Beautiful looking hotel amidst gorgeous grounds, gardens and views where we had a warm welcome. We ate in the restaurant, which we would highly recommend as the food was delicious and waiting staff friendly and accomodating. We loved the freshly cut flowers adorning every surface which are grown on the premises. Unexpectedly large bathroom.

Our room Caspian, (Mews building) although very pretty in its French theme, was tiny with very large furniture with us having to either dip our head on the eves or squeeze past the bed and wardrobe. The room was flooded with sunlight, extremely early as there are no adequate blinds only slats and sheer voiles. Possibly replacing the slats with blackout rollerblinds would make a huge difference. The Lodge is truly beautiful but little details let it down with very dusty bedcovers which we threw off straight away and undusted dining chairs. We really enjoyed our evening meal, although the dining room is lit up so brightly with no ambience at all.

Hotel and grounds were beautiful, room and bathroom amazing. The Nice fresh coffee in room instead of instant was a lovely touch. Staff friendly and professional.

Whilst adding to the ambiance of the hotel we Could have done without the live jazz pianist being situated right outside the bedroom door, was unable to just relax and rest up from our journey before dinner. Piped jazz music during dinner and breakfast was way too loud, had to ask the waiter to turn it down so we could hold a conversation. Scallop starter was just two very small chewy scallops, with a leaf of overcooked slimy spinach, not worth the £15 nor as pictured on website menu. Was very disappointing after looking forward to trying the dish. No butter provided with the bread rolls purchased. However, The fish and chips were decent and a good sized portion. Bed and pillows were a little hard for my preference.

dinner was excellent. the room was very pretty, nice decor with a huge oval mirror like you seen in movies. Parking was great. it is very close to a highway so with a Southern wind you may get some rumble so don't expect nature reserve level quietness.

I stayed in one of the outhouses which had 2 bedrooms upstairs. In the morning, the other (very gassy) guest's noises were too easy to hear :-) It was a bit funny actually :-) We seemed to rise at the same time and it did not affect my stay but I was suprised by the low level of sound insulation between those 2 specific rooms.

It was such a stunning secluded spot. Weather was glorious the day we arrived so we spent time in the grounds. Food was lovely and staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.

Our room was in the mews next to the car park which was gravelled. As I was trying to fall asleep about 10:30… I could hear all the loud footsteps in the gravel for the next hour which then kept me awake. Our room was a lot more dated than I thought would be. Plaster cracking and big gap in the door on the side and bottom. I felt we paid a huge amount for the room and it was a let down. The bed freaked loudly with every movement also. We did feel a bit away from it being in the block away from the main building.

Hotel was stylish in a heritage sort of way and very well done. Felt very cosy and yet still with enough space so you didn't feel cramped. Dinner was good and exceeded my expectations! The staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful.

Communication with the hotel by email (via booking.com) was unreliable (no response or a very slow response overlapping with subsequent messages that had been sent) and in the end I just phoned the hotel directly and then the staff were very helpful. The wine list was rather limited and there was no corkage system if you wanted to bring a special bottle.

First class food and beverage choice and service standards, fully attentive polite, professional staff - incredibly beautiful classy elegant bedrooms - a feeling of genuine homeliness, wonderful relaxing ambience - a very professionally operated hotel on every level - would recommend it highly to all types of traveller - its the only hotel i would use when in the area - In a world of more often than not bland service, 'identikit' hotels, inexperienced management and dis-interested staff alongside poor standards it is indeed rare to find a hotel where all genuinely care and all clearly enjoy working at the Berwick hotel - most definitely 10/10 - a real gem of a hotel - with regards their room and food, beverage tariffs - these are set very fair and are fully justified when one receives such high standards throughout -

leaving the hotel on check-out was sad- would have been lovely to have stayed longer - apart from that - there was nothing I could fault

Awesome main lodge house, beautiful decor, comfy bed, wonderful bathroom. Lovely, well-kept grounds/garden. Dinner was delicious (fish & chips) didn't have breakfast. Would definitely stay again!

The only difficulty was getting our large suitcases up the small spiral staircase in the mews, where our room was. But that's really our own issue due to having to pack for 2weeks of vacation.

Very nice feel to rooms. Staff very friendly, Nine grounds to walk around. TV facility was good offering decent range of channels and Chromecast (even though it was a bit temperamental and usually need a few attempts to get it working)

Road up to the lodge is badly in need of repair (not necessarily under the lodge's control I admit), could easily cause damage to a car

This boutique hotel is set in stunning gardens and grounds with views across to Wales from the hotel dining room and the Troya room in which we stayed. This room is superbly decorated with the super kingsize bed built into an elevated position with steps to access and the television at the end of the bed rises out of the converted pulpit. The bathroom is luxurious, with high-quality toiletries supplied. The restaurant service for dinner was superb, the restaurant staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The wine list was exemplary and the quality wines chosen complemented the menu perfectly. The presentation of the meals was delicate and refined and the high-quality ingredients used made this an incredibly pleasurable dining experience. I would highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant. On arrival, and for the whole afternoon, a pianist played from the piano on the mezanine floor and this created an exquisite atmosphere for this incredible setting. I hope to try the massage treatments available on my next visit.

Everything was perfect

This is a very friendly and slightly quirky venue. The room was very comfortable and the food was delicious. It's popular for weddings and was very busy but the staff couldn't have been more attentive and helpful.

There's a lot of development going on in the surrounding area so there can be a lot of traffic on the little road that leads to the hotel. The road is in a terrible condition, possibly due to all the use.
