Southcrest Manor Hotel; BW Signature Collection

The staff are exceptional - they go over and beyond and we loved the evening meal. Don't expect a posh hotel - but instead if you want somewhere where you don't feel out of place or afraid to move around like some places Southcrest is the place. The staff always speak and go over and beyond and the food is quality and good sized portions. The building is lovely but I would think it would cost a lot to keep up and if it were to be perfect the price would reflect it too and I would not have stayed there. When you stay away the most important thing is the way you are treated - with respect which we were. Fin was especially nice and attentive in the restaurant. We felt the staff were working together and were like a family atmosphere. Well done and thank you for making our stay amazing. It was also family friendly.

We didn't dislike anything but some carpets in the hallways could be better and the TV signal was poor but as I say above if it were to be better I am sure the price would be higher. I would not like it to be a place where it would feel posh and stuffy especially with a child.

The Southcrest Manor Hotel is located in a quiet little corner of Redditch, surrounded by greenery and a place where you can unplug your mind. Stayed for 2 nights because we wanted to visit Cotswold from here and had family in town. Dated antique building on the outside, modern vibrant interiors on the inside. 32" tele, solid beds with comfy duvet and soft mattresses. 5☆ bathroom with thick absorbant towels. Full tea service in room with kettle, coffees, teabags and complimentary snacks and biscuits. Didn't book breakfast this time, but definitely will next time. Beautiful green old school garden in the backyard and spa accomodations makes this place a gem to enjoy to the fullest. Highly Highly recommended!

They allocated our room possibly in the furthest corner of the hotel, from reception, go up a floor, go through 2 long corridors, go down 2 floors, then at the very end of this corridor, next to the fire exit were our rooms. Didn't really mind it, most likely because there was a loud wedding undergoing near the reception the day we arrived, but definitely would've preferred it to be a little closer to the entrance

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a huge bed. The shower unit is one of my favourites in any hotel I've been in; room to manoeuvre and easy to use with a wonderful relaxing flow to it. The kettle is a bit too big for the sink, but it's great to have that size. The place was very quiet even with a massive wedding party on on the Saturday. We ordered the Laura Ashley afternoon tea to take out and it was delicious (the plain scones were amazing) and very good value at £15. The breakfast had a new addition of overnight oats, cold meat and cheese and a fruit platter - excellent. We had an evening meal one night which had one of the best starters I've ever tasted, tea smoked duck with plum kimchi coleslaw and hoi sin sauce. All the while the staff are friendly and attentive and you feel really looked after.

I couldn't get along with the pillows for some reason, they seemed a little flat and firm. Having vegetarian sausages out at breakfast would be wonderful, as well as a choice of oat and soya milk. I used to like the individual cafetieres with fresh coffee in, the coffee urn was okay but not quite as luxurious/full bodied in flavour. I got a little thirsty in the room and the cold water was a bit warm from the bathroom tap. I'm not sure if there's a water cooler somewhere that I missed, but that would be a welcome addition to an already excellent hotel.

The hotel is a handsome building set in lovely well kept leafy grounds. It is very well kept and decorated. There is a large conservatory and outside space overlooking the gardens. Although not far from main roads and close to the heart of Redditch, the hotel itself is very quiet. The staff were welcoming helpful and friendly. The room was luxurious, tastefully decorated, great bathroom, Huge comfortable bed. The breakfast was buffet style offering a large range from cereals and yoghurt to full English. The food was well cooked. This is a superior hotel, and highly recommended. Would certainly stay there again.

Comfy beds, good shower. Lovely breakfast. This is a really nice hotel, within close proximity of our family.

Room advertised on website as having a 'garden view' was , in fact, 75% brick wall on the ground floor looking out towards a carpark. We did think that as we had booked a 'garden view' as per the superior double rate that this was what we would have. It was very disappointing, and i let reception know. Sadly, the girl on reception was unable to do anything about this as there were no other rooms available. She did seem rather disinterested in my plight as i am sure this is a common complaint!

The staff in the Spa were excellent - Donna and her younger colleague were amazing - very flexible as we constantly chopped and changed everything but nothing was too much trouble. Check-in was easy, rooms were great, food was really good.

We came down for a pre-dinner drink at 5.30ish - no tomato juice for a bloody mary and even more bizzarly, no ice. Ice apparently only gets refilled when the next shift arrive at 6. Sub-optimal if I'm honest - I know it's a petty thing to raise but it didn't match the rest of the experience we had. Wine was also a little slow to arrive at the table. We ordered the wine first then the food which was perfect. The food however arrived first. Again, not a crisis but as you are looking for feedback....

The staff had put us in adjoining rooms as requested. Unfortunately, they were ground floor rooms and as a lone female I didn't feel comfortable as I wanted the windows open. The Reception staff were great and managed to relocate us. I've stayed here several times before. Nice grounds in woodland. Doesn't feel like you're in a town. Good bar service. Good breakfast. Big car park. Short drive to restaurants, pubs, Asda. Not far from M42.

Very nice country feel hotel close to local facilities and also only a short drive into Redditch town centre. It's a nice property at a lovely location although close to built up area it's very much got a country feel with lovely lawns and trees everywhere - you may hear some traffic from the roads but you would do well to spot a moving car it's kind of tranquility but in the urban environment. We did not eat there as we had other plans but in the bar / tearoom area I saw food being served (I think not restaurant menu) but it looked very nice. The restaurant is a separate room which looked also very nice with view of the back lawns / garden as does the bar area and tearoom. In Redditch there are many cheap parking spaces in the Kingfisher shopping centre which on a Monday was lovely. It's clean with very many different shops much underrated I'd say. I mean Redditch where's that ! Well now I know where it is and it was quite pleasant to be honest and my stay at the hotel even more so.

You could not ask for such amazing staff, nothing was too much trouble for them, the maintenance gentleman went above and beyond, we went when the weather was at it worse snow more snow and let's add a bit more snow, he came in early and made sure the car park and road was clear so all cars could get out, he was just so helpful and I cannot say how great he was, staff at reception also great and the night porter was great company when I could not sleep and we were doing snow watch together sure he wished I would go back to bed so he could have some peace, food was really good and had many choices for gluten free, chef was so helpful making sure I had the correct food, will be back please keep your staff,

Excellent service for dinner & a varied menu to choose from. A good selection at the buffet breakfast. Room with lovely view of the garden, usual facilities with hospitality tray & hair dryer, & a very comfortable bed. Staff were exceptionally professional & helpful during the evening when we were evacuated during the fire alarm incident. Guests were kept informed regularly & allowed to return to their rooms with in the hour.

Some minor maintenance issues were reported during my stay, these were dealt with swiftly. The breakfast buffet was varied, but would have preferred the fresh fruit to have been in the form of a salad. Pieces of fruit were cut up & placed in the chiller. Some guests choosing fruit could find it difficult to cut the fruit up smaller or struggle to remove the skin.
