- pool and spa - minimal style - architecture - well equipped mini kitchen - keyless entry

- bed was really hard and not comfy at all - no recycling canisters - cheap robes with the wrong branding on them (said “the spring”)

LOVED the retro feel. Reminded me of vacationing when I was a kid in the 60's. Enjoyed the hot mineral water pool at night, seeing the stars and enjoyed hearing the breeze swaying through the palm trees. Just lovely. And we thoroughly enjoyed Cabots Pueblo Museum just a 3 minute walk up the street!

The hot tub was way TOO HOT! Even the pool was pretty hot, felt like my hot tub at home. Thinking the temperature was accidentally switched on too high. A fan in the room probably would have helped the wall A/C unit to cool the room down from 78°. It is May and pretty warm here already, so we do realize it's not easy keeping the room cool.

Loved the privacy of the resort, about 7 units on the property so its super relaxing! The proximity to Cabots adobe, the accommodating staff, the 24 hours mineral pools,& rooms were modern, light,& bright! Rooms 6 & 7 have kitchenettes so you can make your own food if you don’t want to leave the peacefulness of this lovely resort!

In the evening the main pool was not lit.

The Sagewater is the favorite spot for my wife and I in Desert Hot Springs, we have been to several other boutique hotels in the area but for us none have had the same charm. We have come here once or twice a year over the last five or six years just to get away from it all for a long weekend. We were drawn to the clean, simple mid-century modern architecture of the hotel. Its elegance lies in its simplicity and the exceptional upkeep of the property. I heard a rumor that the owners may be considering a remodel of the hotel, I beg that this does not happen. On this trip I went alone to recharge my batteries. Being the height of summer and the temperatures involved, I was actually the only one staying at the property that day. It seems, regardless of the heat, a dip into the pool can keep you comfortable on your lounge chair for an hour. The recent addition of several very large deck umbrellas was a good call and catnapping under them was a pleasure. Debbie, the hotel manager, was kind and friendly and always available if I needed her. Cleanliness: when I was younger I never really considered the cleanliness of a hotel room, it was just exciting to be in one. Now middle-aged, and having seen in the world what I have seen, cleanliness is critical for me if I want to enjoy a stay at a hotel. I'm not a clean freak, but I pay attention to the places that rarely get cleaned as a barometer for just how committed the hotel is two cleanliness. The tops of tall furniture, under the bed, what the pillow looks like underneath the pillow case, etc... As I mentioned before, the property is exceptionally well maintained compared to other boutique hotels we have stayed in in the area. That's not to say the others were dirty or unkept, the Sagewater simply does in an exceptional job in comparison. Amenities: the hotel is very simple, and as I have mentioned before, this is why we like it. There are services available at its sister site right across the street.

We loved the mineral water pool and hot tub. Perfect temperature for February! It was so nice to be in a small hotel, only 7 rooms. And the staff were very nice. The staff aren't around all day, but that was fine with us. The kitchenette worked great for us. The beds are firm with comfortable sheets. Relaxing, wonderful vacation!

The bed was a little firm for my taste, but ok.

Very peaceful, beautiful view of the mountains, wonderfully relaxing pools, stylish midcentury modern details, great value. The Cabot museum is just a 5-minute walk and is very cool!

Our room was a little too minimalist - we could have used a few more surfaces to put things on and maybe another chair. The kitchen window shade didn't open but we notified a staff member and hopefully it will be taken care of.

The rooms are tastefully decorated in mid-century minimal, which I appreciated. More importantly: The rooms are very clean as well as the entire property. The kitchen is functional. The pool is thermally heated, so consistently warm at any time of the day. The manager, Mel, was hospitable and accommodating, and ditto for the rest of the staff.

Lovely, peaceful pools. Never crowded even when fully booked. Super friendly, helpful staff. Immaculate.

Would have been nice to have greater temperature variety of pools, especially a cooler main pool. The room furniture was a bit uncomfortable: hard (though high-quality) plastic chairs. It would have been nice to have something with a cushion on it.
