Comfort Inn & Suites Durango

The beds were great. Very nice towels, soft, white and very clean. Nice refrigerator and freezer, just big enough to move stuff from cooler to refrigerator. Great lock. Great safe to lock stuff up. Love how you could just not have any services unless you wanted it. Was able to pick up towel, paper products, soap at the front desk. Breakfast was great and very busy. It looked like everyone enjoyed it.

I was bit by another person’s dog across the hall from us. The owner came out of his room as we were leaving our room. He had two dogs on leashes but one was too long. The dog came on my side of hallway and bit me. Broke the skin. It was reported to Hotel. The Hotel staff were great. Had to go to ER to get checked out. Got tendinitis shot and antibiotics. Just hope the dog is up on all shots. The person said it was a service dog. When do service dogs attack people when we are minding our own business.

Breakfast was good and above some other places I have stayed at. Dealing with front desk was a lot better than some.

In the Bathroom #1 the knob was missing on the heat lamp so it could not be turned on. #2 The toilet tissue holder was missing so rolls had to be set on the counter by the sink #3 When we checked in the body lotion dispenser was laying in the sink. There was a place where it had been stuck on the wall at one time or another. Since the sink was farther away than the sticky stuff it had to be put in the sink by the staff. All of this was reported to the front desk to prevent me being charged for damages/missing stuff

From thee moment we arrived we were treated amazing. The front desk people were awesome and understood everything we asked for. The restaurant we were recommended was fantastic. She had also been to our home state and home town and said she loved it. That night the beds were the most comfortable of our entire 5 day adventure which took us to a different hotel every night. The next morning Breakfast was amazing and the staff was the most courteous and kid staff we have ever encountered at a hotel. If all hotels could follow this ones example travelers would be much more happy to stay in hotels.

Not a thing. This just didn't have anything that could be better. Ok maybe cookies when you arrive but that would be about it. This is truly an amazing hotel and staff.

I was VERY skeptical about this hotel because of the bad reviews that were written leading up to my stay. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Most of the negative comments I read were about cleanliness. I felt like my room was clean and sheets were fresh. I used disinfecting wipes to wipe things down just in case. There weren’t any weird smells or stain on the carpets. I noticed that housekeeping had a carpet shampooer out every day I was there which made me feel like they clean carpets frequently. The breakfast was great and the staff were all friendly and helpful when I had questions. We arrived at 9am and check in wasn’t until 4pm, but they let us check in anyways without an extra charge. The staff puts out popcorn and cookies in the lobby every afternoon and the kids really enjoyed that. For the price, this is an excellent bargain. Conveniently located as well! I stayed 11/19/2022-11/24/2022.

Good breakfast, friendly staff, clean and nice facilities; enjoyed the touch of having popcorn and cookies available, as well as the cold lemon water. Staff was helpful with computer paper and asking about our comfort. Also really enjoyed the nice sauna!

Our room was right next to the ice maker; a little noisy in the mornings-- would've been nice to have a way to buffer that sound. Making extra towels available without a big ordeal would've been nice.

Front desk clerk that checked us in was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable. Kids enjoyed making their own waffles for breakfast.

It was hard to find staff to have the table cleaned at breakfast. I also wanted to return the card keys at check-out but couldn't find anybody at the front desk. We later found out that there was a staff member at the front desk, but she was sitting behind the counter so we couldn't see her. A drop off box for checkout might be nice.

The staff was friendly and room was clean and bed very comfy! We loved the daily popcorn and appreciated the bottle filler for water.

The insulation didn’t seem great as we could hear voices/noise in hallway and rooms above and next door. It was a busy time with FLC orientation, so I understand the price but much more than I typically pay for a similar hotel.

the staff were welcoming, kind, and quick to help in any way they could. the facilities were very clean and kept up well. they made sure our rooms were next to each other. they were quick to restock breakfast as it ran out. loved the water bottle refill station, complimentary popcorn, and evening lemon water.

the pool looked a little green/was possibly overchlorinated. the elevator made some weird noises. having body lotion instead of body wash in the shower.

I liked how the concierge dealt with the overflow of guests checking in as well as handling the guests on the phone. He did a superb job. I even saw him check in with guest(s) on the phone, letting them know that they had not been overlooked, while trying to get others checked in. He handled the chaos very well. I checked in at around 4:15-ish or so.. I did not feel ignored at all, considering the overflow of check-ins to be made. 😊

The size of the pool.

The check-in was quick and easy, friendly staff. Hotel was clean and comfortable and in a safe area. Close to downtown Durango and Animas river. Breakfast was good, lots of choices. Fresh baked cookies in the afternoon and fresh popped popcorn til 10pm.

The only problem I encountered was in the morning and the blow dryer nearly caught fire. Other than that I have no complaints
