The Orangery had a great atmosphere and a lovely view. All meals were enjoyable and the staff were excellent.

I felt that for such a grand, spacious and multifunctional venue, the nasty cheap metal 'art-piece' that greats you in the lobby was inappropriate and does not represent your style or aspirations. You could invite local artists to create imposing pieces to display in the lobby, perhaps to sell from the wall, or have a 'rolling' display. This didn't detract from our enjoyment, just a comment.

The view from our room was beautiful. And the room we ended in was fabulous. Room was clean , warm , your breakfast staff were friendly and efficient.

I had to complain about our room as i booked a garden view, and was given the loft room right at the top of the stairs, i dont think the messages match up with booking .com. room was changed so it was okay. The food was okay but we had the same menu two consecutive nights and not much choice on menu. Your waiting staff, on the evening shift were very ,very slow inbetween each serving , at one point we had to wait half an hour between mains and sweet, lots of standing around and chatting and not being observant to the few guests they had.

Initially we were allocated 1 standard room and a Superior room, I’d paid for 2 superior. The Manager sorted this out within minutes. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were travelling with 2 disabled children one age 9, one 16 and our taxi was booked for 6.45am to go back to coach pick up, some old woman ( I won’t say lady! She certainly was not a lady, yelled at us twice to be quiet while walking down the creaky corridor!! She got told to shut her trap, and I told her she was a RUDE old woman! But this was not the hotel’s fault… This trip was a celebration for my granddaughters graduation from High School so nothing was going to spoil it…

We visited Harry Potter world so it was a good location. The grounds were lovely and the golf course was good.

I think we were just unfortunate with our bedroom allocation. We were the first room, on the ground floor, just off of reception. It was very loud, we didn’t get much sleep. There were large groups drinking until early hours that kept us awake plus the constant opening and closing of the door to the hallway. Plus our telephone didn’t work in the room so we couldn’t contact reception. It was disappointing given that our room was booked so many months in advance, it was also a special occasion so I would have thought a better room would have been allocated.

Very nice location, so close to Harry potter world.Lovely breakfast room with good choice of buffet breakfast. Very big comfortable room with nice bathroom. Nicely cleaned every day. Even coffee and tea with yummy biscuits for free in room . Loved the quiet location in the middle of a golf course which just looks like a park We were very lucky to have a room at the far end, so not a lot of other people around us.

The bathroom was clean but the tap had a lot of scale on it. Around the bathtub was a groove which could have done with a better clean But all in all very nice clean bathroom.

Nice hotel in a golf club with pretty grounds. Room was large and modern. All facilities needed were provided. Staff nice and friendly. Food nice. Breakfast buffet style. Personal touch to tv was nice. .

Very wooden effect to room, I did hit my head. We were in a wheelchair friendly room, which wasn't an issue apart from shower being low and of wet room style. Door opened into enclosed court yard which made room dark but lights were ok.

Restaurant food was lovely, we had dinner and breakfast twice. Bed was really comfortable. Bathroom was amazing, nice powerful warm shower and roll top bath. Lovely garden views. Restaurant and cleaning staff were polite and friendly.

Decor was outdated and a bit tatty, ripped wallpaper, cracks in ceilings etc but a very old Manor was a little bit expected. Some reception staff were not the friendliest. No information pack in the room, we were unsure on what the hotel offered, what we could order for room service, menu to the restaurant, attractions in the area etc. We rang room service 3 times one evening and they never answered.

The room was perfect, they had thought of everything and the little touches were noticed. It was a small window, the garden view wasn’t much if a garden view but the room made up for it and the bathroom was also perfect. The check out staff was friendly, I had a lady who even went out of her way to fill up my water bottle before I left. The breakfast was so good and the staff here were also so lovely. The views from the breakfast room was beautiful, I love how they had picked daffodils from the outside area and put them in vases on each table

The lift wasn’t working, it would have been good for me to know in advance as I have a few issues with mobility at the moment so I struggled with the stairs. Not sure what I would have done differently if I had known, maybe asked for a room on the ground floor? I burnt myself on the towel radiator because I didn’t known it was on or how to turn it off oopsies

Room was spacious, looked out onto the beautiful gardens, bed was very comfortable. Staff were very attentive, breakfast was fantastic. We had a lovely evening meal on arrival. The next day we attended our friends wedding and it was just beautiful, very intimate, the venue was fab, the food delicious. Lovely old building, with some newer parts but still keeping its character and charm, I would highly recommend :)

We had a slight issue with the toilet flush that we reported just before going into breakfast and it was fixed and resolved by the time we got back up to our room.

The Hotel is in beautifully landscaped gardens and surroundings. The room was spacious, quiet and very comfortable. Staff at reception were attentive, efficient and friendly. Service at dinner and breakfast exceptional, and the food fresh, hot, tasty and beautifully presented. The inclusive bed breakfast and evening meal was great value, with a 3 course menu plus glass of prosecco included, and a great choice at the breakfast buffet, of hot and continental options.

No instructions in the room for the air conditioning unit, which took some working out. The heated towel rail in the bathroom was cold, with no controls visible to turn it on, in February. Some areas are a little tired and in need of attention. The curtains were difficult to open and close, the metal soap dish over the bath needed a good scrub underneath, and corridors to the rooms were shabby. This must be an ongoing problem with a property this size and age. Walking the grounds was a pleasure until we came across a dumping ground for old furniture, including an old loo, not far from the main building. The juice machine at breakfast was a mystery to operate, mixing water with concentrate but sometimes you only get water.
