All staff were extra helpful, nice old building, safe storage for bicycles, large room, nice bathroom with walk in shower.

Sadly a kitchen fire 2 weeks earlier meant there was no breakfast or dinner on site. This was disappointing (especially as we only were told of it on arrival) but an arrangement by the pub with the Sun Inn 100 yards away worked well as it was very good. Our room overlooked the road and was noisy with delivery vans and lorries early in the morning.

Location was great and all the staff were lovely. Unfortunately there had been a kitchen fire shortly before we arrived so we were relocated to cafe opposite for breakfast which was adequate - would like to stay again to sample Marlborough food. Excellent shower. Hotel bar very good and it was good to have residents car park.

Very poor storage in bedroom - no wardrobe and little facility to hang clothes. Also only two shallow drawers. No shelves in bathroom.

From the moment we arrived for lunch then showed to our room number one ,over looking the church and high street from the dual aspect windows the room was like a lounge. Large comfortable bed, settee and two further armchair with a coffee table in slate dressing table and stool all of high quality. The bathroom with its stand alone bath, twin basins was modern and trendy. We also had an evening meal and breakfast both of which were of good quality. All the staff from Andy the manager to waitresses and bar staff and of course the Chef were first class

The only complaint was the bathroom did not have a stand alone shower, as for, trying to shower for the not so agile was difficult

Hotel with lots of character and history. Very well located in the high street with nice pubs and restaurants. Large and comfortable room. Very hot during our stay but we had a good fan in the room which definitely helped. Staff very friendly and breakfast very good.

It was a shame that because of staff shortages, their restaurant for dinner was closed during our 1 night stay as we understand it is very good. However, I like the fact they are ensuring their chef gets a good break rather than try to keep the restaurant open at any costs. Seems to be a nationwide problem and one we all have to be tolerant of. We were able to get a very nice meal in a near by Pub.

Staff very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was very nice , couple of things though, no orange juice offered and did not like streaky bacon, which was also overcooked, usually back bacon offered for breakfast in the UK. Did wonder if they were catering for American visitors, I know they like streaky bacon which is offered on American cruise lines. All in all a very good stay - bathroom towels were so soft and fluffy!

Apart from bacon no complaints.

This hotel was absolutely pet-loving and I applaud it's hospitality towards my two dogs. The ground floor is a restaurant/pub that serves all three meals wonderfully (hotel guests get discount!), and there were outdoor seats as well as parking. The room I had was spacious and really comfortable. Without a car, it's not convenient to get to. The hotel was able to book a taxi to ferry me to and fro Manningtree Station.

There wasn't any lift, so it was a lot of physical work for me since I had quite a lot of baggage. Thankfully, the staff kindly offered to help. Since I brought my dogs, I wished my room wasn't carpeted though.

All the Staff were lovely so friendly nothing was too much, the room was realy lovely and clean and had everything you might need, with extra little touches. The food in the restaurant was delicious and generous portions and the service was spot on.we loved sitting by the open fire with a glass of wine on the comfy sofa and chairs.

There is honestly nothing we can think of that we didn't like!!!!! One of the best places we have stayed in.

We had stayed here previously and our latest stay fully met our high expectations. The location in the centre of Dedham is perfect. The Marlborough oozes character and the staff are very helpful. The breakfasts are excellent - enough for us until dinner.

Nothing really comes to mind. For the price perhaps some of the room facilities could be better, but this certainly doesn't detract from the experience.

Very welcoming staff, lovely room, good choice of menu, we had an evening meal, salad and a roast dinner both very good. Exceptional pudding. Was a nice surprise to be given a discount on food bill as we’re staying. Returned later in evening, had a night cap in the lounge, slept very well and enjoyed a wonderful cooked breakfast. Exactly what we hoped our stay would be. Thank you

Nothing. Service was wonderful. Just bear in mind as an old building the floors slope 😂 gave us some giggles and there will be road noise with location. Nothing that bothered us though

Characterful establishment and room, super clean, great shower, good menu with discount for guests. Excellent eggs Benedict for breakfast. Lovely towels.

Room was very hot and window opened onto road - not many cars but very noisy when they passed by. No wardrobe to store clothes.
