Apples was a very nice surprise for us. The pictures did not do justice and no words can describe the most welcoming and fairy-tale atmosphere of the place. From the very first moment of our arrival, we felt Christmas magic. And it was not just beautiful decorations and professional hostess, it was more than that. All the guests mingled easily and played games in the lobby next to the fire place, sang songs, played music…We became like a family and shared our stories and joyful moments. Laurie helped us with her advice to find the best restaurants and entertainment places which were just 5-6 minute distant from our place. In contrast to modern design which puts emphases on gray and black, Apples preserved real Victorian atmosphere where one can find colorful walls, antique tea cups to enjoy evening tea or coffee after skiing in picturesque mountains of Big Bear. If you want to get Royal breakfast and enjoy large variety of delectable bakery of Jessica, Apples is the right and only place for you. We will certainly go back to Apples to enjoy this magic place. The breakfast both mornings we had it were delicious. The aesthetic was wonderful. The Christmas decorations were very homey, as was the whole atmosphere. And the free beverage bar was nice. It was great sipping on hot Apple Cider while waiting for breakfast. The room was cozy with a great view of the snowy landscape. It had a nice and roomy jacuzzi tub. There was also a DVD player and a shelf full of DVDs you could peruse and borrow from, which we did. I also talked to Laurie about potentially shooting a movie there and she was very receptive to that idea, which apparently had happened before, and that's another plus specifically for me as a filmmaker.

An HD TV would've been nice, maybe access to streaming services or at least a Blu-ray player. The TV was small, as well, but adequate for the room. The website also mentioned light appetizers, which weren't provided, but I assume this was due to COVID. The location was fine, but there wasn't much within walking distance in the way of food. And with driving being such a hassle in the snow, that's the only reason this stuck out.

The staff was very kind, the free breakfast was delicious. It was a cute place to stay and very clean. they have a little tea /microwave station that guests can use at all times in the common area.

the driveway is kind of narrow because of the white picket fence they have in the front and it’s easy to pass up or miss your turn. Also the desk in our room was too low for the chair they had paired with it and I was planning on doing a little work in my down time so that was a little frustrating that there was no space for my legs.

I am satisfied with all the facilities, cleanliness, staff and silence, only our room was very hot and there was no air conditioner and we could sleep from night to morning from the heat and the Wi-Fi internet was very disconnected and connected and I am not satisfied with the internet

The staff overall was great but the older women who greeted us was not very friendly or welcoming. She made it seem as though we were an inconvenience being there. But a young gal working there was super helpful and very nice and even though we only saw her once she was very accommodating. The place definitely takes you back to a different era which is what we were looking for. The garden is absolutely beautiful and the breakfast they served was great! Everything was homemade and you could really taste that! This was a very nice BNB and I recommend people to stay here to check out of the city life and check in with the mountain life. Despite the not so friendly woman who checked us in, the rest was great!

The older white woman who checked us in was not very friendly and made us feel like we were an inconvenience checking in. She maybe was having an off day but it still was a bit disheartening as this place has great reviews. So first impression is always important.

Pros: the place it’s very clean, it’s kinda of old style, I really like the concept, the decoration is very nice, it’s more like a honeymoon place 😆 very unique, beds were confortables and the Atmosphere was amazing, there was a lot of snow when we stay so my daughter had the time of her life playing around all morning in the patio

Cons::: let’s talk about the breakfast, it was so sad, they gave us a paper bag with a muffing wrapped in plastic( looked kinda old) an orange, and a cold broiled egg 😔I know it’s due to Covid but come on!!! It was from days ago. The staff seemed bother every time I asked for coffee. They have it in the kitchen where you’re not allow to get, they made us felt like if we were bothering or interrupting their conversation, not really a good customer service. Something I notice you mistake is that the keys they give you opens all the rooms, because I got into the next one by mistake, which it was empty, so I tried them in all of the other ones because I have a kid with me, so it made me feel kind of unsafe to leave with my things in the room, or not locking the top lock.

The breakfast is superb. We ate outdoors in an immaculate setting with tall trees, perfect lawn, and fountain. The owner and her help brought the breakfast to the table, and the breakfast included 5 well matched home made dishes.

Friendly staff. Nice and cozy. My 4 year old loved the popcorn machine. Quiet.

Some issues with the television. My husband and son are lactose intolerant and were not able to enjoy the breakfast choices offered each morning.

Both of the breakfasts we had were very good. On the first day we had stuffed french toast with bacon. On the second day the main part of the breakfast was a very tasty small egg dish with a homemade apple bread pudding ish side. This was a great combination and delicious. The backyard and grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained. There were many tables outside and we actually brought our lunch in from town and ate it in the backyard. This was a much larger bed and breakfast than what we are used to, however my wife and daughter made good friends and conversation with Tracy. We ended up booking the Saturday afternoon tea for the three of us and it was a wonderful experience.

There wasn't much not to like. The only thing missing was perhaps either a small refrigerator in the room or a common refrigerator to store food.
