I wish I could give more than 10 stars! A group of g ladies stayed here this past weekend for my wedding as I was getting married nearby at Blackwell Grange and the hospitality we received was outstanding! From the moment we arrived the staff couldn’t do more for us! Gavin in particular made our stay so special, making sure the bride had the most beautiful room ‘The Lazy Pug’ which is huge and even has a bath in the middle of it! All of the rooms are individually beautifully styled and you would be happy to stay in any! We were given a free bottle of prosseco and shots at dinner, and the staff even joined in having a shot with us to toast the bride. As they knew we would be up super early they kindly brought us up beautiful breakfast platters of warm pastries and mixed fruits. The food was delicious and great value for money. Absolutely amazing place to stay and we will definitely be back!! Thank you so much to all at The Lazy Pug!

There is nothing not to like!!!

It is a nice pub in a quiet Cotswolds village, east to reach and find. The whole pub was nicely decorated. The room was spacious, quiet, well kept and comfortable. The room had a boutique hotel feel with character and style. The bathroom too was stylish and roomy. Shower excellent. There was a small fridge and a coffee maker in the room and the TV had netflix, all nice extra touches. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptional. This place is highly recommended. Would want to stay there again when in the area.

Great rooms, shower was excellent, fridge perfect size and bed was really comfortable. Staff were really friendly and helpful, food was delicious, we had breakfast, lunch and snacks, all really tasty and not long to wait. Entertainment both nights, highly recommend the boozy bingo if it’s on when you’re there. Perfect location for the Cotswolds Distillery (our reason for staying) and Shipston itself, we had lovely walks both days.

Although not an issue for us, noise from the bar and the road outside might be problematic for some.

lovely room, clean, spacious and well decorated. Pub below was also really lovely. Lovely staff! Staff also accommodated an early check in which helped when attending wedding. limited parking, but was able to get a space.

great location, being so central in the town, but also quite a noisy area, due to being on the main high street. Also, old, thin windows making sound on the street loud. Bring ear plugs to have a more comfortable stay. Black out blinds/curtains would be a bonus in these summer months.

Lovely comfy room, great shower and it was a bonus to have Netflix on the tv. The food in the food was great, the staff were super friendly and helpful and there was live music in the pub when we stayed which was a real unexpected bonus - great atmosphere.

Not much! There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but no milk. It was also quite a noisy room which didn’t bother me but might bother others - opposite a church so the bells ring first thing in the morning and the room is above the lively pub so it’s noisy until the pub closes.

My friend and I stayed here for one night as we had a wedding reception to attend nearby. We loved the decor and were really impressed with how much space we had in our room - there's always a worry that a twin room will be a bit small but there was plenty of space for us both and our luggage. The bathroom was a really great size and the beds were comfortable. It was great to be able to listen to music on the smart tv while we were getting ready too. We weren't able to get a taxi to the wedding reception on the night so my friend had to drive, but we were so grateful for the help the bar staff and other customers gave us in trying to get one. Everyone was rallying around asking each other and even phoning their partners to see if they were free to give us a lift there! We ended up driving, but when we arrived back in time for last orders we were greeted with a tequila and impromptu magic tricks. Breakfast in the morning was delicious too. All in all we had a really lovely stay and would love to come back. Thank you to everyone at the Lazy Pug for making our weekend :-)

Book a taxi in advance if you need one!

We was brought as a Christmas gift a gin and whiskey tour in the Cotswold, we found this hotel as the prices where better than anywhere else, i have disability problems and messaged them to explain this, they where brilliant and offered to help me up the stairs. On arrival we where met by a lovely chap who took us to our room, he explained everything we needed to know, coffee machine, netflix on the tv, etc. the staff in all where helpful polite, we had a sunday dinner which was so nice. highly recommend this hotel.

The service charge on the food bill

We received a friendly welcome. We stayed in "Mint" and the room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Extras such as the coffee machine and a fridge, complete with milk, were thoughtful additions. The bathroom was modern with a large shower. There was a tasty and varied breakfast menu. We also enjoyed the meal that we had in the pub at night. We were only staying one night but would have been very comfortable staying there for longer.

Lovely place in the middle of a small village. Stayed in the room with the big bath, the wife loved it. Nice clean room and friendly staff. The pub downstairs served fantastic food, had a good selection of drinks including some well kept ales which i was very thankfull of. Had some really good entertainment on in the evening and just an all round great atmosphere. The rooms are above a busy pub, so if it a super early night you want then this wont be for you as its a bit noisy, but didnt cause us any problems at all. In fact by the time the entertainment finished, people drank up and left and the pub was quiet it was still only around 11pm. Nice comfy bed provided a good nights sleep and breakfast the next morning was lovely. We would definitely stay here again!

The team reached out to us to inform us that they had an issue with their hot water and did we wish to cancel, want them to find alternative accommodation or take a 50% discount. We were more than happy to take the discount and they also ensured that we had hot water jugs for washing hands etc. I believe this was an isolated/freak incident with their boiler and they had actually sorted it out during our stay but they still honored the 50% discount! What fantastic customer service. Additionally, there were electric car charging points being installed in the Tescos next door which is ideal for us for next time! Thank you so much.

Nothing to fault (except that there was no pug so my daughter was disappointed lol). A fab place, right in the center of a charming town. We loved it so much that we are going to buy in the area!
