The location is perfect as it’s a short walk into Bowness. The breakfast was good and the staff seemed very professional. The guy on reception was really welcoming, polite and helpful. It’s always a good start to walk into a place to find a friendly, happy reception on arrival. Free parking is a massive bonus in this area. The rooms we had were very spacious and beds were comfy enough.

The rooms we had were quite dated. Although we did walk past a room being cleaned that looked a lot more updated. So I suppose it’s pot luck on the room you get. One of the rooms we had, the window didn’t close properly. So it was a bit noisy but lucky it was the car park side and not road side

The hotels location was amazing, just a short walk to the lake and a good selection of restaurants. The room stated upon booking that it had a street view, however we had a lovely view of the pike. Room was modern and comfortable with a comfortable large bed and a newly refurbished bathroom. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection for vegetarian and vegan also. The owner of the hotel (i think) was very knowledgeable of the area and gave us some fantastic ideas of things to do, of which I am very grateful of as we had a wonderful time exploring!

There weren't any downsides. It would have been nice if the bar and lounge area were updated a bit to match the rooms, but overall, it was pleasant. Option for a laundry service would be nice. Lighting was a bit poor during the day. It would have been better if the little table wasn't there and the dressing table was closer to the window.

The change in bathing facilities to a shower area was welcoming. Breakfast and room cleanliness was good

Made our booking through an agency and were therefore surprised to find that we were not given a room at ground level which we specifically asked for when we made our booking. This was an inconvenience for P.I. due to trouble he has with his knee. We were offered after a period of time a ground floor room off the car parking area but by this time we had already unpacked our luggage and hung our belongings in the wardrobes provided, so it would have been too much of an effort to re-locate.

extremly comfy bed, room reasonable size, lovely view over the garden and hills, bathroom excellent, beautifully equipped with power shower, and nice size bath sheets, must also mention the bath/shower shampoo and hand soaps all from the Bath Shop really nice scent and good quality(so much so, bought some to take home) really peacefull stay, great location,a lovely walk down the hill to all that Bowness offers,

I think the breakfast could of been better,no problem with the full english menu as plenty of choice and really good value, but not much choice when it came to the continental.

The staff were soo caring and friendly with my 2 year old, allowing her to dance in the lounge/bar and sit and chat with staff. The location was so convenient to walk to everything we needed and it was so relaxed. Great local gift shops and bars with good variety of food choice. It was treat that we could walk (even with a 2 years old) to the lakeside in bowness within 20 mins. The rooms were so fresh and looked recently re done and they are environmentally friendly on cleaning as you wish. The decaff plus hot choc options with tea and coffee facilities in the room was fantastic for me.

Thoroughly enjoyed it all and will recommend around.

The room was lovely, modern, spacious and clean. A real family room with adjoining rooms and lovely clean and stylish bathroom. We travelled two hours to the location as my son has allergies to airborne things where we live (the lakes is meant to have the cleanest air so wanted to help his breathing in a more natural way) and also food allergies. The staff catered for us so well at breakfast, they made my little one a gluten free and dairy free cooked breakfast checking with me what was safe etc. he’s only 3 so he only wanted scrambled egg with sausage. But it was made fresh for him with supervision of the manager. We felt really taken care of here and that is rare for us to experience when we stay/eat out without the odd comment, eye roll or refusal to cater for his needs.

Breakfast brilliant. No plug for bathroom sink.

When I booked it was because reviews said restaurant meals were superb, but on arrival was told no evening meals available, why didn’t you tell myself this on the phone when I called. Probably wouldn’t have booked to be honest , as we like option of eating in or out.

The staff were nice, and the breakfast was lovely

We stayed in room 101 and there was a lot of mold on the bathroom ceiling, and no towels in the room when we arrived. I requested a dog friendly room, and received a messaged saying there would be no additional charge for this. When we arrived at the hotel, we was charged an additional £30 for the dog, and even though I showed staff messaged from them, they would not honour the price or accept the messages.

The room was as expected. Nice, comfortable bed, very clean, and with good facilities such as tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board etc. there was even a fan which was a welcome addition as the room was red hot and we couldn’t leave the windows open due to being on the main road side of the hotel. Great breakfast and lovely helpful staff throughout the hotel.

We were in a room on the top floor which appeared to be a loft room due to the eves and the low, slanted ceiling running right along the side of the bedroom behind the bed and right along into the bathroom. We were unable to sit up in bed properly to watch tv as our heads were hitting off the ceiling. The picture on the website shows the bed in the opposite wall which would be a better place for it to go. The same in the bathroom, it was difficult to bend over properly at the sink to get washed or brush our teeth, and my partner who is only 6ft couldn’t stand close to the toilet to pee as he kept banging his head off the ceiling.

All of the rooms and bathrooms have been recently refurbished. The rooms have a modern but still very cosy feel. The shower gel/shampoo provided is locally sourced and smells divine! The hotel is perfectly situated just a few minutes walk from the lake. Staff were very friendly, it was a personable service and we felt super welcome! Breakfast was buffet style, full English, cereal or continental with lake views. Great value for money would absolutely recommend this hotel, we stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect for a short break away.
