Very clean modern rooms, great decor. Staff friendly Perfect location opposite Scaling dam for a walk / swim and watch the sail boats. Would thoroughly recommend the adventure golf too, it is brilliant and a complete bargain!

Breakfast service was a bit erratic, and could have been a larger variety of veggie/vegan options.

A warm welcome and really friendly staff. The room was really clean and very comfortable, nicely decorated. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast and Lamb hotpot and cooked breakfasts were very good too. The location suited us and we enjoyed the 4.6km walk around Scaling Dam (go clockwise!) We would definitely stay there again!

The kitchen closed quite early (Our stay was Sunday to Tuesday) Orders by 7pm on Sunday and 6pm on Mon & Tues. It's not an old Country pub inside, with lots of beers on tap, but there was Black Sheep draught beer and lager on offer. It is a tea room aswel with lovely cakes!

The breakfasts were excellent , well cooked and always served hot.The location is also very good on main road between Saltburn and Whitby. The hotel has been well restored to a very high standard and is very clean and comfortable.

We were at the back in room 9 which was just below the roof space so the room did not have full standing height across the whole width. As i am over six foot tall I had to stoop quite a bit.It was also very hot in there as the only windows were of the velux type in the roof.We could also hear road noise more than we thought. The room could do with some storage for clothes or a wardrobe as there is only three hooks to hang cloths on.The evening meals had a limited choice and all food had to be ordered by 6pm which was a bit early. We did eat in the restaurant and both the food and service were very good.

We found the staff were friendly and eager to please and ensure we were enjoying our stay. Our breakfast was very good and plentiful. We had just the one evening meal on our arrival day - beef buns with chips, delicious! Our room, like the rest of the Inn, was comfortable and tastefully decorated.

The bathroom is showing signs of wear and tear but only to be expected at the end of season. Our only issue was that there was a slight smell of drains - this soon cleared at the opening of our window, closing sink plug and keeping bathroom door closed. Not enough of an issue to worry us.

This was our second visit to The Coaching Inn , our first was a stop for something to eat and we were very impressed so we decided on an overnight stay a few months later , and we weren't disappointed .The staff were fantastic , David met us to check us in , he is an asset to the Coaching Inn also the same for Sam ,who even remembered us from a previous visit, the room we booked could not have been any better spotless and with with lovely views ,evening meal and breakfast were great to . We will certainly return for a longer stay in the future . Thanks again ,keep up the great work .

We had an amazing experience at the Jack and Jill. We stayed here the evening of our wedding and had a bbq in conservatory the day before with friends and family. The mini golf went down a treat with all the guests. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful, Keith in particular was amazing in the led up to the wedding, he done all the research and found the outside catering company, he answered all my questions and the evening booking transport. The morning of the wedding Keith was on hand again bringing us coffee, breakfast and prosecco. The view from the room was gorgeous, it was so calming to see the beautiful Dam while I was getting my hair and make up done. They cleaned the room after all the bridesmaid got ready in it in preparation for the wedding night and got us a card and processo. The hotel was beautiful and modern, in a great location and only 10 minutes away from Danby Castle. The perfect hotel with the BEST staff. I loved everything about it.

Friendly, helpful staff on arrival. Unusually the hotel is unmanned overnight (10pm - 9am), but we were given access keys and a contact number in case of any problem. The hotel is located overlooking the Scaling Dam, a large reservoir offering a range of water sports and delightful view. Rear of hotel has open views to crop fields. Plenty of parking alongside the building. The hotel is a Grade II listed building, but has been totally refurbished to give bright, modern, clean rooms and facilities. Breakfast was tasty and generous, with efficient friendly service. WiFi worked well. While no evening meals were available, staff recommended a local pub which offered large portions of tasty food. We liked the hotel and would recommend it. Everything looked so new that we thought it had only just opened, but had in fact been running for a year since completion of the refurbishment.

Very minor point - Our room, located at opposite end of building from the reception, required passing through several fire doors along the corridor. The payoff was that no other guests tramped past our room.

The old coaching inn had been renovated and was beautiful. Service was top rate.

I had emailed that I was walking the Cleveland Way. The address given was misleading and I was on foot. It is miles and miles from Saltburn. The employee there said other people had also done the same thing...winding up miles from the Cleveland Way. I had to take 3 uncoordinated buses to get there, actually by bus, returning to the village I had walked from that morning and going beyond it. They had stopped serving meals. I was so late arriving. I think someone should have contacted me to let me know the Inn is not in the village of Saltburn. It cost me money for a taxi to the Cleveland Way next morning.

I was travelling with my teenage son for a sailing training weekend at Scaling Dam, literally across the road, so the location was perfect, plus you get the great view from the hotel across the Dam! Our room was perfect for the two of us, quirky and cleverly designed around the buildings architecture, we had enough space for our belongings and some, a dressing table, two chairs and the bed, which was wonderfully comfortable and assisted with a great few nights sleep! Our shower room was also wonderfully spacious, with a large and powerful shower as well as heated towel rails and enough space to change and move! It was also wonderfully bright! The whole hotel, restaurant, the toilets and our room were beautifully clean and tidy, with tasteful decor throughout! And housekeeping did a fabulous job on our room, even arranging our teddies for us! Breakfast was delicious too and really set us up for the day! The menu had a wide selection on offer to meet all requirements, but I would highly recommend the Jack and Jill breakfast! Fresh ingredients, beautifully cooked, it was wonderful! However, I feel what really made our stay so enjoyable, were the staff. Everyone we encountered were fantastic, so polite, helpful, knowledgable. They honestly could not do enough to help, be it assisting us with luggage, or bringing me another coffee, the staff were all wonderful!

It was not that we did not like something (because it was all wonderful!) just a little confusing about what time breakfast was to start; the information on check-in and in the room stated 9am but the menus down in the dinning area stated from 8:15am and some people definitely seemed to be eating before 9am, but I'm certain if I asked, it would have all been clarified!
