Staff very helpful..room 2 was spacious with good size bathroom comfy large bed...Beautiful breakfast..location excellent..evening meal was fab 👌 Will definitely return

My 3 night stay at the Royal Oak Inn was superb, i was attending a wedding at the Belsfield Hotel in Bowness which is just a minute walk away from the Royal Oak Inn. Very nice and welcoming staff including the manager Cristina, the bar tenders,, housekeeper and kitchen staff, great location near all the shops, pubs, and restaurants, a short walk to the lake and around a 20-25 min walk from Windermere train station. Very nice breakfast served from 8.30 am to 9.30am, the pub was great too with a good choice of beers and guiness,very nice beer garden to relax in and you can order food from the bar menu too, the steak and onion hot sandwich was delicious. My room was very comfortable and clean, nice double bed, shower, made myself a few cups of tea and coffee too in the room with the supplied kettle and tea/coffee. Great hotel and staff and would highly recommend the Royal Oak Inn.

Superb location right in the heart of Bowness-On-Windermere with on site parking. Tastefully decorated inside with muted tones. The super king bed was extremely comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities provided with extras available within the corridor to help yourself to, plus some biscuits to nibble on. Breakfast was a complete feast with everything cooked very well and the option to have cereal prior to this with juices. We were given 10% off any food purchased outside of breakfast and a loyalty card for beer!

Only minor point was the toilet was leaking at the back under the cistern.

Centrally located in Bowness on Windermere and good for shops, food, pubs etc. Has a nice seating and eating area outside. Breakfasts were good and set in a lovely calming environment. Room servicing was excellent. Extra tea and coffee for your room freely available in the hallway.

Car park is limited and didn’t want to move my car in case no space when I returned but this was not a problem for me on this occasion, I was happy to leave the car parked up. There was no Wi-Fi available.

location is fantastic, staff all lovely, breakfast delicious, bathroom good, the style of the room was really cut with little steps down to the bed - the bed was tiny - thank goodness we were only there 2 nights as we would have ended up divorced as we were practically slept on top of each other and neither of is particularly big. pillows very uncomfortable think they were pretty old and flat and hard - it can be a bit noisy but so t stay in a pub if you do t expect this so it’s. it a criticism just an observation. The TV was pretty ancient didn’t even have all freebies. gunnels so pretty annoying at bed time trying to find something to fall asleep to as it didn’t even have HDMI so could t even plug in a fire stick although there were no details of the FREE WI-FI advertised. All in all though for bowness prices this is a good place for a cheeky night away - nothing really bad to ruin anyone’s stay just maybe things that we we have all come to expect 😀

Friendly staff. Room was clean. Good shower and comfy bed. The breakfast and coffee were both very nice.

The gentleman who booked us in didn't realise they had a booking. I had to show him my confirmation. Very steep car park with small parking spaces, but that goes with the territory I suppose and at least there was parking. The room was comfortable, but very small. It had a cupboard and a chest of drawers. Fine for the one night, but we'd have struggled if we'd ridden there on our motorcycles, with all the gear that entales.

Friendly professional staff that were very accommodating and nice to chat too, excellent location in the center of town and close to the lake which made it an easy stay with elderly family, fantastic food our meal in the evening was lovely and none of us managed to finish, and a lovely breakfast to set you up for the day. Would definitely book again.

Nothing really would have loved a bay room, however we had a fantastic view from the top floor

Room was a little small. Had no chairs in it to sit down.

Central location, close to bars, shops & ferries. Room was on the small side but comfy, quirky & the view was out to the front of the hotel so we could gaze out across the town & over to the hills. Great home cooked food, good beer/ale selection. Staff were all lovely-friendly & engaging, a fabulous team, they really made us welcome & we will definately be coming back. Car park is a squeeze but hotel guests were mindful of this & we were all diplomatic & helpful to each other

Tiny car park BUT very well managed & wasn’t an issue, don’t let it put you off!

The staff were outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble and they were very attentive. The food was very good- had dinner and a fantastic breakfast and again the service at both was exceptional and very friendly. Food was very good value for money and there was a good choice of wine again very reasonably priced. The hotel was in a fantastic location and very clean and comfortable.

Our bedroom was very small with no where to sit other than on the bed, which wouldn’t have been an issue if the weather had been good and we could have made use of the lovely outdoor area. However it was very very wet and we had to spend more time in the room than we expected. it was however very clean and comfortable and well decorated and appointed- would just have been good to have a sitting area.
