Arduthie House

Well above the ‘Classic B&B’. Owners simply wanted to put us first and ensure that our group of 6 had everything we needed. Room was splendid and well appointed, with everything you could need or want. Breakfast was great and the location is ideal as 5 mins from the beach and all the local pubs and restaurants very close also. Would I go back - Yes, and it would be my first choice.

Absolutely nothing to not like here. I normally only do a review for somewhere which is either excellent or terrible. This was obviously in the excellent category.

The house is beautiful and very spacious yet cozy at the same time. Room and bathroom were very neat and clean, and the lounge area on the first floor landing was spacious and cozy with a fireplace and chess table. View from room was of the street and ocean further back and the glimpse of the Christmas tree in the main street was also very nice. Rod and Leslie are excellent hosts and we had such a pleasant time talking to them and they gave us really good recommendations for dinner. We both had Scottish breakfast and it was the best breakfast I’ve had in quite a while! I want to return to Stonehaven just so we can stay here again. Definitely recommend.

Breakfast was delicious and cooked fresh. I would really recommend the vegetarian breakfast as well as the creamy porridge. The location close to sea and town square was excellent. It was also perfect for us as we were visiting my mum's brother in the next street. Owners could not have been more friendly or helpful especially on check in where they went the extra mile to let us drop off our luggage early when we caught an earlier train than expected. Would definitely come back.

This Arduthie House is so central in Stonehaven. Literally a stones throw from the centre. The room was fantastic, comfy beds, great room, very nice ensuite, fantastic breakfast , very helpful and friendly owners if this great place. The dining room as with all other rooms were beautifully decorated, as were all other rooms throughout the house. Very comfy and relaxing.A great stay here. I would highly recommend this place to other travellers.

Excellent location in the center of Stonehaven. Free parking in the street. Excellent full breakfast cooked to order. The very friendly and helpful owners gave us recommendations for restaurants and places to visit. The room has a modern toilet/shower. Nice view from the room over the town and the ocean. A large comfortable lounge is available for guests. Tables in the garden are available.

Welcoming, comfortable, quiet and central define the attractive Arduthie House. Leslie and Rod are kind and warm, and happy to help with any questions, suggest restaurants and places to visit, and were really accommodating about some special requests. Our room was spacious and warmly decorated, and we so enjoyed basking in the sun in our room and looking over the rooftops to the sea. There is a really inviting lounge, with books, games, guitars and a piano, and some glasses for one's own apero - a great place to enjoy on the days where the weather is less clement, or just to recuperate after a stunning local walk. The breakfast offer covered full Scottish, European and porridge, and was excellent. During the day their breakfast area becomes a small cafe, and the small garden is a good place to relax. Stonehaven packs in a wonderful small harbour, some good restaurants (Marine Hotel got our vote), award winning fish and chips and Ice-cream (Aunt Betty's - don't miss it!) take-aways, splendid walks, and is a good place to stay to visit other areas. It's five minutes from the sea, just far enough to be away from those seagulls! Stay awhile. We loved it and sure you will too!

Loved it all. Stayed three nights, would have been happy to stay more!

Arduthie House is very well situated, close to all local amenities, but still exceptionally quiet. No traffic noise at all. The landlord and landlady were most helpful in every way, and even showed us where we could go on a free morning. The breakfasts were excellent and the room nice and comfortable. There is even a communal sitting room with TV, a good selection of books, and a piano and guitars for anyone who can play. My wife and myself would certainly be happy to stay there again .

Not so keen on twin taps in bathroom sink, but that is not a serious problem.

We loved everything. Our room was so cozy and lovely and the house itself is gorgeous. The gardens are stunning and full of so many flowers. Breakfast was delicious. The house is perfectly located....we walked to dinner and a pub along the harbor in 10 minutes and the house is a 4 minute drive to the beautiful Donnotar Castle. Our hosts were so welcoming and kind and gracious. Cant wait to be back

We loved everything

Parked right outside, I arrived late after a long drive and received a warm welcome. Bags were carried up the stairs, passed a lovely communal lounge, to my double ensuite room at the top, very cosy and immaculately clean. The bed was so comfortable and the room was quiet. All facilities, including wifi, worked a treat. Host shared lots of gems of local information and after Id settled in I enjoyed a stroll along the nearby sea-front following his directions. I pre-ordered Breakfast which was in the Restaurant downstairs in the morning overlooking the garden, delicious cooked breakfast. Would thoroughly recommend and hope I'll be back to enjoy another stay before too long.

Absolutely beautiful b and b, tastefully decorated throughout and timeless. Room was huge and had everything one could want. Ensuite was lovely although shower slightly snug, but this wasn't any major issue. The Arduthie is near the harbour and shops and places to eat which are all within walking distance. Our hosts were friendly and welcoming and nothing seemed like too much trouble. We had a cooked breakfast which was delicious and filled us up for most of the day.
