Gaia Hotel & Spa Redding, Ascend Hotel Collection

We have been before on a company paid overnight. The experience was not the same as we remember, though much has changed everywhere. All of the staff and patrons are accomodating and lovely! Honestly, the rooms are very insulated, comfortable and enjoyable. Unbeatable for the price! The size is enormous, even with a king bed!

There are a few issues with maintenance (not cleanliness) that could be addressed. The outer doors are a bear to open with key cards, they just didn't seem to want to work (security feature or frustration?). There were provided ammenities such as a blow drier (wonderful, we didn't pack one!), which hadn't seen a cleaning or replacement (who checks that, anyway?) The pool and hot tub are quite nice, especially in the summer, but the gate key reader doesn't function.

Pool! Ice machine was nearby, quiet area and rooms. Nice restaurant (had drinks and dessert). Nice lobby & grounds, pleasant employees, rooms fine w/large refrigerator.

Comforter in room was damaged. Was difficult too reach reception and automated system was useless. Took over an hour too handle getting a replacement comforter. Pool gate card reader broken. Offered room service but reception said they were short staffed.

Bar/Restaurant on property- Beautiful landscape \fire places for sitting outside , quiet place

Credit card deposit was higher than any other place that I stayed and it takes a long time to go back on card. NO food services on Mondays next door at Woodys Bar and Grill. NO Elevator if you must have one but it was easy to climb up stairs

Location was close to Hwy 5. Bed was comfortable and they had a fridge and microwave.

Room was Dusty. Hotel restaurant food was OK. Drinks and wine options were delicious. Bartender, restaurant staff and hotel staff were fabulous. Just didn't feel like a $194. dollar hotel.

We've stayed here before and really appreciate the very large rooms which allow us to keep our valuable bicycles in the room with us. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are well-appointed with microwave and mini-fridge.

Disappointed that the running toilet was dismissed as being unrepairable in the midst of a devastating drought.

nice big room with a patio (although our patio only looked out on parking). nice grounds, potential for interesting birds attracted by the pond.

we ate at the attached restaurant. maybe we just ordered poorly, but our meals were awful. can recommend the inn, but would avoid the restaurant in the future.

Nice location for those traveling with a pet. Spacious room with plenty of desk space and several chairs. Comfortable sheets. Nice to have a patio. Grounds were nice for the most part. Enjoyed the fountain and the areas with foliage.

I just arrived at night and it was really hard to find the room and no one was there to guide you, other peiple where going trough the same issue, and it tooks us like 30 minutes to find the rooms..

I liked everything, it was really clean, quite , peaceful!!! All except the pounding on the door at 9a.m. by the house keeper on a saturday!

I did not like waking up to the housekeeper banging on my door at 9a.m. on a Saturday.. Check out time is 11a.m. I mean I get the hospitality business cause I'm in it but damn really 9.a.m. then again at 10. 11 o'clock people!

Choose the pond view room and delighted that we did. Very relaxing. Enjoyed walking the grounds. The restaurant was delicious and friendly.

Both reception staff were minimally cordial. Not what I expected from a place called 'gaia'.
