Grant Plaza Hotel

The location of this hotel is fantastic at the start of China town on Grant... You are no more than a few blocks from BART and Muni routes to get you all around the city.

This isn't the hotel's fault but Pine Street which runs next to the hotel sometimes has a lot of traffic and some vehicles can be quite loud. A pair of ear plugs sorted the issue out for early morning noisy traffic.

Great location and really good value for money. The room was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. People at the front desk were polite. Overall a good stay.

There's no free parking with the hotel. I probably should have read the Booking description better, or maybe it was vague on purpose... But I booked the hotel thinking there was some sort of parking - and it's just that the hotel will validate your parking ticket at a specific garage to get a discount, and that specific garage was not easy to find.

Location! Location! Location! We attended Chinatown New year celebrations and it was one of the most entertaining experiences ever had. I recommend this hotel as a base.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only thing that needs improvement is the bed mattresses. I booked three rooms and each bed was either too hard (413) or too soft (410) and one was just right (404). Otherwise, everything was wonderful.

i’m giving this hotel a 10! why? Because I see a lot of poor reviews and they are undeserved. This hotel is excellent value for money. The room is very large for the price we pay. The bathroom was spotless. there are plugs all over the room, including USB ones.The staff is super friendly and helpful. The location is amazing. The restaurants nearby are great if you like Asian food. Yes there is a bit of noise from the street, but given the price you pay for the room it should not bother you. Yes the bed is a little hard, but it’s very comfortable. The people who complain about those two things want a different class of a hotel and they should not stay here. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

They could definitely change the windows of the hotel to double paned windows to block out the noise (But then they certainly would have to raise the price to cover the cost). To be honest, the soap brand could be changed. It feels a bit weird after washing.

Room met all our needs, as we only slept there and we’re out most of the day. The shower didn’t run out of hot water and the location was everything!!

Because of the location, it could be a little loud at times but this was better than staying on the outskirts of the city. I will definitely be back at Grant Plaza Hotel!! It’s definitely the best value when visiting SF.

Good location, with easy access through walking and public transport. Right in the heart of Chinatown. Staff were friendly enough and able to leave bags for the day. Price was ok considering other prices in the city

No breakfast available at hotel but Starbucks 2 min walk and a diner 10 mins away. No room cleaning due to “pandemic” could get what you needed but feel this was just being lazy.

Good location, area clear of homeless people. Room and bathroom was clean. Perfect for a few nights.

The windows will always be weird for an european, very thin and they do very little to block the noise from the streets - but that's an American thing, I guess. Bring earplugs - I always have them because I am sensitive to noise, but only used them the first night.

Staff is nice. Location is great. Food delivery friendly.

I can understand people are crowded on the street and the hotel cannot improve it. After all, I am in a good location. But! The thing is that some people yell at midnight! A guy shouted because of the government. Another shouted because he just broke up with a girl. The worst thing is there's a crazy guy who tried to open all the doors in the hotel at midnight and woke me up. God bless I locked my door. The manager should check the camera records at 2:20am to 2:40am on Aug. 14th.

I loved how quiet the room was unlike other hotels. The place was super clean but a bit older. The price and location are the best thing about this place.

The bed was super hard and that was about the only thing I can complain about. The elevator definitely needs to be looked at and is the scariest elevator I have ever been on.

Great, functional and quite economy hotel that is more modern than many other run-down places I have stayed at near Union Square.

The room was small and best suited for one person.
