Holiday Inn Express Droitwich Spa, an IHG Hotel

Both fulfilled expectations. We were visiting friends, had stayed there twice on previous overnight stays and chose the hotel because we were happy with it. Comfortable beds, clean rooms and all areas of hotel we went into were clean, free off road parking, staff very welcoming & helpful, friendly atmosphere, breakfast included. For an overnight or few night stay, it suited us.

Cleanliness of cups provided for drinks at breakfast. Perhaps a new dishwasher is needed. Plates, cutlery etc all clean. Did mention this at reception as we left & felt our concern was taken seriously & shortcoming would be rectified.

The location was perfect just off the M5 as we were travelling from the Norh to Cornwall for a holiday. We had a very quiet room we were impressed with the sound proofing as there was no noise from the motorway traffic! The beds were firm and very comfortable. The air conditioning was absolutely fabulous and meant we got a good nights sleep. The breakfast was great. We actually gave this hotel an eleven out of 10 as it suited us so well.

The hotel is too close to the McDonalds and you get caught up in their traffic. A little more parking area would be better.

Very good welcome from member of staff, Dave, who was on duty when we arrived. He offered us a free upgrade which was very welcome and was helpful throughout that afternoon and evening. Room was quiet, spacious and comfortable. We appreciated the availability of a bar to have a quiet relaxing drink before dinner.

Breakfast was a bit underwhelming. As non meat eaters, we would have appreciated tomatoes and mushrooms in the hot breakfast selection and a wider choice of yoghurts, e.g., plain. However, veggie sausages were prepared on request, which was good.

Great location on the M5. Parking was directly outside. Check in was smooth. Staff were super friendly and professional and bent over backwards to make sure my feather allergy was accommodated in advance although it turned out the bedding was synthetic anyway so that was fine. Room was amply furnished and comfortable with a clever doored lavatory in the bathroom which afforded privacy as well as leaving the rest of the bathroom accessible. There are snacks in the bar till 8pm and a few eateries closeby including the Harvester which was fine for what I needed, and a MacDonalds opposite. Breakfast was okay. Generally I prefer continental style (hams, cheeses etc) but there was a reasonable British breakfast on offer and a quick to reference allergy guide by the kitchen door so that made it easy to see what was in what. If you are looking for a sumptuous or romantic hotel stay this won't be it, but for a night en route somewhere, it's perfect.

the staff were extremely friendly and helpful upon arrival, the rooms were clean, spacious, and had all the facilities that we needed. Aswell as the opportunity to have access to any items (i.E. toothpaste, sanitary items, brush or combs) if they had been forgotten. the location was lovely especially after a long days drive, options for outside the hotel was McDonald’s, a harvester and there was also a shop within a 2 minute walking distance, other options were also available if you wanted to drive or if you was willing to walk a little longer. we had breakfast in the morning before our check out which was lovely, there was a fantastic option of food as well as gluten free options.

option for food within the hotel was very minimum as they advertised 24 hr pizza, however, when walking into the lobby which oversees the dining area it was hard to find if that option was still available. I would recommend maybe a small dinner menu available of the option to eat at the hotel as some people may not want to leave again after a long day.

I writing this review on behalf of my father (over here from USA) and his American wife. Holiday Inn Express did everything to accommodate them, especially when their flight home was aborted as they didn’t have his green card on his possession. For the two days the hotel was full, HIE kindly found them space at another hotel, but kindly had them back for the last few days before their rescheduled flight once his green card turned up.

Great hotel as all holiday in express are. Location was just perfect..just off the motorway. Around 20-30 minutes to Birmingham center which is ideal. Cheap and affordable. Breakfast was included but breakfast has really gone downhill in holiday inn expresses. Here it was particularly terrible. Juice was full of sugar, coffee very weak. Good that we had option of vegetable sausage but they were not worth eating. Croissants were good. Yogurt good but just plain available with fresh fruits. Was ok. Rooms were neat, beds were a bit too springi. All holiday in express have same sinks and all are terrible. Water path is not defined and hence all water drips forward in your feet. Not good feeling. Shower was good. Water was pleasantly hot. There is a mc donalds and indian restaurant just next to the hotel.

We have stayed here before so we happy with everything as before.

Our first room had an adjoining room and the people in there tried to get into our room. I called reception and spoke to Amy. She was very helpful and within a minute she had come up with another room key for us to change rooms which didn’t have adjoining room to it. We thank led her and appreciated her doing this and we thanked her again the following morning upon checkout. Amy is a credit to the holiday inn

Checking in was easy and quick. Happy that room was ok. The breakfast was very good and all in all the hotel is value for money. The location is very convenient.

Unfortunately, not having a plug for the sink for my husband to have a shave. We did ask one staff, said they would sort it but didn't come back to us. The next staff member wasn't sure but thought it was because the item was being stolen. Even though we were able to make tea in our room, it wasn't possible to enjoy tea at breakfast due to the tainted water.

Room was lovely, clean and spacious. Plenty of choice for breakfast, although cooked items were very minimal. Plenty of parking and easy to access from the motorway. A great location to visit the attractions in the area. A lovely dog friendly hotel.

My only critisism is that they don't provide a small separate section of the dining room for guests to dine with the dog. The hotel could easily manage this as I have seen it in other HI Express hotels. You cannot leave the dog unattended in the room (which I wouldn't do anyway) so split shifts for breakfast may be the only option. They offered us a coffee table which is not adequate to eat breakfast from. As the hotel was not terribly busy, they were able to give us a dining table away from other diners which was fine but this was an exception as our dog was in a pushchair. We really appreciated this as we always ask if we can dine with the dog prior to booking any hotel. It's a shame, as we would have had an evening meal there too, if there was a separate area for doggie diners.
