The owner and staff were very welcoming and helpful. My room was very comfortable and the hotel was in the middle of town, which suited me as I was visiting my brother nearby. Great that there was private parking behind the hotel.

Breakfast was only provided at weekends, so I had to go out to find my breakfast. Fortunately The Old Mill just over the road did a great breakfast menu. The hotel delivered a 'continental breakfast' to my room on weekday mornings, which constituted a plate with a roll, a small croissant, butter pat, marge pat, small jam, apple, orange and small orange juice - I had no choice about this selection and I left most of it.

We loved the style of the hotel, quirky & old fashioned with beautiful pictures all round. A lovely little courtyard at the back. And a bonus, the bar downstairs. The rooms didn't disappoint either, again something different to your standard chain hotel but in a good way. We had complimentary drinks & chocolates for my partners birthday which was a lovely touch. The staff were all very attentive, warming & friendly. Breakfast was delicious and had a huge variety. We weren't disturbed by any noise at all either which was unexpected too.

We struggled to find any downfalls with the property but the only few we thought which were very minor was that our radiator in the bathroom was very dusty and the taps on the bath both said cold so had to figure those out. Only other issue we faced which was a more personal one was I personally felt uncomfortable in bed but that's just me too use to my mattress at home and no fault to the hotel.

The evening meal we had was fantastic, steak cooked to perfection and the gamon was tasty, the drink prices were good. Staff were lovely. The hotel was well situated for our needs (visiting diddly squat farm). It's an old building with lots of character, the room was a good size, and clean with a bedroom, bathroom and a smaller room with tv and sofa-bed with tea and coffee facilities, also free toiletries and even 2 tins of G&T. A hairdryer and hair straighteners are also in the room, and also a fan. It's dog friendly too. Would book again if we were to visit Chipping Norton.

We booked a room that said was a larger bed (kingsize), but unfortunately, it was only a standard size double, although it was a 4 poster and looked lovely it wasn't big enough really for 2 people. Also, there was no breakfast but were given a plate of pastries and fruit. The shower was a good size, but the shower head was lacking a flow of water due to the size of the attachment and pressure of the flow, but it was ok to use and not a big issue.

This is a quirky hotel in the best possible sense. There are all sorts of hidden corners and corridors which make for an interesting stay. The bar is cosy and welcoming with a log fire. The rooms are great, we were in a 4-poster and the free canned of G&T were very welcome. There’s a squash court and small pool but these were out of action. Expect a warm welcome and, being privately owned, don’t expect any corporate frills….just the owner, being a little bit disorganised but very friendly. Highly recommended

We really enjoyed our stay at The Crown and Cushion. We were two families of three with two dogs. We booked late so they were unable to give us two rooms close to each other. One was a twin room so we asked if it was possible for an extra bed to be added and that was no trouble at all. We found Linda and her staff friendly and approachable. A relaxed vibe all round. The breakfast was at an extra cost but worth it having plenty to choose from. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable.

The location is perfect and room clean, tidy and spacious. Staff are friendly and a tray with croissant and fruit is available for breakfast with an assortment of herbal teabags. It was perfect for my needs, clean and warm.

The bathroom is rather outdated and the bath is too high for some people to get in and out of easily. The shower head above it is also fixed. Only one teabag on the in room tea tray and no restaurant facilities so you have to go elsewhere to eat.

My room was clean and comfortable, and the bed cozy. There was an excellent choice of self serve breakfast with fruit and yoghurt if desired. Coffee and tea both available and served to the table. The staff were helpful and attentive and it was excellent value for money

I could not fault my stay, the hotel had a traditional feel which added to its quirkiness and I would definitely stay there again

It was so warming, clean and smelt really nice! Great location and quiet I love how dark the room was too Loved the goodies left too! Awesome stay and will definitely be staying again

We will definitely stay again but as we had the dog we could have done with a closer room to the outdoors to save the longer journeys for toilet breaks
