Rodeway Inn near Downtown Monterey

The night staff was friendly. The room seemed mostly clean. The floors are wooden style floors, which means less likely to have bugs. The bed was quite comfortable. I slept very sound and was rested. The Inn was across the street from a mall, where we ate at Islands restaraunt. The Inn is also across from a park like area where there is a walkway instead of a sidewalk, for a relaxing stroll. The beds were comfortable

The parking here sucks! We'll for me at least..I have a 1-ton truck, which this small lot is NOT conducive for the size of my truck. Luckily I was able to back into the corner spot to park, next to the handicap spot. But turning that beast could've been very challenging, if not impossible, if the lot was full of cars. Getting to this place was not as easy as you think. Only 1 way in. The floors were dirty, as if they don't sweep or mop. The TV was not tuned for any channels. We had the King "suite", which is significantly smaller than the double queen, where my kids stayed in. I wish the Inn would've had some sort of breakfast. With the amount of money you pay for the room you'd think at least a continental something or another would show some appreciation towards the guests.

Room was mainly clean and comfortable. Microwave, coffeemaker and fridge worked fine.

Some sheets and towels had little stains. it was cold in the room, we didn’t manage to get the heater on. The lady at the reception seemed a bit annoyed by us showing up, but it was okay. The neighbours were very loud, that’s not a mistake by the motel, but the walls seem to be quite thin. Worst part is the entry to the parking, it is really steep and when we drove off, our car touched down. That should somehow be resolved before a car gets seriously damaged.

Very clean and comfortable. Staff was adequate... quickly checked me in and that was it. Returned key to slot on check out so no big interactions. Met with local friends for dinner and 17 mile drive the next day, location was perfect.

Really noisy footsteps in room above us at 3am and 6am. Really loud. So maybe consider a top floor room. Parking lot was a little tight and the driveway is really steep... don't scrape.

for the price point ($75 per night with taxes and fees), it was well worth it. the motor hotel is well kept and clean. the staff (Mr. Patel and the housekeeping folks) are friendly. the room was recently renovated and was well equipped with a Keurig, microwave and refrigerator. The flooring is faux wood vinyl and much better we than dingy old carpet. there is a nice picnic area with a fire pit. Very close and convenient to the nearby Monterey Community Hospital. lobby photo below is another picture of the king room.

Minor issues - the vinyl shutters do not keep all of the light out. And, the small window in the bathroom was not too secure. An easy fix.

Good location across from mall with variety of restaurants. Recently updated. Close to 101 freeway.

Limited amenities, no breakfast. I be stayed her a few times, usually in the fall, and it is usually reasonable, however, seemed pretty pricey this time, I suppose because it was summer and tourist season.

The room had no carpeting just great hardwood flooring, which is a plus if you have allergies! You could tell that the room was newly furnished & the location of the hotel/motel was even better than I expected. It was just off Hwy 1.

can't wait till they finish their new parking lot.

Clean large rooms, comfortable bed great location. Shopping and good dining very close by and easy freeway access.

Former owner, Knights Inn had light breakfast, juices and hot chocolate available in the morning. No longer available, this is a big loss.

you can not enter the office and this is fine because of Covid but my ID was grabbed and I didn’t have it for 5 minutes or more, I didn’t grant any permission to move with it around the office where I can’t see what happens with my documents. This is very unsafe and your identity can be easily stolen, be aware! otherwise I don’t have any concerns

This was a charming lil motel. Beautiful flowers and plants surround the property. We booked last minute as we were driving south on the coast. The young lady at the desk was helpful and very pleasant. Great staff are hard to find she’s a keeper. The room was clean, updated and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

Very clean, beds and pillows were really comfortable. Plenty of towels and even a microwave were available. Just across the street opportunities to buy groceries. It is a really good option for a reasonable price. Would book again.
