We were upgraded from a standard room to a suite with a balcony. That was unexpected and extremely nice of them! We even had two bathrooms! The view was great and we really enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The location is great as everything you need can be reached on foot. Great dining in walking distance just across the bridge, as well as numerous bars. Hot springs just across the street. Very convenient!

We decided not to eat at the hotel as everything was very pricy. Which was okay since there are quite a few restaurants nearby. Not everyone might see this as a problem but whenever I took a shower, the water temperature got only up to lukewarm. Which made the shower not very enjoyable, I was very cold. I don’t know if that is a problem in every room. It could be due to the age of the hotel. That would be my only complaint about the room, but not a deal breaker.

I really loved the historic charm of the hotel. The elevator felt like it was from the 80s though, so it didn't really match the vibe of everything else. The room itself felt nice, though it took a little trial and error to get the radiator setting more to our liking (all rooms use steam radiators for heating FYI). They give you little leaflets informing you about that at check-in, along with how the hot water can take 7 minutes to reach your shower. The bed was probably one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in, so big points for that.

There was some renovation work going on at the time, so they had also informed us that they were going to shut off the water 30 minutes before check-out. Not a big deal at all, but would've been better if they could've waited till after check-out to do that.

The history of the property was fascinating. A walk around the hotel helped to tell that story. We were only there one day/night on our cross country Amtrak train trip and of all the places we visited as a family we all agreed this was the one place we’d like to return to. Besides the Hotel Colorado, there are many local attractions we’d like to experience.

The room we were in was pretty barebones. With the property’s glamorous history, I expected more.

Mattress needs to be flipped, rotated or replaced. The telephone is located on the nightstand and most people tend to sit on the mattress side closest to phone and because this happens on all room reservations this causes a depression in the mattress at this location and is very uncomfortable to sleep on. Move phone away from bed and this issue is resolved. Mattress is designed to be slept on and not continuously sat on in a common location. Go to room 430 and you will see what I'm describing.

It’s a charming hotel with lots of history. Gréât location and cozy vibe. I love the retro historic vibe. Walking distance to lots of enjoyable activities. Elevator, full amenities, and masked safety protocols followed! One of my favorites hopefully for years to come!

The beds and pillows are hard. The room had some funny things that weren’t clean…. Hair on towels, dirt in bathtub, mirror hand prints. The floor was soooooo creeeeeky….. I felt bad for whoever was under me! It made for a lot of funny sounds. Adding to the spooky lore which I thought was funny. The weird old fashion grates that let air pass from common area into the room above bathroom. Should be covered due to covid cases in the area. Parking should be included. Coffee pot and microwave would make this room perfect!

Beautiful old hotel with big rooms and comfy beds. Staff were very nice and room was clean. Spacious lobby with seating areas and fireplaces. Bar and restaurant on site with options for vegan/vegetarian, plus a coffee shop with quicker, grab-n-go type options like burritos and sandwiches. They also offer room service. Nice courtyard area out front with chairs and a little fire-pit. Would make a really nice escape around the holidays as the hotel was beautifully decorated and lit up, plus hot springs right across the street. First time staying here and already planning to come back.

Love the ambience of this historic hotel. Being close to the holidays, it was being beautifully decorated. Enjoyed having coffee in the lobby & relaxing by the fireplace & watching the goings on. Excellent location with easily walk to downtown & hot springs pool. There’s also a property discount to both hot springs. Though we didn’t use it, there is a shuttle available for local transportation based on availability. Food was very good!

It’s old & some areas could be updated. The historic furniture in the king parlor room is not very comfortable to sit on, (but fits the historic decor) & some of the furnishings were just plain old (tv stand & cupboard around sink, fridge & microwave).

We were on the second floor in a 2 bedroom suite that overlooked the very pretty courtyard. They recently put in window units for air-conditioning, which thankfully did not detract from the historical ambience. I love looking at the old pictures of President Roosevelt and of the hotel when it was still fairly new. I love the history and knowing that's where the Teddy bear came to be!

We've been to the hotel many times over the last 20 years and one of the treats was to get a room service breakfast complete with fancy trays, individual sized condiments and real dishes. This time they gave us our food in "to go" boxes in a big paper bag. Very disappointing. The lady at the front desk said it was because of Covid protocols, however I felt like this was an excuse. I am hoping they will go back to regular room service soon.

Great location just short walk to main street. It was great to have a free shuttle available and many nearby attractions. We particularly loved the beautiful old building and would love to see it when the renovations are complete.

The amenities were a little disappointing. It would have been great to have some plates, cutlery, dish cloth etc to use over our 3 days. There was no daily room service ( Perhaps this is usual in US hotels?)
