Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham/280 East-Eagle Point

The breakfast selection was fairly standard for this type of property but the buffet and eating area was kept quite tidy. We rented a King suite which was very roomy and made our 5 night stay quite comfortable for 2 people. There were also a good selection of restaurants and shopping in this suburb of Birmingham.

The room rate was on the high side for this location some 14 miles from downtown Birmingham. The purpose of our visit was to attend the World Games in which the sporting venues were generally 'in town', so a bit of driving through traffic every day. Although this location was my choice...

Liked the staff, the room, the bathroom, the breakfasts.

The door was askew and made a loud rubbing noise when opened or closed. The thermostat had to be set at 78 to get any heat at night. The room needs a recliner not just a chair.

The staff were wonderful, friendly and very responsive to requests. Very Clean location, quiet and secluded, great facilities and amenities. Ask about a suite instead of just a room, you will like the extra space and comfort.

Breakfast items that were supposed to be hot were lukewarm, but the staff took care of everything. I have addressed these issues to management. Very comfortable breakfast area.

The room was spacious and the bed and couch were very comfortable. It was also very quiet which was a welcome change from many other places we have stayed.

It was not easy finding the road leading to the entrance as we arrived at night-the road was busy and not well marked so I passed the turn but was able to do an easy u-turn at a traffic light.

Very nice stay. The area was beautiful and the hotel was easy to find. It was close to everything you might need. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Beds were fine I enjoy that pillows are back to normal size not the squares that everyone was going to a few years back. Breakfast was simple grab and go with Covid. We miss the nicer meals that we used to get when traveling but understandable. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Not sure if the driveway had another entrance. We had to drive through a parking lot for stores and restaurants to get to the hotel. Not a big deal but not a simple access.

I was greeted pleasantly by several staff members. I was thanked for being an Honors member and offered a gift bag. I particularly enjoyed the Citrus flavored water in the lobby. I also liked the very nice fitness center.

The bed was very comfortable! The staff was very amiable, willing to help whenever we needed anything! This place is in close proximity to our family living in the area. We had a great Christmas with them and were glad to be able to get rested every night before heading over to play with nieces, nephews, and grandchildren!

The first morning we woke to dogs barking in the hallway. Later that morning we heard it again and peeked out. A woman and 2 dogs were heading down the hallway. I suppose if dogs are allowed you should ask if they are trained to not bark! (It can be done!)

The breakfast was excellent - hot eggs and bacon, hot tea and juice! The location was very nice, near to shopping and restaurants - we had dinner at The Anvil and lunch on Saturday at Bellini's, both of which were FANTASTIC!!!!

The weather - but you didn't have any control over that.

Clean, very nice. A little scary regarding Covid exposure because it got a bit crowded right before Thanksgiving. But the staff and chain protocol did all they could to minimize risk. There were wipes by all the elevators so you didn’t even have to touch an elevator button. I even felt fairly safe getting breakfast - it was all handled in the best possible manner. It’s impossible to eliminate 100% of risk, but it was minimized as much as could be expected. There’s no way to completely control how other guests behave.

My key card didn’t work on the outside and neither did the key app on my phone.

The breakfast was tasty and I enjoyed a lot. The staff were all nice.

The property was a little old so as my bed. After sleeping on it for a few days, my lower back started hurting.
