Holiday Inn Express London - Watford Junction, an IHG Hotel

Overall, our stay was a very pleasant one. Cleanliness is paramount to me, and our room was lovely and clean and fresh. I also felt that the hotel was very relaxed in the main area downstairs ie reception and seating areas, giving a sense of real comfort and relaxation.

Though the shower cream/shampoo was fine, I wish there had also been a hair conditioner, plus a few more teabags-milk -sugars etc and those very tasty complimentary biscuits often supplied in other hotels.

Room was great size with good shower but was far too warm at night. Breakfast was lovely. The cot wasn’t safe, a duvet had been folded up to make a mattress which had a sheet wrapped over it, would have been very easy for our baby to get tangled up in it. When we lifted the duvet off we found food and dirt all at the bottom of the cot where it hadn’t been cleaned - disgusting! Also there was a substantial tear in the cot which a baby’s arm or head could have got stuck in. Otherwise apart from the cot and heating we felt it was really good value for money.

Very nice hotel, good breakfast-wide choice. Great location-next to train and bus station. Walking distance to city center and shopping area. Room spacious, bed comfortable, the foldable sofa-so so. Coffee&tea, kettlee, cups nice to have in the room. I would come back again.

Little bit noisy-trains passing by, but not a big deal. Bit disappainted with room equipment-family room(4people) had only one chair to sit on. I would also appreciate to have a fridge in the room instead of having iron board and iron(didnt use). No wardrobe to put the clothes into. Just few shelves and hangers.

didn’t have a bath even though it stated online there was a bath or shower and we went down to see if we could change rooms to one with a bath when we arrived and the staff member we talked to was quite rude in the way he spoke to us and basically said we wrong and we didn’t read it properly even though we were just asking if we could change, if we couldn’t change rooms that was fine with us it would of made it easier as we had a baby with us. plus had no plug in sink so was struggle to bath our son in the sink as well

Hotel is spotless and the staff are great and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had two interconnected rooms and this worked great for our group of 3 adults and 3 kids. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. Dinner wasn't great tbh, just frozen items. We were late returning one night so that was an easy option. Hotel is just down the lane from Watford junction station where you can easily connect into London very quickly. The free Harry Potter bus leaves from just outside and takes you right to the studios a short distance away. The hotel is in walking distance of Atria shopping centre and a nice park with playground. Approx 10-15 mins. There is also the high street with other shops and bars. I would definitely consider staying here again. Especially for harry potter studios.

The dinner wasn't great. All frozen food which wasn't very nice.

The hotel was bright and welcoming on arrival. The reception staff were cheerful and attended to us as we came towards the desk. The place looked and smelled clean. Check in was straight forward with just the car registration details to complete. Our room was on the fourth floor and our room card gave us access to the lift/staircase. The room was spotlessly clean. A double bed and a double bed setee were beautifully made up for us. My 11 year old granddaughter was with us and she had the bed setee to herself and said how comfy it was. The shower room was small as you would expect in a hotel for short stays but it was very clean and well stocked with towels, toilet rolls and shampoo/hand-wash. The room had a hair dryer and ironing facilities, large wall mounted TV, tea/coffee station and a small hanging area for clothes. The dining area was just beyond the reception on the ground floor. It was much nicer than I anticipated with a fully stocked bar for alcohol and non alcoholic drinks. The menu for evening dining was also an unexpected bonus. We did dine there in the evening and the menu was quite varied for the type of hotel it is. The food was very well presented and most enjoyable.. Breakfast was served in the same dining area and whilst busy, there was a plentiful supply of freshly prepared choices and plenty of places to sit. The choices of a continental style breakfast or a cooked English style breakfast were included in our room price and there was a good selection of fare available. There was a small section for Gluten free breads and cereal. Fresh fruit and yogurts several bread options and drinks were all available. Considering this was a one night stopover for most of the guests the comfort level was better than I had expected.

The location looked a little off putting on arrival BUT.....it was actually OK. The hotel is very close to the railway station and outside the hotel you can hear the train announcements it is so close. Not a problem inside. The car park is behind the hotel and not very spacious in these days of larger SUV's. It was a tight squeeze but we managed. There are some parking spaces by the side of the hotel but again, it may take a careful driver. The area around the building is populated by office buildings and commercial properties. Across the main road there are a number of cafe and take aways and a mini market for things you may need.

Very good for the price, the rooms were modern and clean. Most importantly the beds were comfy, room was quiet and and dark. Quite close to the city centre but right next to Watford junction making the trip to Wembley very easy (just 25 mins by train, which were every 15 minutes). A good selection to choose from at breakfast, which were fresh and cooked breakfast was hot.

The entrance/reception was a bit scruffy on arrival, may have blown in from outside but thought the place just looked a bit untidy. Went to use the toilet in reception on arrival and same again. Bit messy and no toielt paper

When came to Watford for the Harry Potter studio tour and this hotel was perfect. Literally a 6 minute drive to the studios. A clean hotel with friendly staff. Excellent Value for money. A fantastic breakfast range too!! A far better choice than some 4 star hotels abroad! Comfortable beds and fresh clean towels. Hand dryer, iron and ironing board very handy. Tea and coffee facilities in the room fab too!

A little noisy, some noise from the train station but that can't be helped because of the location and some of the internal doors rather noisy from guests letting doors slam close rather than closing them, themselves. A little annoying through the night and early hours of the morning

Staff was very friendly and accomodating, area is good close to a lot of public transport and shopping centre with lots to do only 15 min walk from hotel.

The only downside is the train station near by, it was quite warm when we stayed and we couldn't leave the window open at night due to the loud noises coming from the train. Once windows are closed you can't hear the noise as sound proofing is great

This hotel was very close to the Watford Junction train station (3mins walking) , it was very clean, quiet and comfortable and again 3 mins walking distance from the Harry Potter shuttle - amazing since I came for that , a 20 mins train ride from central London . Staff was helpful , they sorted a taxi for me for the airport and gave me a small breakfast package because I had to leave early on my check out day.

The sofa bed looked a little stained but it didn’t bother me since I didn’t need it at all …
