The Regency House is very conveniently located in the town and only about 50 metres to the pier. There is ample car parking in a public Pay and Display car park but as a guest of the hotel you don't have to pay; just notify Alan or Sandy at the hotel and they put your registration on a database which means you don't have to pay. This is great because the hotel is on the sea front and the road outside is double yellow lines. The hotel is dated but that doesn't take anything away from my satisfaction at staying there. Alan and Sandy are nice and friendly hosts. I particularly liked the little things done or left in the bedroom: there are earplugs left on the bedside table, although the secondary glazing is very effective in dampening any noise from the road outside; there were small chocolates and mints left on the pillows; toothbrush and paste; and a disposal razor and small tube of shaving cream in the bathroom - very nice little touches that I hadn't experienced before. Breakfast was also very good. Thanks Alan and Sandy; I enjoyed my one night stay.

Loved it, loved it, loved it! The Regency House offers everything you could wish for in accommodation. Breakfast was top notch, the bed was comfy, the service on point, and Allan and Sandy were amazing hosts. As a former local to the area, I was delighted to be able to find somewhere that was able to put me up and cater to my needs for a couple of weeks. A real home from home and I hope to be able to stay again on my next visit to the area!

Some might find the decor a little old-fashioned and dated, but for me it was fascinating and like stepping back to a time that we are unlikely to encounter again. You don't get many places like this anymore and for that reason it should be enjoyed and embraced! Please don't ever change!

Exceptional venue. If someone tried to recreate the old school style of Edwardian charm and comfort, they couldn't come close to this - the real thing! Alan and Sandy, I suggested, might be retiring soon? Alan said they had considered it a lot 'But we never got round to it.' Perfection in all detail... solid napkin rings (yes - real napkins). Incredible breakfast. 'This bacon is superb', said I. 'Yes', said Alan, 'It's the best I can get..... it's from Scotland.' But all this is done matter-of-fact, as if there couldn't be another way of running a hotel. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that don't come close. A tiny gem of a place in the forgotten outback which is Walton-On-The-Naze. Only come here if you enjoy old fashioned excellence

Fantastic breakfast. Bed very comfortable and temperature and pressure of shower good. Useful to have minifridge in room, free bottles of water much appreciated. Location excellent being on the sea front and room had a good sea view. Parking was included in the price. Would stay again in the second floor front facing double.

The room was a little dated - a lighter shade of paint than the dark brown and more modern bedding would improve the cosmetic look. Back entrance via the car park is useful, but the garden is more of a yard and would not be a pleasant view.

Although quite dated it had a very nice atmosphere and very clean and welcoming. The room had everything you needed with all the extra little touches.Toiletries, wide choice of teas, coffee, biscuits , chocolates on the pillows etc.Tv and fridge.Lovely power shower.with constant hot water. The beds were so comfortable we did not want to get up.The breakfast was excellent and there were plenty of choices.Dining room over looking the sea 😊.The owners were more than helpful and are lovely people. It was lovely to be greeted by the resident dog Louis such a sweety. The guest house is right on the sea front and the highlight was having parking . Excellent also for the disabled as there are chair lifts to each floor.I will definitely use this guest house again.Just perfect all round.

It was all perfect

The staff were kind, hospitable and helpful, especially with the parking permit. The room was very clean and the breakfast room was very quaint, and the breakfast generously portioned. Lots of nice thoughtful extras in the room too. Traditional decor and traditional, quaint, British bed and breakfast.

The small ensuite had a small dividing wall between the toilet and sink and I couldn't see what purpose it served. I caught my elbow on the corner of the dividing wall and the edge of the tiles were a bit sharp; there would be more space in the bathroom without it.

I've stayed at Regency House before with my husband and this time as a solo traveller, and each time I've been made to feel welcome, safe and very well looked after by Alan and Sandy. My room had a beautiful sea view with lots of nice touches like water in the fridge and biscuits renewed every morning. Add in a comfy bed, hot powerful shower, superb breakfast and now two stair lifts to help out less able guests, and Regency House is a top class B&B that's more like a home away from home.

I can't think of anything I didn't like.

Amazing hosts, lovely clean rooms, excellent location.Amazing Seaview. Iron/Ironing board, hair dryer, kettle, assorted teas, coffee.. lots of added extras. Mints on pillows 😍lovely soap gift from Sandy for Mothers day🥰 reminded me of my nans house, homely vibes and trinkets

Breakfast was a little early for us but not really a problem. Room was on 2nd floor so there was a couple of flights of stairs. OK if you're fit, unlike us, we were out of breath when we got to our room 😂

I loved how it was opposite the beach and it was lovely and quiet even though it was peak season in the summer. There were plenty nearby in the town such as supermarkets, gift shops, the market situated in the car park, cafes, tea rooms and pubs. An overall excellent stay and the owners made us feel so welcome, we also loved the room facing the sea room.

There were no lifts in the property and all the rooms are on the top floors. my mom did have trouble walking up the stairs but we were aware about this problem before we travelled and it was still an amazing break.
