Clare Cottage is in a quiet location but situated very close to the Abbey, pubs, restaurants, shops and a short pleasant walk to the lovely castle. Susie is a very welcoming host ,very helpful and provided lots of useful information. We stayed in the garden room which was cool and airy even in this hot spell. We had the best breakfast that we have ever had in a b& b or hotel, made of the local produce and so tasty.

If we could have stayed a few more nights!!

The breakfast was excellent. It was just a short walk into town for the restaurants and was in easy reach of Sherborne Castle and the Abbey.

The phone number on the Booking.com website was incorrect even though the owner of Clare Cottage had asked them to change it. This made the initial contact at the property a bit difficult. Nothing to do with Clare Cottage but the Half Moon pub was awful and is best avoided.

The room was large with a huge comfy bed. The free standing bath was a touch of luxury. The addition of a coffee maker was very welcome. Homemade shortbread was a real treat. Susie was a great host & breakfast was very enjoyable. We were also able to use a well appointed gardenin which to enjoy a glass of wine. Clare Cottage was in a great location for the Town, The Abbey & The Castle

The lack of a wardrobe could be an issue for stays longer than a couple of nights.

This is an exceptional B&B- so comfortable (excellent beds and Egyptian Cotton linen), lovely decor, tea/coffee in our room, our own spotless bathroom with plenty of hot water. Susie is a lovely host and prepared the most delicious breakfast. Clare’s Cottage is quiet and yet only a couple of minutes walk from the center of Sherborne. Highly recommend.

The cottage was a beautiful traditional property with decor and furniture that was in perfect keeping. It was close to the centre of Sherborne so we could easily walk into the town during the day to look around and in the evening for a drink or food. The rooms were lovely and the bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast was first class and the host went to a lot of trouble to make you feel welcome.

I really can't think of anything that could be better. It was a wonderful stay, thank you.

A complete gem. Fabulous room with such a comfortable bed it was impossible not to have a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was excellent, ample parking for guests and a very short walk into Sherborne. The big star though is Susie who is a brilliant host, nothing was too much trouble and full of useful advice on restaurants and the Sunday market. Highly recommended, we would travel out of our way to stay here again.

To nitpick, a bedside table lamp would be useful.

Breakfast was 5 star hotel level, if not better. Large room and bathroom. Lovely furnishings. Very relaxing. Susie the owner is great. Shower is wonderful. The whole experience was quite exceptional. So much thought and effort has gone into creating a wonderful B&B.

The cottage is delightful, with charming old furniture and full of character. The room was enormous, and the large bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous, and host Susie is a delight, and she even got up early on a Sunday morning to make us breakfast as we had an early start. The Cottage is only a few minutes walk from the centre, but is very quiet and peaceful.

Nothing! It is slightly quirky, in an old building so some of the facilities are fitted around the architecture, but it all adds to the character.

Spacious and well appointed room with lovely heritage bath and comfortable bed. Breakfast superb and host very friendly and helpful. Great to have off-street parking. Very convenient location - short walk to both the beautiful abbey and the restaurant booked for eve meal.

Would have been good to have a small fridge in the room in which to store milk for the tea and coffee.

Well appointed room imaginatively adapted to be self-contained within a fifteenth century cottage. Great breakfast. Susie very welcoming and helpful with information on Sherborne. The town itself is beautiful with much to see and Clare Cottage is located a few minutes walk from the town centre. Convenient parking in the front garden.

We were satisfied with everything.
