The location of the Gardffon Inn was lovely, as was Y Felinheli itself, with bench tables across the road overlooking the Menai Straits, a perfect place to enjoy the sunshine with a beer from the Gardffon Inn. The rooms were fine and the bed comfortable. As it was extremely hot during our stay, a substantial fan was provided along with a kettle to make hot drinks and bottles of water. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not available at the Gardffon but a short walk to The Swellies gave us a decent breakfast choice. We did, however, have an evening meal at the Gardffon, which was very enjoyable. There were parking spaces for us (a party of 4 with 2 cars) both nights.

Under the Special Requests section of the booking form I said "we would love a sea view, if possible". The response back said "We are pleased to let you know that the accommodation has confirmed they will be able to arrange this for you. There will be no extra charge for this request." Unfortunately, neither room had a sea view which was disappointing but not worth complaining about. The inside of the shower cubicle had mould growing down the Aluminium frame which was slightly off-putting and could easily have been wiped away suggesting the inside of the shower cubicle didn't get the same attention as the rest of the bathroom. As it was so hot, the bedroom and bathroom windows were left open which meant that we could clearly hear the conversations of those chatting below.

Location was great to get around the whole area with the added bonus of being right on the sea front with a fantastic view across the Menai Straight. Room was clean and spacious. There was a lovely homely bar where staff and local customers spoke welsh. Staff were all really friendly and helpful and the food in the bar was excellent. Check in and check out was perfect.

The bed was a little bit hard but I like a soft bed so I guess this would not be a problem for most. There was no breakfast option available. They directed us to a lovely cafe called The Swellies. It was a short walk away and served a great breakfast in very pleasant surroundings. There was a bit of a smell in the stairway leading to the rooms. Probably unavoidable with wet boots going up and down but a bit more ventilation and the addition of an air freshener would help. It did not affect the room in any way.

The room was in the perfect location for us, it was an excellent size, the bathroom was nice and the beds were comfy. The room had a good sea-view and a relatively new bathroom. It was good value for money and parking was free. The pub itself was bustling and had a good atmosphere, with plenty of seating. We had no trouble getting a table at the restaurant, with the staff being very accommodating, and the food was cooked fresh.

We had a sea-view room and the pub-goers were loud; not a problem for us but worth a warning for the front-facing rooms. The room also had a strong smell like paint - the open window solved that. There was only one small bin... one in the bathroom and room would have been ideal. Be prepared to find parking down the road and walk back.

We arrived and was shown to our room, we were very happy with the most amazing view directly onto the Menai Strait. The room was large and the bathroom was excellent. Everything we needed was available, clean and really comfortable. We eat in the pub, they were very busy and we ended up ordering at the bar, but the food when it arrived was really good. We took our drinks out into the pub garden to watch the most stunning sundown, although we could have sat in our room and watched the sun go down as our view was exactly as the photo. Wished we had stayed longer, but we will definitely go back. We didn't venture from the pub, we were on a motorbike tour of the UK and we were happy when we arrived to relax and chill in the garden so not sure about surrounding locations so if you were looking for shops/restaurants etc you would need to check this out before booking as the pub was on a quiet road with pub parking opposite.

Couldn't really fault anything about our stay. We booked the night before we arrived and was lucky to have such a great room at a good price.

Staff were brilliant & we dined in. The food was excellent. They now have a Bingo night on Weds & I believe a Quiz night on Thursdays. A great place to stay if you plan to use the pub facilities but be aware room is directly above pub & quite noisy until closing time. After that it was extremely peaceful. Room was very clean & the beds were comfortable. We would recommend.

There was no Breakfast menu - only an option to have a continental style tray brought to room. There is a local cafe nearby that I believe opens around 8.30am. No individual thermostat in room so reliant on set temperature & you do have to leave the pub to go into a side entrance for accommodation. Only stairs to rooms - so be aware if you have mobility issues.

great location, handy for shops and a little walk to stretch the legs after a long day. busy bar on this weekend. good for a social. didn’t try the food as the place was mobbed. which is a good thing, I wish I’d booked a table earlier. lesson learned there. food looked great.

wi-fi in the room was poor, probably due to so many people being on it, I would have thought. nothing to dislike to be fair. apart from a guest near by had a proper loud snore on, got my revenge at 4.30am, when my alarm went off.

The hotel was a lot nicer in real life. I was expecting a basic dingy b&b but was pleasantly surprised. The bathroom was modern and shower was lovely! Bed was comfortable and the free extras (biscuits, water, toiletries) were of good quality! Dinner in the restaurant was great!

There's no dedicated reception area which is random. And it took a while to be greeted. A while in my books is only a couple of minutes, but when youre standing waiting to be greeted, even a smile or eye contact whilst busy serving others would work. I was sleeping on top of the cellar and the noise was drowning! Also thin walls so you can hear doors opening and closing, people talking which you cant normally hear in other hotels.

A wonderful place to stay in the beautiful village of Y Felin Heli with stunning views across the Menai Straits. It was always going to be a given that with views like that, the stay was going to be enjoyable. But what really made our trip was all the members of staff who looked after us so very well. They went above and beyond accommodating a special request for a sea view room for my dad’s birthday, they were able to offer us a table for dinner even though they were fully booked and they even put Eurovision on the tele in the pub lounge area for us in the evening so that we could continue to relax downstairs after our meal. I really couldn’t find a fault with anything. The food is exceptionally good too. Diolch yn fawr iawn, we would love to come back again!

The mattress in the room I stayed in felt a little unsupportive but this might just be my personal preference. The room my parents stayed in said they did not have any issues with their mattress.

The room was so cosy! The whole room including ensuite was stylish, lovely and warm, well furnished and clean. We didn't get an amazing window view but didn't need one, as the inn looks onto a gorgeous marina, we even spotted a heron catching it's dinner in the evening. We were a little confused at first, having never stayed in an inn before and approaching the bar for the key. However, settling in was easy with how kind Imogen was when showing us our room. The facilities were great, tea, coffee, nice biscuits, fresh towels, power shower, hairdryer, TV etc etc all small things that can get overlooked, but were greatly appreciated in our case.

The inn noise was expected but did still disturb us, which is something to be wary of before staying. The window doesn't open/there's no way of adjusting temperature there.

The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had the non-seaview double room which was spotless, plenty of storage and a really comfortable bed. The bar has plenty of comfortable seating inside and a lot of tables outside with amazing views across the Menai Straits. Had dinner in the restaurant and at first glance the cost of the mains seemed high until you see the portion sizes - worth every penny. Everything was homemade and fresh. Parking was free. Would highly recommend staying here.

There is nothing to dislike. Couldn't fault the staff or amenities.
