Holiday Inn Resort The Lodge at Big Bear Lake, an IHG Hotel

Hotel able to accommodate us for an earlier check in. Staff Friendly, bar in the evening friendly, easy walking distance to the shops/town.

Our room was right next to the elevator which we thought might be noisy, but no very quiet all evening. There was a sign posted in the elevator to respect quiet from 9 pm to 9 am so that was great. Would like a later check out, however all hotels seem to use 11 am time frame. Front desk advised that you at Booking.com need to give us our check out receipt. Still havent received anything from you??? So don't like that about YOUR company, not Holliday Inn???

This was our second stay at The Lodge at Big Bear Lake. We really really like this hotel. It's right there at the Village. It's quiet, dog friendly (yet you wouldn't know that there are dogs staying in the hotel, they are so quiet at night!). We stayed in the King Superior Family Room, on the third floor. Room is huge, great for a family & dogs. Nice size refrig, large closet with plenty of hangars, a bathroom vanity with double sinks, two easy chairs, very comfortable. This hotel offers live entertainment-fabulous with a drink/meal to relax with after a day of skiing. We used the jacuzzi one night-large enough to social distance in, staff was friendly, we will definitely stay again.

The carpet in the room is really stained. Some of the furniture is looking worn. Other than that-nothing.

We usually stay at Holiday Inns. Some are a lot nicer than other. This one was a B. Probably clean and we always love the pillows. It would have been nice to have two chairs. The balcony/patio area was an unexpected treat.

There were nests of swallows up in the rafters just outside the entrance that we used. I wouldn't want them removed, but a little bit of a roof for protection would have been nice. Also, our car was bombed many times. There wasn't anything specifically wrong, just a shabby feeling to the room.

We needed safety during a storm, and we got it! We moved from a rental cabin with a lot of trees we were concerned about to this location, because this was a secure, established building/location with a quality reputation and we had been here before. Also, the front desk staff handled the storm really well. They were very positive, helpful and upbeat, despite what must have been stressful times. We were really impressed. (I used to work at the Hotel Del in Coronado at the front desk.) It’s cozy, has a great bar and restaurant, and is in a perfect location. And the minimal additional fee to get a room with a fireplace was WELL worth it!!

Anything we didn’t like was based on the storm, not the hotel. The hotel did a great job handling the storm, electricity shut downs, bar/restaurant service with limited staffing, etc.

We decided to not eat breakfast and used our payed breakfast coupons because they have only one waitress serving there and there is a long waiting time for lot of gusts . people usually go there for skiing and it starts early morning at 9 and they cannot wait for a long time for breakfast. I recommend do not buy and plan to have breakfast there.

I loved the size of the room. The bed was huge! The shops and trees were literally down the street so it was a short walk. There was a game room and restaurant in the hotel.

I wish there was a menu at the lobby or in the room and hours that the restaurant is open ( and when they are serving adult beverages) but nothing major. Honestly loved this place!

Room was very clean and looked nice. Location was perfect: an easy walk to Big Bear Village. The pool was clean and a nice temperature. There was one staff member (maintenance perhaps) that was very welcoming. We also appreciated the mini fridge and microwave in the room.

Price to value could have been better. When one spends more than $600 for a two night stay one expects MORE than the average holiday inn experience. Hotel as a whole has an average appearance (the lobby was super nice though). House keeping came earlyish while we had the "come back later" sign up but she never did return so we lacked fresh towels and cups. The staff at the desk were proficient but not friendly. They did not smile, say "welcome". "thank you for coming" or "how was your stay?". It would also have been nice if we had been told when we checked in what was available to us. Maybe there was more to the resort than we were aware that would have raised the price to value ratio. Our overall stay was pleasant but we wanted a little bit MORE for the price.

The staff was friendly, we loved the room it was very clean and comfortable, cozy feel.

Their was loud work happening from very early in the morning about 7-7:30 til we checked out which was a little frustrating we only booked one night as a get away for my birthday and wanted to sleep in and it was pretty impossible with all the banging

Centrally located. Excellent service. Great staff. LOTS of parking. Clean, comfortable. LOVED the in room fireplace. LOVED the fluffy pillows.

There was nowhere to get food on site. However there was an ad for breakfast inside the door of the elevator. 😔

The guy at the front desk was impatient with me like he was tired of answering the same question for the millionth time. Maybe he was having a rough time in life and it came off as abrupt and impatient, or maybe he is just not right for that particular position serving the public.
