We have stayed here several times before and so we know what to expect. The location is great for us - and very quiet. Unfortunately, the garden annex is beginning to show its age and could do with a revamp - particularly the common areas. But, the beds are comfortable, and everything in the room functioned correctly.

On returning to the hotel late one night, we discovered that someone had fixed the broken front door lock, but sadly our keycard did not work, resulting in us having to go back to reception to find out how to access our room. Our issue was addressed quickly.

Beautiful setting and view from the room was over the garden. Loved the balcony, sat out at the picnic table and chair enjoying a cool drink with the sun on me. Also loved the mini fridge for keeping milk and a drink

As with all hotels, some noise carry over from the adjacent rooms. Maybe when asking for a quiet room, they could put you in a room with no one next door! AC not working Restaurant food is high quality and not cheap. Wish it could arrive in front of me a little warmer. It takes a lot of coordination, I know to get everything cooked and piping hot simultaneously, but when you are paying £28 for a main course, I would expect it. Mine was a lamb rump, which was at the right temp. But the dauphinoise or the broccoli wasn't. So you end up paying £50-£60 for a two course with a drink, which I would expect to be perfect.

Enjoyed the quiet location of the Hotel, and the history and the grounds were fabulous. The bedroom windows are in severe need of replacement, but at least they opened allowing for ventilation. Evening meal was excellent, and the best steak I have ever had. I had to compliment the chef. The choice at the buffet breakfast was good, and the cooked breakfast was outstanding.

The coffee available in the restaurant was not particularly pleasant, not helped by it on occasions being served cool. May be the staff could be trained to notice that when no steam is coming off the cup they have poured, it requires a fresh brew. However, they did appear to be training new staff while we were there.

Friendly helpful staff, nice clean room, large comfy bed, good shower with nice complimentary toiletries. We had food in the library bar, which was lovely, good breakfast with plenty of choice for hot or cold. Hotel is close to Stanmore's station, 5/10min taxi 30mins to walk, carparking at station, where you can get a train into London for all the sites, and just 3 stops to Wembley park.We enjoyed coming back here after the busy days in London and at Wembley for the peaceful surroundings to chill out.

Everything was great, nothing not to like.

My recent stay at the Best Western PLUS Grim's Dyke Hotel was a delight from start to finish. This hotel is nestled amidst sprawling gardens and has a fascinating history as the once home of the famous librettist, W.S. Gilbert. The hotel itself is a treasure, with antique furnishings and charming decor that make you feel transported to another age. The staff are incredibly attentive, welcoming me with a warm smile and ensuring my every need was met. The restaurant food and service was excellent. With its heritage and character, the Grim's Dyke Hotel is a stay that feels indulgent yet unstuffy. Steeped in history and beauty, from its gardens to its architecture, the hotel pays tribute to a bygone era while embracing modern comforts. My thanks go to the late, Sir John Betjeman and his 1973 film, 'Metro-Land' - which featured Grim's Dyke all those decades ago. Watching the film again recently, inspired me to stay there. I shall return again to this jewel among hotels. Grim's Dyke was the perfect escape. I look forward to another visit again in the future.

The hotel was tucked away down a long drive through mature woodland with some spectacular old trees. It unfolded at the end of the road and it was a grand old dame of an arts and crafts building. Inside it was majestic and spacious with some very comfortable shared spaces. We glimpsed some conference rooms with splendid old fireplaces. It was grander than we'd imagined and so close to London about 12 miles but in a rural location. We didn't have time to explore the groundnut they looked impressive from our bedroom windows. Plenty of free parking spaces.

It was a bit tired looking in some parts of the room we had with some dated tiles etc but everything was in good working order and clean. Some of the decor was a bit loud. The approach road is bad in.places with large pot holes.

Great location. Restaurant was lovely for breakfast and dinner and staff very polite and helpful. Beautiful grounds, peaceful and calm.

Restaurant seemed to have run out of food by Friday, which as you going into a weekend, seems like bad planning. In the bar, limited snack menu with sandwiches being unavailable after 6pm. Would prefer a broader snack menu for evenings. Hotel annex block is a bit shabby but seems to be in the process of being redecorated.

The disabled access room was equipped with rails in the bathroom and a pull out shower seat.

The room is not suitable for wheelchair user. Very narrow entrance and narrow room. Would of liked removable shower head for bathing. Sink is not suitable for wheelchair user, too high. Difficult to brush teeth. Very cold on my stay despite using blanket. Guest who is elderly has caught cold. I understand it is an old historical building, however elderley guests with impaired mobility still want to enjoy the surroundings. Not able to explore trails, gardens, other than the entrance. Restaurant doorway, narrow and wheelchair unable to sit under table. Crockery very heavy for elderley person to manage. Lovely hotel, but really not suitable for wheelchair users, which is a shame.

The location of the hotel was perfect it felt away from everything yet was easy accessible to all amenities. The perfect getaway for tranquility or hustle and bustle whichever preferred. The food at the hotel was good and the staff really pleasant and helpful. An enjoyable stay.

I couldn't really fault any of the services. If anything a dividing rail between the balconies on the upper floor of the lodge (I stayed in 206) as visitors from other rooms were able to walk past the bedroom I was in.

The room was lovely, traditional country house style with enough modern comforts. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and very tasty. The location was ideal for a quick train ride into Euston without having to suffer the rigours of London driving.

The temperature in the Library bar was only just warm enough for me and too cold for my wife, I would have expected the radiators to have been on, especially with the French doors not closing very well and the windows being traditional stone mullion single glazed.
