. Everything very clean. Delicious breakfast. I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Parking a little awkward. Spaces just outside are free between 6pm and 8am but then limited to 1 hour. We moved cars to pay and display across the road by the bus station but then we obviously had to make it out before the time we'd paid for ran out. Admittedly not much the property can do about this but just be aware.

We were checked in by a very helpful young man who was very kind and helped carry our bags upstairs. Very nice breakfast. Plenty of tea and coffee sachets / packets etc.

The room was smaller than expected, and there wasn't a bedside table on one side of the bed. There was only 1 bath towel, but a member of staff brought up a second one very promptly. There were other guests returning back to Foundry 34 through the night and up to 02:30 - very loud, lots of laughing and conversations in the corridor, and very loud footsteps/stomping. Unable to sleep
