Ramada by Wyndham Arcata

Very well taken care of hotel considering it’s age. On the opposite side of the 101 without all the other hotels so the homeless population is much smaller.

The parking is very sparse as I had a difficult time finding an open spot all nights I stayed. Hotel was a little more expensive then I’d prefer but considering the summer time it made sense.

The lodging is an excellent location with a Mexican restaurant located in the same parking lot. Other restaurants and a supermarket are just a short drive from the lodging. They converted their keys to the easy to use method, where you just touch the outside of the door

They used to offer hot breakfasts with scrambled eggs and sausage. Now they only offer a continental breakfast with a very poor selection of food.

the room was comfortable, quiet and the beds were comfortable, The breakfast was good. i only stayed a brief time at the hotel because of me visiting family most of the day.

when i checked in they gave me a room someone else already had, I had to go to front desk and the front desk gave me another room...

The room was clean and quiet as well as large. I asked for extra pillows. The clerk at the front desk was very accommodating. She sought the pillows out and brought them to our room. Above and beyond service. The breakfast was good. The area was clean. The staff kept everything in order and stocked.

Great location just north of arcade and Eureka but near the junction of 101 and 299. Four enough of the highway that they’re all wasn’t much highway noise.

room was missing cups for drinking. The shower curtain was mounted too far from the tub to keep water in the tub.

We booked with booking.com. the very next day my husband tested positive for Covid. I asked if we could cancel. Since our travel dates were 2 weeks out. I called the Ramada. they said it was a non refundable booking. to contact booking.com. I did they suggested I email the hotel. They never responded.

It looks like they were understaffed and struggling to keep the rooms stocked and in good repair. I let the front desk know about some problems with the room (coffee maker, toilet roll holder, bath mat). They were very polite and concerned. They fixed the issues very quickly.

Breakfast was a bag of pre-packaged items due to Covid restrictions. Not a very good selection - I think they could have done much better.

I was staying at the Ramada for night to get warm and take a hot bath for my home didnt have any power for about a week about a week on account of intense damage from wind storms. The room had a fireplace heater that was a bonus and the staff was very helpful.

I was worried about the hotel, as it’s probably the lowest rated one I ever took on Booking.com, but it actually turned out pretty well! Room was comfortable and clean, staff friendly. There’s also a solid Mexican restaurant next door.

The packaged breakfast is really basic
