Hotel was quirky and quite unique; bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Location was great; staff very friendly and extremely helpful; toiletries provided smelled amazing. If you are looking for somewhere a little different, this hotel is a great choice!

Room only had a bath (which I hadn't appreciated) so a shower would have been more practical for me (although the bath itself was a deep cast iron one which was amazing!) Parking was an absolute nightmare and quite stressful Had to remember to ask for milk before going to my room in order to make a cup of tea

The location is excellent, getting there is reasonably easy, although parking is a bit tricky, they will sell you a very good value 4 day pass, but you still have to find a space. Quirky is the word most often used by others and it is easy to see why. Each bedroom is furnished and decorated (I assume - we obviously were only in one) thematically and individually, we were in the Wild West (Saloon) with a huge metal bath. The dining room was absolutely fascinating, all the period ornaments, paintings, stuffed fish, dolls, letters, piano, postcards etc etc were completely appropriate and seemed to me to be the real thing, not modern imitations. The closer you looked at them the better they got. I had not been aware that Lewis Carroll had stayed in Whitby before we came here, but he had actually stayed here and he is a major theme for the decor. Anyone who only likes minimalism in decor should probably go somewhere else! The staff were delightful.

I wasn't that keen on our massive bath really (no shower), and the bathroom was a bit dark.

The whole ambience was amazing. Really enjoyed looking at all the old nik knacks and photos. Helen and the girls were so lovely, nothing was too much trouble ,the bed was just so comfy I didn't want to get out!..it was so nice being out of your comfort zone with no tv and stepping back in time..little pooch John was absolutely adorable ❤️. We will definitely be back,my friends are also booking as they saw my photos.helen you have the most amazing Hotel..we look forward to seeing you all soon.xxx

La Rosa Hotel is a unique, wonderful little place with lovely staff and really fantastic views of Whitby bay. The breakfast is a great touch and I recommend the bloody Mary! The one thing I'd suggest to people is to bring a multi usb plug, as with all older properties the plug sockets are limited, but we always bring one for charging phones, etc. The room was so unique it really didn't matter.

A delightfully quirky hotel decorated in Victorian style, with each room fitted out on a different theme and a constant sense of humour and nostalgia. A simple gluten-free breakfast on offer in the Lewis Carrol themed tea room, and cocktails in the decadent salon at the rear. Brilliantly opulent bath and some rooms offer a great view across to the Abbey.

This is not for everyone. The rooms are quite small and deliberately not 'modern' at all. If you don't love cluttered decor as much as I do, go for something boring like a premier inn.

General ambience, the artifacts in the rooms were really interesting and had an olde worlde feel to the place. Breakfast was fantastic, views were wonderful and the location was great! Even if you're not having breakfast they will bring you milk (even alternative milks) and juice up to your room in the morning.

Nothing!! I will point out that there wasn't a fan which would have been helpful and there was no shower but did not detract from the enjoyment of it, if anything it added to it!

Quirky hotel on the cliff top of Whitby, just above the centre of town. The decor is fantastic - not your average hotel for sure! Each room has its own personality and is an experience in itself. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

Our room didn't have a shower but a bath with a jug, which went well with the vibe of the room but you wouldn't want it for more than a couple of days.

We didn't pay for breakfast, which was ok as it made us go out and explore other food outlets. The view was excellent overlooking the harbour, no TV or radio in room which for me personally was ok, a break from the norm. The style/decor of the hotel was unique and quirky I believe each room is designed differently.

There wasn't anything that I didn't like!!

Just really enjoyed the themed rooms. all the little trinkets and stuff to look at make it feel like we slept over in a cool museum or something. Super clean. Also super friendly staff especially John🐶

the bed was very very high which was a bit hard for my partner to get up to as she’s only 5ft2.

Had a great stay at La Rosa hotel. We stayed in the crows nest which is a fab apartment for a group. The beds were comfortable and the view was amazing. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge and meeting John the dog. Very friendly staff.

Only issue was the shower water pressure wasn't great when someone else was using the sink/shower.
