Free bottled water was refillable in the lobby. Room location in the inner courtyard on the top floor was great! Bed was comfortable. Black out shades helped us sleep better at night. Waiters and servers were very accommodating. The maid on our floor was very nice and helpful when we needed an extra bar of soap. I liked having the safe.

Bathroom wasn't as tidy when we arrived. Some of the tables at breakfast were not bussed so it took us a while to find a clean table to sit at. Our room only had one sitting chair. The room was big enough to have two. So the second person sat on the bed. The refrigerator in our room wasn't cold enough so our fudge melted.

Staff was helpful..... the entry and parking staff did not have uniforms, it was hard to know if they were hotel employees? Most nice hotels have the bell boys and parking staff in shirts/jackets that are the same color with the name of the hotel. Location is excellent Room was nice, and housekeeping came in the morning - YAY! Fresh towels! Made the bed!

The room had a clothes rack in the bedroom, not a closet. Unusual. A tiny table in the corner of the room, barely large enough for a laptop. The restaurant was very small and had a limited breakfast and snack menu.

location-it’s in the intersection of the 3 cable car lanes, near Chinatown and easy to get anywhere. Chromecast-enabled TV decently sized room with bathtub and walk-in closet. free coffee in the morning employees are friendly and helpful.

everything cost extra- 35$ per day urban fee was too much, especially since we stayed for a while. a fixed amount per stay would have been better. breakfast cost $5 per dish other than that, minor quality-of-stay improvements can be made: no room service. there are also no convenience store nearby so a vending machine in the building would have been nice. no microwave in our room, and as in far as I can tell, there wasn’t one in the lobby either. TV was not in a comfortable viewing angle from the bed. outlets were only on one side of the bed.

The “urban fee” (even if one does not use the amenities covered by this fee) and the very exaggerated parking fee, all combined with taxes and all else, greatly brought up the price of the room. I would have gone elsewhere had I paid closer attention.

Room really large, with a great bathroom area. View over the bay were amazing. It is at the top of a huge hill, but the turning circle makes drop off really easy. SF has some interesting areas and residents - this is close enough to everything but really safe and away from some not-so-great areas

Comfortable and easy access to the city tour

I think they have less staff and need it to be more lively and accommodating. Staff should help the guess to take luggages. And have a welcoming vibe not just stand there and see you struggle with your luggage. Carpet hallway and elevator needs renovation.

The view was great. There was a nice towel warmer in the bathroom along with a huge room. The staff was very nice and helpful. Centrally located with easy transportation options.

The bed and pillows were uncomfortable. They should have provided water in the rooms either for sale or complimentary for guests, at least a cup for the sink, we were very thirsty.

really really comfortable bed....... and nice spacious room. excellent location on nob Hill with trolley bus passing the front door, and nice sweep in driveway / reception which made taxis etc so much easier. the breakfast was really nice although it was buffet, and the a la carte avocado and egg on sourdough was the best we have ever had :). would definitely recommend this hotel as long as you are ok with navigating the hills... as wherever you go form the hotel...it is uphill on the way back :)

incredibly clean, attentive and very friendly staff, in the best location in S.F., quietly and what be recently refurbished rooms, comfortable bar and restaurant in a pet friendly property.

Great location with a cable car junction so you can take a ride in any direction. Large, comfortable room with a nice view.

Not all staff as friendly and helpful as I would expect. Two types of breakfast. Either buffet or a la carte. If you choose to book with breakfast on booking.com, you get a buffet, which is not that great as the choices are very limited. Few hot dishes, toast and some muffins. No tomatoes, cheese, ham, etc. The first two days we had to spend some time explaining that breakfast was included in our package because the person at the desk could not find it in the computer.
