The room I chose was with no private bathroom. However the room was very comfortable, clean, and the shared WC room was very clean too. I actually had my own shower and sink which was great, so the only think I was sharing was actually the toilet. The bed was very comfortable and I was pleased with my stay. Staff was also helpful and flexible with the check in which really helped.

Very convenient location, we were visiting Harry Potter studios the next day so the location was perfect. Great value for money. The staff were exceptional. The food and drinks were really good and fairly priced. We booked the room with the en suite and it was clean and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay.

This is a pub you are staying in and if you are visiting on a weekend it is worth noting they have karaoke, live bands, and DJ s alternating. This wasn't an issue for us but it may be worth mentioning on the website so that people are aware of the noise. It did all stop bang on 11 pm and personally didn't affect our stay but may put off others.

Booked this hotel for the Harry Potter studio, it was under 10 min walk to Watford junction where you could get a Harry Potter bus to the studioes and back. the location is really good. close to the station and shops. staff was professional and polite. the lady informed us we had 20% our food as we was staying in the hotel which was a surprising bonus. The rooms are clean & the beds are super comfortable. Check out was easy as we left early on the morning. if we ever came back to the Harry Potter studies would 100% come back to this hotel. The room was well heated and did not feel cold at all during my stay. Staff were polite and helped with any problems. Toilet was shared with other rooms but was kept clean. Room above a Pub but their was no noise. Bar food at night and breakfast in the mornings was all good. The location was within walking distance of Watford Junction Station. I am already planning my next visit to Watford and The Southern Cross will be top of my list for accommodation. Well done ++++

the other guests were a little bit noisy when trying to creep around at night. This did not keep me awake though.

It was lovely to have everything you needed within the room (shared lavatory excluded). There was a good shower, small and large shower heads in situ, and outside switch combining damp extraction and light. If a good body soak was needed, there was also a shared bath at the end of the corridor. A single bed ensured best value for money for a single stay. Similarly the room size was compact but adequate. Black-out curtains, comfortable mattress and pillow ensured a good night's sleep. The wall-mounted television was much appreciated, as was the kettle, hot drink provision, good clothes' hanging area and an off-the-floor support for the packing case. I liked the separate entrance for residents rather than entering/exiting via the bar area.

As a feminine female I am not much of a fan of dark grey, a lack of colour or dark colours generally, but white bed linen and towelling was much appreciated.

I loved the place. Its outside of London But still close enough especially with great train connections. The room was amazing, comfy feeling, loved the natural light. Room was a great size, includes everything u need. Its above the pub but we heard nothing, in general the location is Pretty peacefull. Beds are great. We also ate at the pub, food was fantastic and beer selection was great.

Walls to the next room are a bit thin but nothing too bad. Maybe i missed early breakfast, 11.00 am was kinda late when the pub opens. But we made it work.

Staff really nice, good food. Room comfortable. Would stay again.

Fire alarm in the middle of night wasn't great.

Brilliant staff, great pub just downstairs from my room. Easy access. Only 15 minute walk from the train station. Got plenty of rest, very comfortable. Great meals in the pub also, very friendly atmosphere. Decent priced drinks also, can be ordered from the Greene King App. If staying here, you get % off the food bill also.

I loved it all, no issues whatsoever. Would have been nice to have my own toilet, however, it was only just across the hall from my room so I had no issues here.

Staff are friendly, specially Steve i recommend this stay for short business work in the city. Walking distance to line 321 which can serve all the routes from Watford to Luton. Parking also available at the property

Durian weekends you can hear the music from the bar downstairs but it's not that much noisy. It's in an acceptable levels. The shared WC is a bit annoying but you can manage

Great location, 5 min walk from Watford Junction train station (direct 20 min train to euston). Decent food offering with good offers on food and drink. Friendly staff who helped with anything we asked. Will definitely use again for London trips.

No toilet in the room, but we were next door to the bathroom so not much of an issue. Shower was a little under powered and a bit tired looking. But for the money we paid it was perfectly adequate.
