Holiday Inn Express Newport Beach, an IHG Hotel

I don’t remember the name of the lady who checked me in, but we could’ve been fast friends. She was excellent, probably the best I’ve ever experienced. The room was spacious and clean; the bed incredibly comfortable as well as the linens. Would love to have taken that home with me. I didn’t use the coffee maker, but it was a nice one. The TV was great and the option of channels was better than most. I just got to say that I was incredibly surprised at how much I loved my experience.

Shower head and shower faucet needs to be replaced. But the rest of the bathroom was fine.

The room was very comfortable and provided all the amenities we needed. Breakfast was available in a lovely dining room with a very capable staff person who attended to every need and provided a very tidy, clean environment. The location was easy to get to and was centrally located to various attractions.

Breakfast was delicious but could have added more choices, i.e., donuts, omelette station, make your own waffle machine, (the pancake machine was fun!), fresh cut fruit, bacon.

Breakfast was included; staff super friendly and location top. Rooms have been cleaned every day and were cleaned perfectly fine. Pool/whirlpool area clean and not too many people. Rented bicycles to discover newport beach; nice restaurants close by.

In my opinion, too much plastic for breakfast. I think that's no longer appropriate these days. Otherwise ok

Nice dining room for a very decent hotel buffet breakfast with nice water views. Comfortable rooms with private windows; could keep curtains open and maintain privacy. Great location right next to Newport Harbor. Easy, safe parking.

Had to call twice to have toilet fixed. VERY EXPENSIVE for this kind of a room in February. Only reserved because the rest of our party stayed there. Felt like a better deal could have been available elsewhere.

Location was good. Parking was difficult since we have a big truck and only one way in and out.

Windows are not very sound proof. Our room was right above the lobby so everyone getting dropped off (12-15 20-somethings) were super noisy which would be expected. UA ASU chanting in the parking was particularly ironic since we were in California and from Arizona.

We booked the hotel through Booking.com, and there was a problem with our reservation, it didn't seem to go through. The staff was extremely helpful checking us in even though it was past midnight, and the price was the same as when I originally booked it. I also told him that it was my husband's birthday celebration and they gave us a gift bag and a suite on the second floor! We also got an amazing breakfast in the morning and a late checkout. The room was spacious and with a pretty view! This hotel was in the perfect spot to get to the beach and the town. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Newport! Also very affordable! I was satisfied with everything about our stay! Thank you so much for everything!

No problems with our hotel. Everything was wonderful!

The breakfast was very good! Loved the hot foods variety: pancakes, eggs, bacon, yummy warmed rolls, etc. The coffee was excellent! We used the hot tub and pool- very nice and clean! The room was nice: Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave were all handy. The beds were comfortable!

The room was a little small, but, otherwise nice!

The location of the property worked well for taking Uber to Newport pier, fashion island, and John Wayne airport. The complimentary breakfast for my child was the best part of this hotel. There were so many options for her.

The property could use an update. I realize this is Newport Beach so the price reflects the area/location, but I expected a more updated hotel for the cost.

Great breakfast because young grandson LOVES hotel waffles/pancakes. Nana liked the eggs and bacon and the coffee was very good, everything clean and well organized. The staff was on top of clearing and cleaning tables and very friendly.

The internet was down are whole stay. Unfortunately for Nana, I pay by the GIG so ended up with overage charges this trip. A rare occurrence, staff was apologetic. Upon arrival we did get into a room before 3:00, that was nice and much appreciated.

comfy beds, great shower, awesome blackout curtains, good a/c, maid service replaced our towels without us even having to ask while we were out. breakfast was good, nice selection in lobby grocery store, love Noon check-out time, huge tv, love the microwave AND refrigerator in the room, and love the quietness. didn't hear our neighbors much at all. Also good hours for breakfast.

I missed the hot oatmeal for breakfast, I was looking forward to that. They only had instant this time. Also wish the windows would open more to get the fresh air. They only open a few inches and can't get the drapes open wide enough to let the fresh air in. didn't get some tv channels and remote was hard to work - had to press buttons a lot to get it to change channels.
