The owners were incredibly friendly, responsive, and treated us like family. As soon as we arrived, they knew exactly who we were and met us with big smiles and the husband quickly helped us carry our bags up to our room. The house has super thick walls and floors - providing a reasonably quiet environment to relax (and sleep!). We had a late train the day we were leaving, and the owners were super helpful in letting us rest in the lounge area a bit before our final departure from the house.

I honestly cannot think of a single thing we did not like - it was just perfect.

Breakfast options(lots of veggie/vegan options too) were great and very nice. Bathroom was good for what we needed. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Great walking distance into town. We ate evening meal at the famous fish and chips takeaway "the Bay" then walk around the harbour. Lots to see in Stonehaven.

Our room was a twin, as the hotel doesn't have that many doubles, but the twin room was spacious and we both agreed we got a better night sleep on our own (no duvet stealing).

Friendliness and helpfulness of staff were excellent. Beautiful old building (the stained glass window was gorgeous) and great location. Clean an fresh. Had everything we needed. Easy check-in after hours.

We (my niece and I) personally thought the beds were a bit hard and uncomfortable, and the single bed was a little bit "wobbly". Breakfast was good with lots to choose from on the menu. However, we missed not getting any jam or marmalade with the toast. We also wished there would have been some fresh fruit. Perhaps this is a bit unfair as we compared with previous breakfasts on our trip.

We had a most wonderful stay at the Belvedere! Me and my partner were celebrating our first anniversary with a little trip away from home and everything exceeded our expectations. The hosts are so lovely and my gosh that full Scottish breakfast was delicious 😋 Honestly I couldn't have asked for more, the room was spacious and the beds were really comfy. Location is also ideal, everything is within reach. I will definitely be back!

Hotel was happy to discuss arrival time, I was travelling a distance. Professional and efficient on arrival. Comfy room, wasn't ensuite but I was aware. Bar open and friendly, it had been a long day. Good location for travelling north on the A90, onward to Aberdeen the next day. Hadn't stayed in Stonehaven before so discovered the castle that someone at home had told me about, and learnt a bit about the town, which I enjoy. Petrol and sandwiches next morning at the M & S garage.

Would prefer a buffet breakfast and just order hot plate.

Comfortable and clean room with en suite facilities and spacious enough for our party of 3. Breakfast was very good and freshly made to order!

Unfortunately the shower thermostat was faulty resulting in either scalding hot or freezing cold water! My daughter gave up and my husband and I decided not to take the chance! We all slept relatively well, but woke early due to noise coming from neighbouring bathroom.

A very pleasant stay. The hosts are very nice and helpful, great contact during the stay and before arrival - they responded quickly to messages and were very friendly. Very good breakfasts. Room and bathroom nice, clean and comfortable. Great location close to the city center and the beach. If I come back to Stonehaven (it's really lovely) I will stay again.

It could be warmer in the room and in the dining room.

Good size family room and bathroom. Happy to walk barefoot. Great location for walking round Stonehaven. Good choice of cooked breakfast and plenty refills of coffee. Guest parking to the front. Lovely stained glass window on landing. Hosts accommodating and pleasant. I would stay again when returning to Stonehaven.

Bathroom door initially wouldn't close but swiftly fixed. Shower unit quite small but adequate. Some marks on the walls and dust. WiFi poor - couldn't play Firestick. Lots of dust behind TV.

This is a very comfortable guest house in beautiful Stonehaven. We loved the old house and it was very quiet and peaceful. There is no elevator and you will need to do some stairs. The breakfast is wonderful. The staff are friendly and helpful. You are on the main road close to the town square, so walking is easy to anywhere in town. There is great off street parking.

Breakfast was great, you can choose your cooked breakfast from the menu at the table in the morning and it will be brought to you nice and fresh, with toasts and coffee.

For breakfast, there were about 5 options of cereals, which is quite good but I guess it would be beneficial to see them visually rather than choosing them from a list on paper. Maybe leave them on a table for self service.
