Amazing Breakfast, and an amazing afternoon buffet. Lots of variety and was really tasty. Complimentary cans of soft drinks, tea and coffee, and really nice baked cookies in the afternoon. Lovely decor in the rooms. Amazing location in the heart of Carmel. They provided us with a pack and play for our 10 month old son. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There was a beautiful fire in the eating area. It has really easy access to the main roads, to drive to Monterey or Point Lobos Nature Reserve

We knew this when we booked so it’s not an issue per se, but if you have babies and want to be able to separate them in the evening so they can go to sleep peacefully, it’s not really possible. There isn’t a kitchen area etc but this was made clear to us and isn’t a bad point, just something to consider with little ones. We weren’t aware of any lifts/accessibility so stairs was the only option to get to our room. The price is higher than average but this is more a reflection of the entire area than the accommodation itself.

The room was spacious, well appointed and exceptionally clean, recently repainted I think. The bed was also immensely comfy. The happy hour every day was a nice touch, a good place to chat with other guests, get local tips & nice food. Breakfast was fresh, varied and delicious.

Daily housekeeping at that price point is expected but we were informed after booking that it's not offered. I doubt anyone will use the hot tub as it needs cleaning and the dirt you can see in it put us off even trying it or the sauna. They are doing renovations/construction right now in some rooms which can be noisy, they do start early, it was close to us and I feel they should state that at booking or at latest at check-in. Also be aware parking is tight, low ceiling & limited so you may be required to park on the street.

The location is great - you can walk to any place from the hotel. Comfort is awesome - mattresses and pillows are the best. Staff is friendly and provides a good service. You make your breakfast order a night before and it is brought to your room by the time you want it. It was delicious. There is also snack pack provided from 1pm to 4 pm - a glass of wine, some cheese, crackers and cookies.

The sauna and hot tub were not working and the price remained the same as if they were available. Parking on the premises was also limited - had to use a public parking (but it's right around the corner).

We loved our stay at this stunning hotel. Beautiful inside and out, and in the perfect location for exploring Carmel. We could see everything we wanted to by foot, including the beach (just prepare for the climb on the way back up!) and fairytale cottages. The breakfast was delicious, and the wine and nibbles every afternoon was a brilliant touch - we loved it and spent a few hours every day of our stay enjoying the wine in the sunshine. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Our only negative is that our room wasn’t ready (although we checked in after check in time), and still wasn’t ready after we had sat for a few hours in the hotel dining room. The receptionist was so apologetic so definitely an honest mistake, so it didn’t cloud our impression of this hotel at all

Quality hotel. Friendly staff. Complimentary afternoon cheese and wine on the house. Popcorn in the microwave and breakfast. Quality linen and lovely room in the heart of carmel by the sea. Took electric bikes from mad dogs and englishmen just one block away, which was well worth the day out cycling the 17 mile drive away the coast into monterey.

Even though the pillows and bedding were quality, they were just far too soft and long for us, struggling to sleep as no support from the pillows.

The property is in a great location in central Carmel, incredibly close to lots of great restaurants, bars and shops and a 15 minute walk from the beach. The breakfast was great with a different entree every morning, and the wine/cheese and cookies every afternoon was exceptional and something we have not experienced before. The lady at the front desk was lovely and very helpful, and the room was spacious with an incredibly comfortable bed. Overall we are incredibly pleased with our stay!

The room was ever so slightly outdated with carpet and slightly older furniture but it did not affect our stay in any way!

The location is terrific for walking to shops and restaurants in Carmel. The breakfasts and happy hour were very well done. The management and staff were friendly, knowledgeable, informative and efficient. A plumbing issue arose that necessitated our move to another room and the switch was done with minimal inconvenience. We will stay at Coachman's on our next visit to Carmel. Warren Peabody

ALL WAS GOOD

Clean and well-appointed room, location excellent

Hotel is situated with rooms facing into parking lot, so any noise from people coming and going is amplified. We were awakened from 1-2 am the first night by what I believe was a drunken wedding party. I actually went out in my nightgown and shushed them, once I figured out where the noise was coming from. The room can be stuffy, and no air, so you have to crank open the windows, with the trade-off in cooling off being the noise from anyone walking by or driving their car into the parking, which faces all the rooms.

Location is excellent for checking out all of Carmel on foot. The staff was helpful, we were given the wrong key and they walked us back to our room to make sure the new key worked. The wine/cheese afternoon spread is a nice touch. Breakfast was very nice. Simple egg fritatta, baked goods and a nice array of fruit. Good coffee and juice. The courtyard is nicely secluded.

Tuesday morning the trash pick up was at 6:30am and was so loud, rolling the dumpster back and forth went on forever. Very limited seating outside of the breakfast room for all the guests to share.

We were in Rm. 204. We requested a quiet room as my wife is a light sleeper. But, on the first night, the room above us was very noisy. There were heavy stumping of foot traffic and moving of things continuously from 10-12pm, then started again at 5-6am. Both my wife and I could hardly sleep. We complained to the management in front desk. We would appreciate some compensation for this inconvenience.
