Hunters Lodge Inn

This is one of the best inns we've ever stayed in. The lodge is in a convenient and quiet location just off the A303 with plenty of free onsite parking. Our accommodation was in an annexe next to the pub. Both bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms and were very clean, spacious and well-equipped. Our stay was great value for money - B&B for two people in a standard room was less than £100 a night. There was a good selection on both the breakfast and evening menus. All our meals were delicious and were served by exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.

Nothing could have improved our stay. Everything was perfect and we will definitely return to the Hunter's Lodge.

room was a lovely size and had all the items you might need during a stay, loved how the room had an iron and ironing board , something that you usually have to request, the bottle of sparking water as well as still was a nice bonus too. Lacked just a little on cleanliness as a previous guests sock or something had been left under the bathroom sink, breakfast was plentifull and a good range of items, staff very cheerful & polite, would happily stay there again.

the only thing I can think of is that you didn't have any marmalade at breakfast, which is is no huge issue, but a member of staff happily went and looked for some but out of stock.

Room was spacious, comfy and clean (except the drinking glasses) with tea, coffee, water and biscuits. Al the usual facilities provided. Food was simple and good. The room was in a separate building so nice and quiet. Nice places to sit for the evening sundowner, and if you had kids there were places for them to play. Bed was comfy enough. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

Drinking glasses in the room were all really dirty sadly. Would like to have had nicer toiletries but there was soap/ shower gel there. Staff could have been friendlier and the bar arrangement made it difficult to get served.

There was not one single thing to find fault with. The staff in all areas, reception, kitchen, waiting and bedroom cleaning ladies were all unfailingly polite, kind, helpful and cheerful..... especially in the extreme heat conditions 10/10 to everyone, outstanding customer service and team performance. Also excellent home cooked food at evening meal and a wonderful breakfast, excellent bacon and to the gentleman who was kind enough to cook us poached eggs - thank you they were perfect and your effort was appreciated. If you are looking for excellent, comfortable and relaxing accommodation in this area do not look any further than the Hunters Lodge Inn

Having to come back home!

The Hunters Lodge proved to be a very welcome stop on our journey from the southwest to the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone and then back home to Germany. The staff were very friendly. The room was ideal for a short stay. We had an evening meal on the day of our arrival: tasty pub-food and good service, just like it should be. Anyone who is unhappy with what is on offer for breakfast was probably born unhappy. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely make the Hunters Lodge one of our stops.

We would have dearly loved to have savoured the appetising-looking English breakfast (included in the price) but we stayed with the continental because we had a 10-hour car journey ahead of us. One reason to have plan for more time next visit.

The room was spacious and had everything we required. The super king sized bed was a bonus. We could control the heating in the room. There was a fan provided for hot weather. Shower had good water pressure. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was vey good, plentiful and replenished frequently. We ate at the inn both nights of our stay and the service was excellent even though they were busy. The quality of food was excellent. I would advise booking to eat as it is very popular. Our room was very quiet and away from any pub noise. We would certainly return and recommend this inn to others.

Our only suggestion would be to upgrade the bath towels to bath sheets.

The hotel was quiet at night. The room was a good size. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There was plenty of car parking. The bar was well stocked and the menu had lots of choices.

The heating in our room did not work properly and we only found out during the night when it was very cold. The shower head was leaking where it had been cracked. There was a step in the bathroom up to the toilet and shower and I tripped over it in the night and fell over. It has a metal edge and does not seem safe, especially for older people. The hair dryer is in the bathroom right next to the basin and cannot be moved which seems like a health & safety risk, with water and steam in a bathroom. The bathroom needs updating to modern standards.

The food was fantastic. There was vegetarian and vegan options. The staff were amazing, the location was perfect for me as I was visiting family. The room was spacious and the bathroom was spacoius too. It had everything you could have asked for and breakfast included, which was also amazing and freshly cooked. Highly recommended. Will definitely be going back there. Lovely views, adventure park for the kids too.

A little mold around the walls and the patio door and the cobwebs were long on the ceiling.

Our room was a really good size, the bed was so comfortable we both had excellent nights sleep. Opened out to the back of the property which made getting bags from the car easier. Staff were very friendly, breakfast was very good. We had an evening meal on our first night service and food was very good. Having stayed at a variety of places Hunters Lodge may well be the best we have found. Definitely will be back if we are travelling that way again.

Breakfast was Buffet-Style, standard English breakfast w/ baked beans, toast, egg, bacon, mushrooms etc. from Buffet and Coffee/Milk/Tea (self-service) till 11am. Room decently sized, clean, good bathroom, hot shower, TV. Did not sample dinner/pub but menu card read excellent.

Nothing -- stay was just as expected (returning guest for 4 years or so). Place did not change much except breakfast buffet now. Kids play area outside seems to be new, not used though since traveling alone.
