Absolutely wonderful staff who always appear happy despite them appearing to be working most of the day. The most efficient kitchen I've ever experienced. I don't know how they get the food out so fast without it seeming to have been standing under a heat lamp. Really good quality food. Highly recommend the Sri Lankan set menu. The village is beautiful with plenty of walks around it.

Disappointed that our deluxe room wasn't either of the ones pictured - we had a 4 poster bed but no settee or armchairs to relax in. The lounge could do with reorganising so more chairs are useable.

Friendly staff, fascinating old building. Convivial atmosphere in bar. I understand that the Crown is the oldest building in the village and we enjoyed our stay there. Off road parking at the back was appreciated. It was one of the cheaper of the Cotswolds hotels and bearing this in mind, it was good value for money.

The room was very hot, in spite of the temperature only having reached 18C that day. We could not open the sash cord window and the cord was broken and we assumed it was fixed closed for health and safety reasons. This meant that we did not sleep as well as we would have done in a cooler room. We should have queried this straight away as we mentioned it to the owner in the morning, and he immediately sent up a strong young man, who lifted the heavy window with no trouble at all and showed us how to keep it open, without the normal weights system. Our fault, but it might be helpful for future guests to demonstrate the opening, when showing them the room.

We arrived at the hotel and were made to feel very welcome. The team that runs the hotel are so kind and friendly and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is amazing. The room was beautiful and the shower was perfect lots of hot water for a bath and had everything we needed. The location is beautiful very scenic and quiet. We ate at the hotel everynight the food was delicious and the breakfast was beautiful the hosts again made sure we wanted for nothing. They brought our drinks to the table and made sure they came to say hello and chat to us We have had an amazing time and would highly recommend The Crown Hotel to anyone. Lastly I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone at the hotel for making our stay so special. Jayne and David Careless

The staff were very accommodating, they let us use the room early as we had travelled up for a wedding. Very soft comfortable bed and pillows. Fluffy white towels, hot shower. On-site parking. Lovely full English and continental breakfast included. Tea & coffee in room available.

It’s very narrow to get to the car park up the hill, but nothing that can be changed here. It’s quite dated but it fits the small village feel, we could hear people Above walking around due to squeaking floorboards- again a very old building so to be expected and didn’t bother us. Would definitely stay again.

The location is ideal for exploring the area called the Cotswolds - though you need to study a map to understand the local roads. The staff were friendly and helpful. When I asked them for something, they were happy to help, The room had everything I needed. Breakfast was excellent.

Although the room was good, it was next to the area outside the hotel were people drink, chat and have a good time. I had to go for a walk for an hour or so to get away from the noise. Nobody's fault but the loud chatter and laughter gets a little tiring after an hour or so. You need to drive carefully to get to the car park at the back of the hotel but there is plenty of room.

Quirky and quaint, perfectly located for visits to Bourton on the water, Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh, Batsford Aboretum etc.

Tight turning from Main Street into car park not helped by some huge vehicles parked right opposite entrance, steep slope up to main and overflow car parks. I was grateful for my small car. My room was small but perfect, apart from dusty Picture frame, mirror, skirting and carpet behind head of bed, could have done with better hanging space (no wardrobe) and more clothes hangers although my friend had bought some with her so ended up borrowing. Toilet paper was thin and cheap.

Comfortable bed, larger than I expected for a single room. Very good food in the restaurant. They specialise in Sri Lankan food but have a range of evening menus and seem to be popular. The cooked breakfast was excellent although there are limited continental options. The service was slightly erratic. It's not corporate at all; seems to be run by two couples with some help and everyone does a bit of everything, always with a smile. TV has multiple channels and they all work. This is a small point but one that not all hotels get right, in my experience. There's a lovely cafe, community shop and another good pub even though Blockley is quite small and remote.

Room was quite small and could do with a coat of paint. (The hotel changed ownership recently and they seem to be working their way around decorating and tidying up, but hadn't got to my room yet.) Quite a lot of dust and cobwebs. The cleaner needs a longer brush to reach the beams! Bathroom had some mould and the toilet seat wasn't balanced properly. Although the car park is large, getting in and out can be tricky, with a steep narrow access road and little room to turn.

The breakfast was fairly basic but tasty and what I would expect. The dining room was clean and the staff friendly. The room was a bit old fashioned but perfectly adequate and the bedding was spotless. The staff were very helpful and accommodated our earlier arrival as we were attending a wedding nearby. The car park was a bit difficult to enter and exit in a large car but not impossible and I doubt there is anything that can be done because of the position of the hotel within the village. The outside space was pretty and well kept.

There was nothing that I didn’t like about this hotel.

We liked the hotel! We asked before we arrived to have walk in showers, we were allocated two rooms with walk in showers. We were on the ground floor in room 7 which was plenty big enough with nice bathroom comfy bed and vintage rustic style furniture. The hotel is located in a very quiet area so very few passing vehicles. There was a bar with a pool table and a limited but nice menu. There was also a seating area which was useful for us to meet family. The staff were lovely, attentive, efficient and very hard working, whoever was on duty seemed to do everything from serving breakfast to cleaning the rooms! It was good to have onsite parking as the hotel is in a residential area where parking is very tight.

We missed a room make up, which wasn't a massive issue apart from needing fresh towels which we asked for when we got back to the room later in the day. They were later delivered to our room.

Great value for the price we paid. The staff were all helpful and very accommodating, they went way above and beyond our expectations. The breakfast and food they served are also commendable. Will definitely recommend this place to those who wanted to have a laid-back break from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The only downside is if you're not driving, public transport is not really a good option, especially if you decide to travel on a weekend or bank holiday. Very difficult to travel back and fort places with more than 20 taxi operators and non can accommodate you. Nonetheless, you have to make the best out of your stay and explore places on foot. We are just thankful that the hotel staff were helpful taking us back to the train station.
