Inn at Playa del Rey

A very nice location, close to a wildlife refuge. Awesome views and rather quite (quiet enough for LA, at least) as for a place located so close to LAX. Ca. 15min drive to car rentals with plenty of gas stations underway. A very nice, big room. Nice common areas, overlooking the green areas. Free parking. We checked in very late but that was still OK. We stayed only 1 night but if I knew of this place earlier we would have stayed longer.

The night manager on duty that night tried to photocopy our IDs and argued this is normal practice. It isn't. A gluten-free alternative to a very simple breakfast was a piece of melon.

The staff were very friendly. Our room was large and quiet. We appreciated the public spaces where we could meet with our visitors. The location near the airport was very convenient. We did find some nice cafes and restaurants nearby.

We weren’t told that they were not having their homemade breakfasts due to issues with state regulations. The minimal breakfast catered in was not appealing so we went out. The unusually cold, windy weather was a problem. We had to run the window heater to keep warm. The hall and public spaces were very chilly in the evening.

Did not personally participate in the breakfasts (as the lack of specific choices left a lot to be desired if you cannot eat bread or don't eat sugar, etc) but everything about the stay was wonderful. All staff was friendly and very accommodating and seemed genuinely interested in whether or not I was enjoying my stay, etc. Would ABSOLUTELY stay here again for the quality of service and community feel. Blown away by the level of hospitality!

Would have loved to have a mini-fridge in the room or easy access to an ice machine & bucket. For such a long stay, was a little arduous to need to call for ice each day before staff left in the evening (~9pm) to keep things cold in the room as desired.

Concerned about air circulation in the room, given that we know now that COVID is airborne and can live in the air for hours. We kept the windows open which was a little noisy. We hadn't realized until we checked in that the ventilation system was all connected, so we blocked the vents and opened the windows. It would be nice to have information posted about your air filtration/ventilation system. Clearly, it will become more important to know as the pandemic wears on. And others begin.

The public areas were very attractive & we enjoyed the deck overlooking the natural preserve. We also enjoyed the entire bottle of wine with packaged snacks they provided for Happy Hour. Parking and security were good. There were some nice restaurants nearby.

The room needed a bit of maintenance as did the porch attached. There was a lot of traffic noise if you tried to sit out there. Breakfast was burritos probably catered from the takeaway Mexican restaurant down the street. They were just OK.

The Inn at Playa del Rey was great. We arrived quite late in the evening and the room was set up nice and welcoming with bedside lamps switched on, soft classical music playing, cookies on the table. The Inn is located in a quiet area where it's convenient to take walks to the beach or rent a metro bike and take the bike paths towards Venice Beach and Santa Monica. The bed was big and comfy, breakfast had everything we needed (but be ready to go without meat). One extra thing which would put the Inn over the top to luxury level would be some comfy robes and slippers in the room.

cute cozy B&B style inn. staff were very friendly. nice wine & cheese happy hour and good breakfast. nice to have a parking garage and elevator for easy in and out. loved the bathtub! and cute courtyard area. even a small bottle of complimentary wine for my one night stay!

a little noisy from the street and airport nearby, and adjacent rooms. but overall nothing to complain about!

What a lovely place to stay! Our room was large, had a fireplace, balcony overlooking a wetlands preserve and a large bathroom with jetted tub. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The morning breakfast was the best I’ve had at a location like this and the late afternoon wine and snacks were a super special treat. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a quaint, quiet, restful place to stay near the beach.

very private and comfortable location, feels like home. our room was huge and had a balcony overlooking the march. we could see the boats at Marina Del Rey beyond the march.

breakfast was really minimal and tasteless. Also there was no ability to get snacks. we had to go to a cafe or supermarket.

Secured place. First time checking in, and you need to be buzzed in by intercom. Staff very friendly. Place is so warm and inviting. Love the special attention with breakfast and snacks. Room was spacious and nicely decorated. It was overcast, but we still had fun riding on the available cruiser bikes at a nearby beach bike path. It was a perfect place for a mother-daughter getaway. We enjoyed our stay, and plan to come back.

Minor - door rattled at times when someone would close the exit door in the hallway which at first startled us thinking someone is trying to open the door.
