Felt the smaller room was a tad overpriced, even with only two of us with minimal luggage we felt cramped, little things like simple hooks on the back of the door for your coats/jackets would’ve helped, the “Wardrobe” is a bit compact and easily filled, the rules around consuming food or alcohol not bought on the premises seem a bit “Draconian”

Very unique hotel with a lot of character. Breakfast was high quality. The adjacency of the farm and its animals was a very nice addition. A lot of effort put into small details in the room to maintain the character of the hotel. Generally quiet and atmospheric.

The room, although nice, was quite small.

The house, the site is wonderful, warm, comfortable bar and dining room, absolutely outstanding and friendly staff (every one a real credit to the business), good food, comfortable bed, comfortable and clean room, Tea making facilites provided, nice bathroom with walk in shower, WiFi that works as advertised, excellent parking. Noted that it is an outstanding potential venue for weddings.

I don't know if this applies to all rooms, but there were no coat hooks for outside wear. It was necessary to drape jackets etc on the floor. There is an empty wall by the door alongside the bathroom that can accommodate 6 or 8 hooks easily. Wardrobe space is too small, and only 3 clothes hangers. No air con - not a problem in March, but although a fan is provided it could get rather warm in summer. A common problem in UK hotels and also in this one is lack of a handrail in the shower for older people who may be wobbly on their feet and concerned about the possibility of a slip and fall in the shower (or bath as the case may be).

Breakfast was lovely there was plenty of choice , everything was fresh a cooked lovely , also various options and refills of tea and coffee , the service was first class , our room was amazing , the bed very comfortable, beautiful bath and shower facilities, everywhere very clean with fantastic attention to detail , within walking distant of whitby harbour or park n ride 5 mins away , the surrounding grounds have lovely views , lovely staff very attentive ,with welcoming and easy booking in and out of hotel

We couldn't fault anything , it was all first class , made our 40th wedding anniversary weekend very memorable, we will definitely be returning , one of the best hotels we have stayed in

We attended a family event. The food was fantastic, presented in such a way that we carved the meat at the table which meant it acted as an ice breaker. We didn't know anyone on our table but within minutes we were chatting like old friends. The breakfast was first class, absolutely delicious. The location was great, very easy to get to Sandsend and Whitby and up to the North Yorkshire Moors. The staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds are dog friendly and our Labrador was made to feel welcome.

We loved every minute, nothing would have improved our stay

Everyone should have their wedding at Sneaton castle. As guests, we can honestly say the service, food, bedroom and overall experience was 10/10. I don’t know if it’s your hiring process, training or the staff are just genuinely happy to work there (or a combo of all three) but it didn’t matter who you dealt with, everyone was always happy to help. Our friend’s wedding went incredibly smoothly and the food was absolutely fantastic. We had afternoon tea and then fish and chips later on and everything went down really well. The quality was sublime. Hopefully this has sold it to anyone looking to book a wedding. If not, as part of the bridal crew, we stayed the night before and had steak in the restaurant, which was also delicious. Slept really well and really enjoyed using the stand alone bath for a nice soak after dancing all night at the wedding. Thanks all!

That it was over too soon!!

We stayed in the Castle Suite for two nights and we had the most amazing time. We enjoyed the breakfast, lunch and supper in the restaurant, the bar was fantastic with lovely cocktails and the staff were on hand to help and all so friendly! On top of that, you get the amazing grounds to walk around and so many photo opportunities inside and outside. The room was super comfortable and had everything you could need.

My only gripe would be that you cannot tip the staff when paying the bill by including the tip, you can only tip by cash. Not many people carry cash on them (we only found this out when the bill arrived) and there are no cash machines on site, the one at the garage isn't available either, so we felt really bad as we couldn't tip the staff as much as we would have liked to and what they deserved.

nice hotel, excellent food especially loved the breakfast, good service and friendly staff.

no lift so had to struggle up narrow staircases with suitcases. I am 69 and strong and healthy but some would find it difficult.

good location, food was really good and reasonably priced. the staff were very helpful

Large choices of breakfast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, multiple cooked dishes, the location just over a mile from the sea front not a bad walk, the grounds were large and staff very helpful and efficient but one member of the dining staff stood her name “Victoria” came across as down to earth, genuine and gave you the time you needed. From our room we could hear a member of staff when not in public view singing away and the staff having banter which proved they were happy in their work #management please don’t stop them as wonderful and reassuring to hear.

Can’t fault anything.
